Dendi

Danil “Dendi” Ishutin (born December 30, 1989) is a Ukrainian professional Dota 2 and former DotA player. Well known for his solo mid skills, he is regarded as one of the most creative players in the scene today, and is renowned for his unorthodox play style and unconventional skill and item builds. After having played for Natus Vincere for the entirety of his professional Dota 2 career, he finally departed the active roster for the first time in September 2018. He currently plays for The Pango.

Biography [ edit ]

Born in Lviv, Ukraine, Dendi got an early start with competitive gaming in net cafes when his elder brother married, moved out and took the family’s PC with him. Dabbling with Counter-Strike first, he soon found Warcraft 3 where he played in local tournaments and built a love for the competition and a thirst to be the best. Though he was quite successful in Warcraft 3 and even won a few local championships in Lviv, he knew he had found his calling when he stumbled upon DotA. He picked up the game quickly and played it almost exclusively over the next few months.

Beginning with learning only supports, he practiced heavily and was quickly vouched to the IHCS1 league and soon created his own team for tournaments in Lviv. After he led his team to a championship in Kiev, he was drafted by a team called “Wolker. Gaming” and began his professional career at 17.

DotA [ edit ]

Dendi started playing professionally with WG in 2006. [1] He was a part of the Ukrainian squad that finished third in MYM Prime Nations the same year. Only a few months later WG made it to the grand final of one of the most prestigious tournaments at the time; MYM Prime Defending. [2] When Kingsurf. international merged with WG the next year he became a full-time member of Ks. int. [1] In late 2008 he joined DTS, only to return to Ks. int in March 2009. [3] Three months later though, Dendi returned to DTS. [4] The team would end up finishing 2nd at ESWC 2010. At the end of 2010, Dendi and DTS finished 3rd at the prestigious WDC 2010. [5] Dendi joined Natus Vincere at the end of 2010. [6]

Dota 2 [ edit ]

Dendi started his Dota 2 career with Na’Vi, who quickly established themselves as one of the best teams in the world by winning The International 2011. Na’Vi continued to dominate and won many tournaments in the years 2011, 2012 and 2013. Dendi was the center of Na’Vi’s consistent stable and skilled rosters, with his performance greatly contributing to their success.

The Natus Vincere Dota 2 team achieved significant success with Dendi as their midlaner during the first few years of the game; they finished as the runners-up for both The International 2012 and The International 2013, losing out to Invictus Gaming and Alliance, respectively. 2013 would mark the last year of Na’Vi and Dendi’s dominance in the Dota 2 scene, as they only recorded two LAN victories since January 2014. The International 2014 saw Na’Vi and Dendi finishing the tournament outside of the top 2 for the first time and the following two Internationals, TI 5 and TI 6, they would finish in last place. The results would deteriorate further, as they would fail to even qualify for The International 2017, they failed to advance out of the group stage of the regional qualifiers. This marked the first year of The International tournaments without Dendi attending as a player. The 2017/18 season started of promising for Dendi and Na’Vi, who dominated the CIS scene in the early months, crowning their improving results with their second LAN victory since 2014. However, the second half of the season saw the roster break apart and finally the team would fail to even reach the regional qualifiers for The International 2018, after losing in the open qualifier.

Four years of roster instability and poor results finally took their toll on the reputation of the Na’Vi organization and on Dendi’s status as a legendary player and a top tier midlaner. After 8 years playing mid on Na’Vi, Dendi was finally removed from the active roster in September 2018. However, Dendi vowed to continue playing professionally. After a brief stint on Tigers, Dendi joined The Pango.

Every hero pretty much has multiple counters so there is no sure team that you wouldn’t be able to beat somehow with some hero or item.

Even though, a combo of Tidehunter, magnus, Earth Shaker, SF and OD is pretty hard to beat, we thought the whole team rushing BKB.

Ah it has its flaws, I just came up with a team fight combo just for the sake of this thread.

There isnt a sure pick But there are Good drafts. I am not a drafter so i cant teach u how to draft but i can tell u my Team’s signature draft.

U PUSH AND U PUSH AND U PUSH. Problem? Anti pushers. Superior Counter gankers, teamfighters and heroes with uphill defense.

PICKS
MID : DP (PSUH)
GREEDY SUPPORT –> SHAMAN (PUSH)
SUPPORT WINTER (HEAL)
OFFLANE : UNDYING (PIPE MAKER AND HEAL)
CARRY DROW (PUSH)

BANS : (THERE CAN BE MORE THIS IS JUST EXAMPLE)

1. ALCHI (ANTI PUSH IDK How but my captain said he is anti push :D)
2. SILENCER. (BLOCK DP AND SHAMAN ULT)
3. ES (ECHO IS GREAT FOR UPHILL DEFENCE and fissure is too)
4. TREANT. (HIS ULT IS GOOD 4 UPHILL DEF TOO)
5. AA (ANTIHEAL)

it’s meepo the things a person with no experience thinks would counter him actually don’t counter him, he beats everything. this is assumign the meepo player bought boots of travel between 6 and 10 minute mark(which is really easy to do). and the meepo player knows what to build such as aghanims drums ethereal blade vlads, and knows when to take roshans and when to push on towers and how to play each match up, generally he doesn’t need to be hitting towers too often against certain match ups while other match ups he can do so more freely. for example if against pudge and earth shaker and riki and spirit breaker and ganking heros that could have blinks then don’t just be aggressive to hit towers, instead kill enemy heros and let the towers come naturally. meepo destroys all those picks in fights. no hero in the game takes towers faster than meepo and it is not close. and no other hero can have more dps from right clicks than all enemy heros combined by 35 minute mark reliably each game(this is not even counting the geostrike passive, which isn’t a small amount of damage itself).

ur best bets in countering meepo is buying tons of evasions since meepo would never buy monkey king bar, but even then meepo destroys evasion picks all game long and after 45 minute mark it merely becomes even match-up. earth shaker loses to meepo 1v1 most of the game except before aghanims. and easy to play against earth shaker just stay passive and know earth shaker will be hiding in bushes and stuff. beat him up in fights and his team. especailly after you get aegis. and plan your aegis so that you have enough to buy back and tp back in. with 3 lives, around 25 to 35 minute mark you will be 10 levels higher than all enemies reliably every game. and with 3 lives, you can rampage and 1v5 win and take 3 tiers of towers single handedly. cause by 35 minute mark you have more dps from right clicks to towers as a 5 man team of heros at that stage of the game.

remember though, you don’t need to teleport 5 times go somewhere, you teleport poof around the map with infinite teleports. tinker needs bottle and crap to do it, meepo can just go straight boots 1 into travel. that 2k for it is like 2k into a blink it’s not a huge lose, but consider no other hero in dota2 comes close to using boots of travel as good as meepo, it’s always worth it. remember you are really fast with those boots and drums and the net is off the screen range, you don’t need blink in most situations, just about all situations. it’s a good item on other heros but not in this situation, 4k gold on no stats is too much when you have no problems catching people already and people are the ones trying to engage on you. once you turn the tide and are the one beating people up they’ll fight you and die, and other times just can’t escape in time. you’d be better off upgrading to boots of travel 2 than blink due to the fact you can teleport poof onto an ally, and remember if your ally is fighting an enemy all the 4 meepos that poofed into the play damaged that enemy for quite a bit, just like blink poofing. legion ults or pudge ults or void ults it’s free teleport poof with 4 meepos nuking when they enter the sandman.

ES and lich can easily destroy a meepo, especially if they surprise him.

And I have to disagree with you with him being the best pusher. IMO brood is the best pusher, her and a swarm of spiders melt towers. That and ss’s ult are better at killing towers than meepo imo

My QoP Guide – Introduction

***Please note this is a work in progress***

Hey guys, this is my first gu >

Skills

Queen of pain has 4 great skills that are all very good.

Skill #1:
Shadow Strike
Shadow Strike is an effective skill early on in the game, but does not need to be levelled high. If you look at the Skill Sequence, its not levelled until everything else is. It is mainly used at a slow and a small dps which actually does a lot with a couple of auto attacks. If you follow the build, you will deal enough damage with scream of pain

Skill #2
Blink
Blink is a simple, but amazing spell. No need for a force staff or blink dagger. Blink is great because you can chase and escape with it. You should usually start off with a blink in and scream, then shadow strike. This will do a lot of damage and force a salve. You should always carry a tp scroll so you can blink in odd areas and tp out.

Skill #3
Scream of Pain
Scream of pain is definantly the best out of the first three skills, in my opinion. It has massive damage as well as a big radius for aoe damage. Its very most of your damage comes out, until you get your ult. This skill maxed, is just as good as your first level of the ultimate.

Skill #4
Sonic Wave
Sonic Wave is a great ult, but even better with scepter. Scepter is not a key item I get, but it always seems to come out on the game that go on for 60 minutes. It has good distance, but is does not hit 360 like Scream of Pain does. Sonic Wave maxed does good damage and is very effective late game.

Pros / Cons

Pros:
– High Damage (spell)
– Great hero early game
– Good hero late game (depending on start)
– Very mobile
– Can chase and escape easily

Cons:
– Can die very fast
– Useless when silenced
– Requires good positioning
– If early game falls apart, its hard to come back late
– No hard disable

How To Win Early Game

Your best option with Queen of Pain is to go solo m > Shadow Strike first. You should harass with this skill as it was low mana costs at level 1. Once you have the high ground and the fog of war, toss one at the enemy and add a few auto attacks. It will force them to tango or salve. If you keep doing this till level 5, you will have level 3 Scream of Pain and you could now rush the enemy. You should also have a bottle at this time. Open with a Shadow Strike then Blink to the target and use Scream of Pain . Add auto-attacks and they will probably die (depending on the hero). You could have drawn first blood and then go check runes. This would be a good time to gank. You would have your ult and the bottle will give you some mana regen. Starting ganking (without dieing) and eventually come back to farm. Once your victim comes back, harass em again and then rush em. Now you have your ult and once you hit your ult, you will see they health decimate.

If you keep doing this, as well as ganking and helping your team push, you should win the early game and once you have, you can win the late game because of the money + items you have.

Items

Items are very important on Queen of Pain. More so late game than early game.

Of the bat, you want to start with
Healing Salve
Tango
Clarity
and either
1 mantle, 2 branch.
2 mantle, 1 branch.
3 branch.

If you go 3 branches, you will have a lot more money left for bottle (which you can bring with courier).

After a couple creep waves, you should have bottle and maybe boots. Drawing first blood is something you really want on QoP. you should be getting
Bottle
*Optional*[Null Talisman
and either of these 2 boots:
Power Treads (Int)
or
Arcane Boots

Next you should be going for items that go to your late game items. These are the items you should be most likely to get at this point.

You can buy items the help you early and then later build them into the larger late game items which is great.

Bad Start?

Like stated before, if you so bad on the starting game, it is very hard to get back to the later game. Depending on how bad you do, you should change your gameplay and item choice. If you are doing just total garbage, then you should just switch to support QoP. Support QoP isn’t the best, but she can ward very well and also apply some good slows with shadow strike. For support you should be buying Observer Ward , Sentry Ward and if you are doing a bit more than support, you should be getting the following items.

Final Comments

Overall, Queen of Pain is an amazing hero that is used less than she should be. She can play many roles and is very mobile. Following this guide will help you with your gameplay, although if you don’t like anything you can obviously change anything you want.

For new updates, I will create another “chapter” called “Build Changelog” and display all things I added to the build.

Thanks for coming this far through the build and i appreciate any and all feedback.

its so hard to find a game nowadays. and only give +9 MMR

MMR gain loss is based on the MMR spread difference between two teams. If the opponent’s team has a lower MMR spread and you win, you gain less MMR. If the opponent’s team has a higher MMR spread and you lose, you lose more MMR.

If you don’t like waiting for a game then don’t queue as mid/core in solo matchmaking. Join or create your own party instead.

Plus there’s also the criteria of having a fair level of MMR with the enemy of the same Ranked Role e. g. if you queue for Mid Lane, you’ll be matched with an enemy of the same/close MMR whom queued for Mid Lane

its pretty even right? how i only receive 9 mmr?
😀

I checked but honestly, Medals doesn’t really tell much on the MMRs.

Medals usually tell you the range but it can still spread the MMR unevenly.

i hope gaben soon will remove ranked role. and only those who have dotaplus will be able to find ranked roles 😀 i really hate waiting for so long. the game is more fast to end than find match

39 minutes i waited for a turbo game >))) in which im going to play 15 minutes
whats going on , cant believe this ♥♥♥♥

Rank medals are not the same thing as MMR. Rank is based on multiple factors not just X MMR. Two players can have the exact same rank medal and very different MMR. Additionally, there are multiple unranked players in your game.

I can’t calculate the MMR spread without knowing the actual and exact numerical MMR of every player on both teams.

And again, if you don’t like waiting so long then I would urge you to join or create your own party.

Also, you were queuing on the Singapore server at 4am in local time.

Zeus for easy MMR and fun (2k to 6k ++)

Early game the only real thing you want to do is FARMING and you also want to be careful for ganks ( one of zeus big weakness is 0 mobility, if you play vs good ganker you might have a hard game)

CS with your Q while also auto attacking with to be sure you won’t get denyed.

get a soul ring to never run out of mana while buying some clariy potion here and here to be able to get every cs with your q ( you won’t get much with your auto attack, since if you went soul ring you won’t have much extra intel your auto attack will be almost useless)

Once you hit your level 6 you def have kill potential for both the mid lane if you have someone that can help you or top or bot lane. With a full mana bar with 5 Q in a row you will do insane dmg on a lvl 3-4 support or carry with your ultimate to finish them.

Get mana boots and bottle after soul ring and you should be able to clear waves with 3Q.( try to get one auto attack on the range creep it can stay alive early with only 1 point in E) Will need 2 q to kill the range creep.

after you clear the waves, you can, wait for the other wave to come or try to get a gank if you see good Opportunities.

Don’t forget to buy raindrops if you need to survive the burst of some m >

Mid game.

Now the real fun start.

You will start getting more points in your w which does INSANE damage (and also cancel out TP and give vision in night which also auto attack someone if you hit it on the ground)

You have a lot of items Opportunities, it depends on game but what I prefer now is Lens into Veil. Zeus big weakness is having no mobiltiy at all, with lens, you can easyly stay out of fights from having the long range with lens. Going Veil as your second item is you to keep the pressure early game on the other team, with veil and all your abilities combo you can easy one shot any low hp heros that has 0 magic resist at that point of the game.

Zeus without mana is the most useless hero in the game ( his auto attack has no damage and range, all his abilities that does dmg cost mana, .)I would recommend going travel boots after lens/veil so you can tp back to base to get your full mana back then travel back to lane to farm or team fight again after using all your mana. Dota 2 zeus gameplaysurveys If the fights you are doing are very long because youre against tanky heros, I would suggest building a bloodstone so you can stay in fights pretty much at all time without having to go back to base.

after that or BEFORE that eul’s scepter is also good to be able to live vs things like SF ultimate, invoker combo and can also use it offensively to help set up a good combo from your team.

Aghanim is the second best item next to lens/veil for zeus, can cancel out tp from ANYWHERE, insane dmg combo with your q+w+r combo. Get that item quickly after lens/veil/travel.

Keep clearing waves quick and always have tp on you so you can help your off lane or safe lane if they get in trouble ( once you are lvl 6 it’s always dangerous to do something vs a zeus. his q-w-r combo is almost always a one shot if they don’t have any magic resist or rain drop to counter your crazy burst)

Late game.

Zeus keep getting better and better as the game goes on.

try to always have clarity potion on yourself Zeus without mana is useless, if you went travel boots after lens/veil, you shouldnt have as much problem since you can use all your mana tp back to base then come back in teamfights with full mana shortly after(also the movement speed on travel boots is very amazing on Zeus to help his bad mobility )The constant damage from your Q spam and the INSANE damage coming out of your W will be no fun for your opponent. Add the passive which wreck anyone( even tank ) through the game and you will see why Zeus is one of the best mid if not the best in my opinion in the right hands.

Once you are lvl 25 with octarine you will even be able to clear mega creeps easy, also will be able to defend the highground from far( very hard to push highground vs zeus even without his lvl 25 q damage.)

Always stay in the background, sometimes you can try to make plays by yourself if you have a blink dagger and aghanim, your aghanim + ulti + W + q combo can literally 100% to 0 % anyone that isnt careful and don’t have any magic resist.

Defensives items that you need will change pretty much every game, but eul’s and Aeon Disk are both my favorite, some games BKB can also be necessary or blink.

What skills to max out? And what talent to take ?

Max Q then W ( one point in your passive at lvl 2 or 4 depending if you need your w to cancel out a tp very early level )

Maxing Q make you able to farm the creeps without anyone being able to deny you ( only TA can do that cause her auto attack are just better than your q, she’s like the best hero to play vs zeus)

XP at level 10 is always the best talent imo. Zeus with level mean more damage and more burst which is always good. One of the thing I like doing is buying the XP book so I can get the xp talent faster and snowball with higher level than anybody in the game.

Level 15 one should be move speed, zeus weakness is his bad mobility so the move speed is seriously nice to take which add up a nice movement speed to eul scepter and travel boots.

lvl 20 is seriously a hard choice some games, I really like the Cooldown reduction added up to octarine you have insane CDR for both your aghanim w and ultimate, but I also like the stun on W since if someone stay in your aghanim + you use your w on them you can pretty much STUNLOCK them , good vs hero that have to run away like void, storm, etc ( also people can never blink out of your aghanim since the damage is always instant once they are out of their eul scepter, the damage from the aghanim ability will always be faster than the blink reset.

Level 25 should always be the Q damage. that talent is just insane.

Make you able to clear wave insane fast ( can even clear mega creeps late game.) also crazy insane damage in long fights.

Give back reviews.

So that’s it for my small guide. I will try to update it.

help me please, I can’t create bot lobby in 1v1 mode

I want to create lobby with bot in 1v1 mode but It’s still 5v5 hero.
Then, I try to use “createhero . enemy” to create hero in empty room but
this bot is passive mode and I can’t control them at all.
The console monitor say “unit is not controllable by the ordering player”.

Does anyone know any way to create lobby in 1v1 mode? help me please.

thank you very much

download the SF mid 1v1 and look at their code to learn.

it will be in \Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\570\ “XXXXXXXX”

Thank you very much for reply!!

Do you mean about “[JPBot] 1v1 SF mid” ? I very confuse about how to run it.
It doesn’t have any detail in steam workshop. I try to run it in “all pick” and “1v1 solo mid”
but some bot doesn’t pick hero.

Do you know the way to run this?

you pick 1v1 solo mid mode in a game lobby and choose those bot scripts in the “radiant bots and dire bots” dropdown box.
but what you are after is the hero_selection file.

rereading your first post, are you wanting to script a 1v1 bot or just play a 1v1 game with bots using other peoples scripts?

I want to script a 1v1 bot and use machine learning to improve it.
First , I plan to use “default bot” play with my bot for training model and testing my bot
( radiant bots is default script , dire bots is my script and I see a match as spectator).
but I can’t create lobby in 1v1 now.

I try to do follow your method but some bot still not pick hero.
I am not confident about my setting. please help me to check my setting T_T

2nd radiant bot don’t select hero and the game can’t start

thank you very much for helping me

Ohhhh , I found the cause of problem. In hero_selection file use 1,2,3. instead of player ID. The function “SelectHero” need a player id in first parameter.

Thank you very much for helping me . )))

the only thing i see wrong with your pictures is that there are bots in slots other than the first slots of each team.
in a 1v1 mode only 2 bots should be picked, not a whole team.

i have never run or looked at the SF mid scripts, i dont know why they are loading more than 1 hero, they shouldnt.

im not sure 1,2,3 is a good solution because if someone joins slot 4 or whatever, then slot 1 on each team might get filled (?) and you may end up with 2 mid bots and a player with nowhere to go.

Rare ingots dota 2

If you don’t play dota2 and don’t know what flamesalt ingots are and you never queued for the year beast even, close this tab and get out, i don’t feel like explaining even half of it

And yes this is mostly a rant, i got to farm around 700ish ingots in the week, that aparently is a nice number, however the gold you receive from ingots is just a one time run thing, once you spend it, they are gone, you got 6 divine rapiers because yolo? now you don’t have any gold for your next try

Fortunately i was not one of those people (because i tried practice mode first)

But many, many people did

And if you soloq, you are going to get 1-4 people with no gold to buy items and do nothing and die in literally 1-2 hits, and if you also have no gold, well you are pretty much ****ed

On the nice side, i use Skeleton King a lot in normal dota and i got a rare crown from the lvl6 gift so why
not try him?

First try, wasted 75% of the ingots i had, Rank C

Apparently his ult was bugged (if you die with it it doesn’t revive you) his q did no damage and neither stunned the thing but even then his w and e worked perfectly

Apparently too well

On second try i had this ursa instalocker telling me to pick SK and max w and e and dump everything in stats, so i did, i had just just enough gold get crimson guard and armlet

And what a surprise, we both were the only two guys with gold to buy anything

So 3 people did absolutely nothing but distract the beast, lowering our dps, because we were sustaining trough everything that thing threw at us, in fact we let them die and we stopped reviving them 4 mins in

And even then, we got rank C again

I played some normal dota matches to get enough ingots for a armlet and vanguard

4 people had no items

o well time to google some builds/strategies to solo it and get a nice rank for tokens.

So we either had 2 options, yolo it when the limited 24h gamemode came out and fail miserably because we don’t know what to do
Or wait a bit and other people will make us fail miserably because nobody has any inglots anymore

I was lucky and got 800 jade tokens from abusing a bug i don’t even knew it existed

And many people wasted 8 days worth of playtime for nothing

TLDR: The gamemode is stupid and flawed and apparently is made that way to make you buy boosts, if you have any ingots left to spend wait for the beast to comeback in some days when valve fixes all the bugs in this thing,
And:
DO NOT QUEUE NOW NOBODY HAS ANY GOLD ANYMORE AND THEY WILL RUIN YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING AND WASTE YOUR INGOTS

Why don’t you just 5-stack with people who know what they’re doing?

It’s really pathetic, a pay to win gamemode (YEAH I KNOW THE GAME IS ****ING FREE I KNOW) that you need a 5 stack to do well in a one trick pony gamemode you farmed for during the entire week, and what valve does? Oh, let’s patch every single “exploit” so it’s stupidly harder to get anything better than Rank F in soloq.

It could be a cool raidboss battle, but why it needs to be so hard except for people who play this game 24/7?

Plus, i just have one friend that plays dota2 half frequently, and i haven’t seen him in the entire day

-5 man stack with your friends.
-if you don’t 5 man stack you are stuck with people who does no item grind
-you get 120 ingots every time you play a game
-you get 250 jade token which is a free cosmetic every time you get 100k+ damage. No ingot needed
-at least there’s an event in Dota2
