[SUGGESTION] Team Balance / Team Builder

Hi All,
I’m going to come out and say this, so please don’t flame me. I play pubs exclusively, sometimes solo, sometimes with friends. The biggest problem I see with pubs is team balance / build is usually pretty terrible. I think the reason this happens is 2 fold:

  1. Everyone wants to carry. It’s the glory role. Knowing you shut the team down by slaughtering them every team fight is pretty awesome. I prefer to play carries and gankers, I think it just goes with my personality.
  2. People just don’t know any better. I think plenty of people have the attitude of “If I pick Faceless Void and farm my eyes out, I’ll destroy the entire enemy team and we’ll win.” They focus on “I” as opposed to “Team”; or how can “I” win as opposed to how can “our team” win.

Keeping this in mind, I usually try to fill in whatever role is needed. I’d be lying if I said I was good support; in fact, I’m probably below average. I only ward rune spots and I accidentally steal kills because I don’t realize how strong my spells are (I usually play Zeus when we need a support).

With this in mind; I think it would be very helpful for the pubbers if there was a diagram of sorts on the hero selection screen that showed the team strengths (based on soft picks).

This is a simple radar chart I made in Excel as a mockup. The values are not based on any heroes in particular, and are random for the most part. I’m also well aware that this list of categories can be expanded further if you really wanted to, this is just a mockup:
herotool. png

Again, this is something small that can help newer players learn about good team comp. If they see they’re on a weak team, they’ll be more inclined to pick a better team. DotA is a hard game to learn, and I think a tool like this at the player select screen will help newer players out significantly.

I might even take it a step further, and allow a player to click on the tool and it would randomly soft-pick a hero that would help the team’s “rating” improve, as well as highlight some other picks that would fill in those gaps as well.

Before some people start saying “Why don’t we just play the game for them as well?” that’s not the point of this. New players won’t be able to improve if they don’t know what mistakes they’re making.

I’d also throw out there that if a player who normally plays carries, gankers, or initiators chooses a support hero because the team needs it, this could align with GN’s idea of rewarding good community players. The guy who says “Screw you, I’m picking Drow” when there are already 3 carries gets nothing; but the guy who normally would pick Drow says “OK, I’ll grab Rhasta” gets some extra points or currency to use towards a hat or something.

I’m sure the downside is people will try to farm, but hey, that’s what these forums are for; to discuss ways of making the game and community better :-).

Buildings

are a type unit that are not controlled by any player. At the beginning of each match, a set of buildings spawn at set locations for both teams. Both factions have the same set of buildings, with only their appearance differing from each other. Buildings take mostly defensive roles and are the main objective of the game.

All buildings have the same base properties. They are immune to most spells (with only a few spells affecting them), have the structure armor type, deal siege damage if they can attack and are immobile. When destroyed, some buildings grant gold to the entire enemy team, while others grant gold only to whoever made the last hit. Once below 10% health, buildings (except for the Ancients) can be denied to prevent the enemy from getting their gold bounties, or to reduce the amount they get. Buildings do not grant experience. Once destroyed, a building is permanently lost, as they do not respawn.

There are a total of 29 buildings on each side.

Towers [ edit ]

Towers are the main line of defense for both teams, attacking any non-neutral enemy that gets within their range. Both factions have all three lanes guarded by three towers each. Additionally, each faction’s Ancient have two towers as well, resulting in a total of 11 towers per faction. Towers come in 4 different tiers:

  • Tier 1 towers, located at the end of each lane.
  • Tier 2 towers, located halfway through each lane.
  • Tier 3 towers, located on top of the 3 ramps at each base.
  • Tier 4 towers, located in pairs in front of each Ancient.

Tier 1 towers are invulnerable during the preparation phase, until the battle begins. Each Tier 2 and tier 3 tower is invulnerable until the lower tier tower preceding it in its lane is destroyed. The two tier 4 towers are invulnerable until any of the tier 3 towers have been destroyed. Barracks do not have to be destroyed to make tier 4 towers vulnerable. Both of the tier 4 towers must be destroyed in order to remove the Ancient’s invulnerability.

All towers have a vision range of 1900 during the day. Tier 1 towers have a night vision of 800, while higher tier towers have a night vision range of 1100. Additionally, all towers have True Sight in a 700 area around them, and have one defensive and one supportive ability. Towers can attack, but never attack nearby neutral creeps.

Building Health Deny Health Armor HP Regen Backdoor Protection
Tier 1 Tower 1800 180 12 0 N
Tier 2 Tower 2000 200 16 0 Y
Tier 3 Tower 2000 200 16 0 Y
Tier 4 Tower 2100 210 21 0 Y
Building Damage BAT DPS Attack Range Projectile Speed
Tier 1 Tower 100‒120 1 110 700 750
Tier 2 Tower 170‒180 0.95 184.21 700 750

Tier 4 Tower 170‒180 0.95 184.21 700 750

Towers grant a gold bounty to whoever makes the last hit, but also grant a team bounty to the entire team. When denied, both team get half the team bounty.

Building Team Bounty Last Hit Bounty Last Hit Total No Last Hit Total
Tier 1 Tower 100 (50 if denied) 150‒250 650‒750 500
Tier 2 Tower 120 (60 if denied) 150‒250 750‒850 600
Tier 3 Tower 140 (70 if denied) 150‒250 850‒950 700
Tier 4 Tower 160 (80 if denied) 150‒250 950‒1050 800

Attack priority [ edit ]

Towers are using regular auto-attacking, so when multiple enemies engage the tower, it naturally targets the first enemy that gets within its attack range. It sticks with that target until it can no longer be attacked (it dies, gets out of attack range or becomes attack immune). Once that happens, it chooses the next attack target using the following priority system.

  1. Closest enemy unit attacking the tower itself
  2. Closest enemy unit attacking an ally of the tower
  3. Closest enemy unit

It does not matter whether the unit is a hero or a non-hero unit, they are treated equally. Units treated differently are wards and siege creeps. These units are always attacked as last. If a tower attacks one of these units, and then another unit or hero come within range, the tower immediately switches to the new unit. Siege creeps have a higher priority than wards.

There are two additional scenarios where the tower switches its attack target immediately:

  1. If an enemy hero attacks an allied hero while within 500 range of the tower, it immediately switches to that enemy hero. This only works against enemy heroes. Non-hero units attacking heroes do not cause the tower to switch aggro towards them. The attack does not have to finish or connect, the attack order alone is enough. However, it has to be a regular attack, instant attacks or manually casting an active attack modifier do not count. This behavior is akin to lane creeps’ behavior, which do the same in this scenario.

Dota 2 mustache template

Dota 2 mustache template

Dota 2 mustache template

Dota 2 mustache template

mustache – Logic-less templates.

SYNOPSIS

A typical Mustache template:

Given the following hash:

Will produce the following:

DESCRIPTION

Mustache can be used for HTML, config files, source code – anything. It works by expanding tags in a template using values provided in a hash or object.

We call it “logic-less” because there are no if statements, else clauses, or for loops. Instead there are only tags. Some tags are replaced with a value, some nothing, and others a series of values. This document explains the different types of Mustache tags.

TAG TYPES

Tags are indicated by the double mustaches. <> is a tag, as is <> . In both examples, we’d refer to person as the key or tag key. Let’s talk about the different types of tags.

Variables

The most basic tag type is the variable. A <> tag in a basic template will try to find the name key in the current context. If there is no name key, the parent contexts will be checked recursively. If the top context is reached and the name key is still not found, nothing will be rendered.

All variables are HTML escaped by default. If you want to return unescaped HTML, use the triple mustache: <<>> .

You can also use & to unescape a variable: <> . This may be useful when changing delimiters (see “Set Delimiter” below).

By default a variable “miss” returns an empty string. This can usually be configured in your Mustache library. The Ruby version of Mustache supports raising an exception in this situation, for instance.

Sections

Sections render blocks of text one or more times, depending on the value of the key in the current context.

A section begins with a pound and ends with a slash. That is, <> begins a “person” section while <> ends it.

The behavior of the section is determined by the value of the key.

False Values or Empty Lists

If the person key exists and has a value of false or an empty list, the HTML between the pound and slash will not be displayed.

Non-Empty Lists

If the person key exists and has a non-false value, the HTML between the pound and slash will be rendered and displayed one or more times.

When the value is a non-empty list, the text in the block will be displayed once for each item in the list. The context of the block will be set to the current item for each iteration. In this way we can loop over collections.

Lambdas

When the value is a callable object, such as a function or lambda, the object will be invoked and passed the block of text. The text passed is the literal block, unrendered. <> will not have been expanded – the lambda should do that on its own. In this way you can implement filters or caching.

Non-False Values

When the value is non-false but not a list, it will be used as the context for a single rendering of the block.

Inverted Sections

An inverted section begins with a caret (hat) and ends with a slash. That is <> begins a “person” inverted section while <> ends it.

While sections can be used to render text one or more times based on the value of the key, inverted sections may render text once based on the inverse value of the key. That is, they will be rendered if the key doesn’t exist, is false, or is an empty list.

Comments

Comments begin with a bang and are ignored. The following template:

Will render as follows:

Comments may contain newlines.

Partials

Partials begin with a greater than sign, like <box>> .

Partials are rendered at runtime (as opposed to compile time), so recursive partials are possible. Just avoid infinite loops.

They also inherit the calling context. Whereas in an [ERB](http://en. wikipedia. Dota 2 mustache template org/wiki/ERuby) file you may have this:

Mustache requires only this:

Why? Because the next_more. mustache file will inherit the size and start methods from the calling context.

In this way you may want to think of partials as includes, imports, template expansion, nested templates, or subtemplates, even though those aren’t literally the case here.

For example, this template and partial:

Can be thought of as a single, expanded template:

Set Delimiter

Set Delimiter tags start with an equal sign and change the tag delimiters from <> to custom strings.

Consider the following contrived example:

Here we have a list with three items. The first item uses the default tag style, the second uses erb style as defined by the Set Delimiter tag, and the third returns to the default style after yet another Set Delimiter declaration.

According to ctemplates, this “is useful for languages like TeX, where double-braces may occur in the text and are awkward to use for markup.”

Custom delimiters may not contain whitespace or the equals sign.

General DiscussionHow to counter Visage mid?

^
considering you dont have a dream team so opt-out ganking
how you manage solo vs a visage on midlane?
he lvl ups fast as hes solo, hes tanky u cant harass much,
after 6lvl he conjures familiars and rapes you with slow+imba dmg+stuns from familiars.

in my case i was sniper and tried to stay far and farm and harass with sharpnel but after 6 he totally destroyed me(however he had near 0 versatility and around 700 avg gpm/xpm which means he was a booster or visage spammer)

His account is being boosted lol he went from barely having a 50% ranked winrate to literally winning 27 out of 29 games.

^
true and sad. i just checked his account,
https://www. dotabuff. com/players/47903526
the booster is necro spammer which in my game necro was banned.

anyway the hero itself is cancer, any suggestion to counter?
i can counter necro with magic dmg but no idea how to deal with visage

https://dota2.gamepedia. Dota 2 visage discussion web com/Visage/Counters Why do you ask something that can be searched on internet?

literally any retard can edit those and that has nothing to do with laning anyway.

Look dude you just have to play better. I get he’s a smurf so maybe his last hitting was way above yours, but you bought phase at min 9, then aquila at 15. That means you missed like every cs in lane. This is me vs a viper who kicked my ass in lane https://www. dotabuff. com/matches/3450900783/builds and still 2:34 aquila, 7:34 treads.

Visage barely outranges sniper level 1, and by 3 at most you should have a point in take aim and out range him by 50. You have comperable level 1 dmg and he has negative starting armor and won’t get cloak til later so you should win any harrassment battles early. Basically he shouldn’t be able to win lane before 6. At 6 yes he can kill you outright but you should have a lot more items and then he can’t kill you as easily. If you back under tower when he sends familars I don’t think visage can dive you.

Veno is an extremely hard counter to visage, viper right behind that. Take either of those heroes mid vs visage and you’ll shit on them.

@direwolf youre right i sucked this game and its not my average sniper (i got around 70-% wr), he got some early kills by gankings which as i remember riki and wd ganked few times and gave him advantage, however i guess with those items in proper time he still shits on sniper after 6.
anyway, as sniper i literally win vs every laning even pa before 6 cuz sharpnel is so strong but i couldnt harass this pesky visage and every time i use sharpnel he came closer in my face and even uses soul assumption which hurts a lot. (and yes after 6 he dived me under tower and no safe spot for me with that slow and heavy dmg)

@A BSJ i see how viper can survive(hes a survivor!) , but veno with his low hp and short atk range and slow ms?!

@I play for fun
through the link you shared , i can approve leshrac could be a good mid vs him. but others where either not mid laner or situational.

@qrl from spamming visage veno is the worst to play against. He q’s you and your familiars and you can’t do shit. Also when the familiars come out of stone form and veno q’s them they can’t run away, making it an easy 200 gold. Also veno burns through visages passive I believe

Leshrac by FangzofFuzzy

Leshrac

Leshrac

Rework

“By the impure powers of nature.”

Design

Nothing about Leshrac really stands out. He deals a lot of area damage with Light Strike Array and a basic Chain Frost plus 2 spells that damage enemies around him over time to the point of redundancy. Of course, boiling down abilities like this makes every hero seem lame, and I agree. Personally, I just really want to redesign his skill set to feel more interesting to play. At the same time, I want them to tie them better to his lore of a creature scarred upon learning the dark truth of life and his theme of malevolently using the elements of nature for his own ends. All this while trying to preserve his feel, strengths and weaknesses.

As a disclaimer, this rework is not intended to balance him but to explore more creative implementation of his abilities, so try not to focus on the numbers too much. Here is the current Leshrac for reference. Any unmentioned numbers are assumed to remain the same.

Primary Abilities

Rupture the earth in an area to damage enemies within.

They are also rotated to the other side of the circle.

Ability: Target Area
Mana Cost: 90, 110, 130, 150
Cooldown: 8
Cast Time: 0.75 + 0.75
Range: 600, 650, 700, 750
Radius: 300
Damage: Magical
Damage: 75, 150, 225, 300
Rotation Duration: 0.5

Distorting nature to his vile will, the shifting earth ravages all in his path.

  • Does not pierce spell immunity.
  • Enemies are fully disabled during the rotation.
  • Destroys all trees in the area. Mirena dota 2 guide dota fire leshrac

Torment an enemy hero, revealing and turning it neutral for 4 seconds.

Enemies around this target will be damaged over time.

Ability: Target Unit
Mana Cost: 150
Cooldown: 24, 20, 16, 12
Cast Time: 0.5 + 0.5
Range: 900
Radius: 450
Damage: Magical
Damage per Second: 40, 60, 80, 100

Cursed with knowledge, the Tormented Soul teaches others the cruel truth of existence and reality.

  • Think of neutral creeps that is considered an enemy to both teams.
  • Can attack and damage both teams.
  • Can be attacked and damaged by both teams.
  • It is no longer considered an ally of their original team.
  • Thus, positive auras and most positive buffs cannot affect it.
  • Effect and damage do not pierce spell immunity.
  • Effect cannot be dispelled.
  • The hero itself will not be damaged by this.
  • Provides shared vision to both teams.

Call lightning to strike an enemy, damaging and slowing it for 1 second.

The storm remains for 3 seconds, randomly striking enemies within.

Ability: Target Area
Mana Cost: 90, 110, 130, 150
Cooldown: 6
Cast Time: 0.5 + 0.5
Range: 900
Radius: 450
Damage: Magical
Move Slow: 20, 40, 60, 80%
Damage: 75, 125, 175, 225

Ever since becoming an elemental being, Leshrac can bend even the weather to strike down armies before him.

  • Does not pierce spell immunity and slow can be dispelled.
  • The storm remains stationary around the area where the initial target was struck.
  • The storm continues to strike a random enemy within it every 0.25 seconds.
  • Will never strike an enemy twice per cast.

Ultimate Abilities

Unleash saturated energy waves that damage all nearby enemies every second.

If this hits a tower or only 1 target, that enemy is slowed for 4 seconds.

Ability: Toggled
Mana Cost: 80, 100, 120
Mana Cost: 40, 60, 80
Cooldown: 1
Radius: 450
Damage: Physical
Damage per Second: 80, 140, 200
Move Slow: 20
Attack Slow: 20, 30, 40

Chronoptic energy bursts from one plane to another, evaporating anything it touches.

  • Damage pierces spell immunity but slow does not.
  • It can damage buildings, but only the closest one at a time.
  • On towers, the slow is always applied.
  • The slow is also applied to normal enemies if no other enemy, aside from buildings, is hit in that interval.
  • Continuous application of the slow only refreshes the duration.

Hero Talents

Discussion

  • Let’s go through each spell one-by-one, starting with the most different one: Diabolic Edict . Is its current form bad? Not really, but with such a similar in purpose ultimate on the same kit, it all feels quite redundant. So, I’ve dec >Kunkka , Magnus and Elder Titan . Imagine casting this on a carry against buff supports like Omniknight , Abaddon and Chen . The extra damage based around the target instead of himself to make it more unique and useful for isolation is just icing on the cake. This ability was inspired by the line in his lore of “He alone sees the evil truth of reality, and has no use for those who believe the cosmos reserves a special reward for those who practice benevolence”.

Pulse Nova remains largely the same. Instead of magical damage, it now deals the missing physical damage from his old Edict. More magic damage isn’t wrong, but I always felt the physical damage spell is more interesting. It now also incorporates the missing building damage from his old Edict, so he retains the unique pushing strength he has at the cost of more mana. Mirena dota 2 guide dota fire leshrac Overall, it still turns him into a disco pony who walks in the middle of tons of enemies to eviscerate them. However, it now also has a new mechanic if he walks into only one enemy. The slow isn’t the greatest but is definitely useful for helping him better chase and survive. Of course, going for this is not as efficient in terms of total damage for the mana cost so there is a tradeoff. Since the slow has a decent duration, he can pick off and tag specific enemies by toggling it on and off, but this also consumes more mana. Mirena dota 2 guide dota fire leshrac The isolating power of the new Diabolic Edict also synergizes well with this new component. Overall, these changes introduce more nuance into an ability that was otherwise just a tool for damage.

Split Earth is now Twist Earth. It still retains the damage and disable in an area, but the new displacement effect now truly showcases his ability to manipulate nature and foes alike as he sees fit. If you don’t understand what it does, just imagine Vacuum but instead of moving them to the center, enemies continue to move through the center and to a point equal to the distance from the center as they were before. With the delay removed but the stun incredibly shortened, the rotation effect introduces a new level of skill. Good use lets him move multiple enemies quite good distances but poor use will turn it into just an average nuke. All this truly makes the spell feel unique and not just a copy of Lina ‘s own area disable. Lightning Storm is reminiscent of its old form but in a style similar to Nimbus . It still damages and slows multiple enemies by ‘bouncing’ around them, but in a way that feels more like an actual storm and less like Lich ‘s ultimate. It trades some immediate power for better zoning, and the nature of the spell itself compliments the rest of his revamped kit.

Overview [ edit ]

Format [ edit ]

Each player will be placed into a bracket without any official seeding and play a best of 3 one vs. one mid only mirror match up, meaning that both players will play the same hero and are restricted to play in the middle lane only. The winner is the player who first gets two kills or destroys two towers.

The side, Radiant or Dire will be decided with a coin toss and winning player gets to chose sides and then alternate. The heroes of the first two rounds are decided with a draft and if a third and final game is needed, Shadow Fiend will be the default hero.

Drafting [ edit ]

To decide what hero is to be played both players pick two heroes, ranking them one and two. If the players pick four different heroes the highest ranked hero of each player will be played. If only one hero is the same, the ones that are not the same are used. Shadow Fiend is not draftable since he is reserved for an eventual game 3.

Doom

BIO

NIVEL 4: Tierra Quemada NIVEL 13: Tierra Quemada

NIVEL 6: Condenación NIVEL 15: Stats
NIVEL 7: Muerte de Nivel ? NIVEL 16: Condenación
NIVEL 8: Devorar NIVEL 17-25: Stats
NIVEL 9: Tierra Quemada

SteelSeries Siberia v2 Dota 2 Edition Headset and New Mousepads

SteelSeries, the worldwide leader in professional grade gaming peripherals along with Valve, developer of Dota 2 and creator of The International Tournament, today announced the Siberia v2 Illuminated Gaming Headset Dota 2 Special Edition which features an exclusive in-game item, Scythe of Vyse for Nature’s Prophet.

In addition to the new headset, SteelSeries will also roll out two new SteelSeries QcK+ mousepads featuring character artwork from the game. The Siberia v2 Dota 2 Edition headset lets the player experience the non-stop excitement of the game while enjoying an incredible soundscape, lightweight over-the-head suspension design and the ability to customize what you’re hearing through an easy-to-configure software suite. Red LED illumination on the outside of each earcup can also be customized to exact user specifications and profiles via the SteelSeries Engine. At an MSRP of $119.99, the headset is equipped with large, premium driver units for the loudest and clearest sound while its circumaural earcups are wrapped in soft leather for comfort and increased passive noise reduction.

The SteelSeries Siberia v2 Illuminated Gaming Headset Dota 2 Special Edition – $119.99 Combining lightweight comfort and an optimized soundscape with premium features the headset includes:

    • DOTA RED ILLUMINATION Super-bright, red LED lights that glow through the outer mesh grill on each earcup. The illumination offers 6 different modes and can be assigned to behavior and game specific profiles through the SteelSeries Engine, including: Active Mode (responsive pulsing to sound effects, music, and/or voice), Slow Pulse, Fast Pulse, High Bright, Low Bright and Off.
    • EXCLUSIVE IN-GAME ITEM The Scythe of Vyse for Nature’s Prophet has been originally designed and is available exclusively to players who purchase the SteelSeries Siberia v2 Dota 2 Edition headset.
    • NOISE-CANCELLING MICROPHONE & CONTROLS The Siberia v2 Dota 2 Edition headset features an active noise cancelling microphone system. The microphone processor reduces the “noise” and focuses on the sound that is closer to the mic, your voice. It can also retract into the left earcup when not in use. The headsets in-line volume and mute controls are found on a durable cord with a USB connector.

The SteelSeries QcK+ Dota 2 Edition Mousepads – $19.99
Each displaying unique character artwork from the game, the new SteelSeries QcK+ mousepads are comprised of the Tiny and the Vengeful Spirit Editions. The mousepads are composed of a high-quality cloth material and an optimized texture that guarantees both smoothness and glide while a non-slippery rubber base holds the mousepad in place. Because of its size, the QcK+ is perfect for players who are using low sensitivity settings or for those who prefer to have a larger, consistent surface for game play.

Attendees of The International 3, which will kick off in Seattle tomorrow, will be the first to purchase the new SteelSeries Siberia v2 Dota 2 Edition products. The headset and mousepads will be available to consumers via the SteelSeries Web Shop and other etail partners later this summer.
