Dota 2 Low GPU Usage = Low FPS

The game usually runs ok (I don’t get 120fps like ever, so screw playing 120hz monitors.)

But whenever a Meepo / Phantom Lancer / Bristle is involved the game runs garbage tbh.

Drops to like 40fps easily occur if I’m playing PL and get max illusions. Now I’ve got a 4690k and a GTX 970 so this really shouldn’t be happening.

I noticed with MSI Afterburner that my GPU usage pretty much never goes past 30%, and my cpu is about 60+%.

Something ain’t right.

Yes I’ve tried Prefer Max Performance in Nvidia control panel, and High performance for windows. Neither has helped this issue.

This occurred both on Source 1 and 2.

I have taken several steps that aveyo has suggested for troubleshooting and will be updating this with my progress.

– GPU-Z

2. Benchmarking Results

5. GPU Tracer

hi jacob29
check the power in your control panel put it on High performance
btw your gpu usages and cpu is ok dont worry about that part
but about the fps part you are right there is something wrong with new client
you can try open Gl in dota properties > DLC that can fix it for you
dont forgot to put – gl (runs on opengl) in your launch option after downloading it

you can try – high in your launch option too its puts the game in high priority in system tasks so you will have less fps drops

Sorry about the delay in response I couldn’t get to my computer over the weekend.

I tried openGL and – high.

Hero like PL still makes my fps drop to 50s still. It states 20 something on the screenshot but that was due to the screenshot software, it was actually around 50-60 bouncing around.

I tried it by watching a regular game and for the most part the openGL seems to perform slightly better, enough to stable me out at pretty much 60.

Without vsync I get max like 90fps so my 120fps dreams are still dead.

it may be possible that Dota 2 is using your iGPU. check you bios settings and make your dedicated GPU as Primary.

I don’t believe this is the case.

Within my BIOS IGD Multi-Monitor is set to Disabled, and the default is PEG (which I believe should be my GPU).

well my friend has titan x and still has the same problem i heard even ppl with x2 gtx 980 have some problems

this is game that is not optimized you can do some optimization in your nvidia control panel for best performance this can increase your fps also try my setting

animate portrait( if you turn off this it will give you +10 fps) + specular + high quality water + texture on high + shadow on high + render on high
turn everything else off until they fix the problem idk how much ram you have but if you have less than 4 i recommend using higher virtual memory also add – map dota in your launch option you can search about this
i did those stuff and getting same fps as you with a slower cpu (q9650) and gpu gtx960
this will help you until they fix the problem

Make sure you’ve set the option in the video settings to “exclusive fullscreen”. If its borderless or whatever it will not utilize your GPU properly and thus you might be getting the lower performance.

well my friend has titan x and still has the same problem i heard even ppl with x2 gtx 980 have some problems

I noticed that no matter the settings I still drop below 60fps most of the time, it just lowers the gpu usage. So instead of 50fps with 20% usage, i’ll instead get 52fps with 8% gpu usage. Might as well run 4k if I’m going below 60fps no matter what.

Sports and Action

ABS-CBN Sports on Jan 05, 2018 03:22 PM

Don’t miss the heart-pounding action of the various heroes in the virtual world of DoTA 2 as S+A and S+A HD broadcast the Finals of the “Galaxy Battles: Emerging Worlds”.

The new year already looks bright for the Philippine eSports community as ABS-CBN Sports enters into a partnership with the country’s first eSports and gaming talent agency Tier One to bring the Finals of the “Galaxy Battles: Emerging Worlds” DoTA 2 Major on January 21 on S+A and S+A HD.

Committed to provide Filipino viewers the best in sports entertainment, the sports arm of the Philippines’ leading media and entertainment company is ready for the first full-Tagalog eSports broadcast in the country featuring local Tier One talents and shoutcasters like Nico “Kuyanic” Nazario, Jaz “Heneral Tuna” Comoda, and Bianca “Biancake” Yao, who are regularly seen on WomboXcombo.

The entire Philippine gaming community will bear witness to the biggest gaming event of the year as 16 of the top teams in the world, which includes the Philippines’ own TNC Pro team, determine the champion as S+A and S+A HD broadcast the Finals of the “Galaxy Battles: Emerging Worlds” DoTA 2 Major on free TV on January 21.

ABS-CBN Integrated Sports head Dino Laurena said this partnership is part of the network’s advocacy to support local athletes as well as its continuous efforts to diversify the content on S+A, which remains as the country’s top sports channel on free TV.

“Our advocacy in sports also extends to the fast-growing community of Filipino gamers here, who have already shown that they can compete alongside the best in the world of eSports. We believe they can serve as role models in responsible gaming and show the youth how to raise their game to a competitive level, where dedication and discipline is needed and where it is definitely more than just clicking a mouse or a specific key on the keyboard,” said Laurena. Tier One chief executive officer Tryke Gutierrez, meanwhile, expressed excitement with this big development, which he considers as a landmark moment in local eSports.

“I truly believe that in order for eSports to be appreciated by a wider audience here in the Philippines, it has to be covered by local eSports talents in the local language. Most sports coverages are done in Tagalog, why not eSports?” I’m just happy to have one of the biggest networks in the country believe in what we’re trying to achieve,” he said.

eSports has been a rising phenomenon all over the world, especially in the last few years. Examples of this are instances such as the League of Legends World Championship drawing in over 30 million viewers and DoTA 2’s The International giving out prize pools of nearly Php 1.2 billion. It has grown to rival traditional sports as a must-watch modern spectacle of skill and competition. Other gaming events that have made their mark in the Philippine gaming world are the likes of the Manila Major and Manila Masters, which experienced tickets sold out for the duration of the tourney.

What is PeSO?

Now that the Manila Major is fast approaching, many people who are first-timers to the Philippine Dota 2 scene are asking about PeSO. Why did Valve and PGL gave the colossal task of co-producing the Spring Dota 2 Major to these guys?

(Full disclosure: eSports by INQUIRER. net is a project owned by PeSO in partnership with INQUIRER. net.)

Who are they?

The Philippine eSports Organization (PeSO) is an eSports entity that is the official Philippine representative to the International eSports Federation (IeSF), which is one of the largest eSports associations in the world. It carries the interests of the Filipino eSports community on the international arena. Dota 2 true stories latest philippine

In addition, the Philippine eSports Organization offers the following services:

A gaming and eSports news website (in partnership with the Inquirer Group, which is one of the largest publications in the country)
Events organization (technical and creative production)
Online production (talk shows, games streaming, etc.)

PeSO has done a good number of events over the past few years, with the eSports Festival in Cebu serving as their flagship exhibit. Here is the list of the things that they have done so far:

eSports Festival Cebu 2013
eSports Festival Cebu 2014
eSports Festival Cebu 2015
Razer NeXT Crossfire Tournament 2015
Razer NeXT Dota 2 Tournament 2015

Generally, these events are among the largest in the Philippines in their respective years, even attracting international teams such as MVP. Phoenix, Orange and MiTH. Trust, among others.

ESF Cebu is PeSO’s largest event up to this point.

PeSO is tasked as the local organizer and partner of PGL. Their tasks include dealing with the venue, internet, gov’t permits, suppliers, and making recommendations for Valve & PGL.

Going in line with its aim of delivering quality eSports and gaming events here in the Philippines, there have been no significant delays in their LAN events and generally, the organization has been able to deliver on the targets that they have set for each respective tournament that they made, quickly gaining a large following in the process.

Conclusions

Turning the Philippines into a truly world-class destination is the primary reason why the Philippine eSports Organization has strived to bring the Spring Dota 2 Major here to the country.

With the wealth of experience and local connections that they have, PeSO is determined to bring the Manila Major to the Filipino crowd along with one of the best events production teams in the world in the form of PGL.

The time has come.

HAPPY GUYS vs. Team Spirit head-to-head Dota 2 betting tips & form

This match-up begins on Friday, December 14, 2018 – 23:00 UTC+8.

The HAPPY GUYS will have their first encounter against Team Spirit in Dota 2 history today in the last day of the I Can’t Believe It’s Not Summit! group stage.

HAPPY GUYS have struggled so far in the group stage. Their only accolade was taking a single game from Vega Squadron in the first day of the group stage.

In their match-up against Alliance, they lost game one because Alliance drafted Phantom Assassin to their side to counter HAPPY GUYS’s Drow Ranger in middle lane.

With Phantom Assassin blur providing him a 20% evasion in early laning phase, Drow Ranger had no way to harass Phantom Assassin because Drow Ranger only able to deal physical damage. Not only that, Phantom Assassin also purchased a stout shield to allow himself have 50% chance to block 18 incoming damage.

Alliance had the game in their pocket as Phantom Assassin grabbed Battlefury at the 13-minute mark thanks to his good laning phase.

Phantom Assassin even got a rampage at the 28-minute mark in HAPPY GUYS’ base right before HAPPY GUYS called GG.

In game two, HAPY GUYS were very lucky because they drafted Magnus and Phantom Assassin. Almost every team is banning either Magnus or Phantom Assassin in the first banning phase, however, HAPPY GUYS and Alliance were not doing it.

Phantom Assassin along with Magnus in this patch is simply unstoppable because Phantom Assassin always have a chance to turn the tables around with few lucky critical hits and Magnus can always ensure Phantom Assassin has a good farm in the game.

Despite HAPPY GUYS having the dream picks, they still lost the game because their synergy in team fight was so bad and Phantom Assassin did not have any big critical hits that changed the team fight outcome.

Team Spirit currently stands at second place in the group stage with 5 wins and 3 loses. They must take down HAPPY GUYS here with 2-0 so they can secure a tiebreaker chance against NoPangolier for seeding into the winner bracket of the playoffs.

From their performance of late, taking down HAPPY GUYS is not a problem for them because HAPPY GUYS have bad synergy.

Team Spirit vs. HAPPY GUYS betting prediction

After running our eye through the drafting abilities and recent form, we give Team Spirit a 80% chance to win this best-of-two series match-up 2-0.

Our recommendation is to go medium and bet on Team Spirit to win this best-of-two series match-up 2-0 at better than $1.50 at BetOnline.

Introduction

Bounty Hunter, AKA Gondar. He is a Ganker/semi-carry who does well early to m > Bounty Hunter ‘s main strengths is his ability to gain HUGE amounts of gold after each kill, and that is why a good Bounty Hunter can have so many good items. Furthermore, due to this, once you start ganking and getting kills, you’ll find that the game gets easier for your team as: KILLS = GOLD = GOOD ITEMS + LEVELS = STRONGER = MORE KILLS , and the cycle repeats.

Honestly speaking, Bounty Hunter is quite fun to play and although he has weaknesses, he is not that hard to learn and play decently, compared to insanely difficult heroes such as Invoker and Meepo , and has an advantage over heroes like rikimaru, other heroes which rely heavily on invisiblility, and squishies like Sniper and Crystal Maiden

This gu > Bounty Hunter assuming you know his skills and have played him before, as well as laning, ganking, teamfighting strategies and what are the best skill and item builds to go for. I will try to go over everything in as much detail as possible, and if you think i missed out anything or if you have different opinions on certain areas, don’t hesitate to let me know in the comments below. Lets get started.

Pro’s and Con’s

PRO’S
– Above average base movement speed
– Your ultimate track allows you to have tons of gold if you’re playing right
– Great ganker
– Can snowball if he has got a good start
– Badass voice and catchphrases
– Good burst damage with a nuke and a crit
– Has an escape mechanism
– Can strike fear into enemies if doing well. They won’t see you coming without detection until it’s too late

CON”S
– Squishy
– Can be countered by detection, disables, stuns, etc.
-Needs a few levels before he can be effective
– requires map and situation awareness to be effective
– If you don’t get kills, chances are the game will not go well

skill build explanation

At level 1, get 1 point in Shadow Walk JUST IN CASE you need to get out of a bad situation. You never know, if you stup >BEFORE THE GAME EVEN STARTS , it’s BAM , first blood for them. So, just play safe.

Then, max out Jinada . Never underestimate this skill. It costs NO MANA , and you can use it to harass. Plus, it will help with the last hitting. While laning, you can just pop shadowwalk, walk up to the squishy hero and with Jinada , you can take off a chunk of their health. Most of the time, when you hit them with Jinada , they will turn around and back off, giving you a few free hits on them. Just be careful. Please don’t go in and get hit by 2 stuns + a nuke and die.

Why don’t you max Shuriken Toss first?,you may be asking. This may depend on the situation, but personally, I like to max Jinada first. Why?,Well, take a look at the skill. It scales from 100/200/250/325. As a result, getting 2 levels in Shuriken Toss will suffice early game. Furthermore, although the damage is most useful and prominent early game, try not to use it because of your tiny mana pool. For example, at level 3, for 50 mana, you will be dealing about (50+30)X2 damage with Jinada and Shadow Walk which is 160 damage approx plus movement and attack speed slow. Compare this with Shuriken Toss , which at level 3 you will have a level 2 Shuriken Toss if you choose to max it. For 115 mana( half you whole mana pool) you will deal 200 damage and a mediocre ministun.

After Jinada is maxed, proceed to put 2 points in Shuriken Toss because it scales 100 damage per point until level 2 Shuriken Toss . Then, get a second point in Shadow Walk , as this will allow you stay permanently invisible if you can afford the mana cost. After that, max Shuriken Toss and then lastly, Shadow Walk .

Of course, get Track at levels 6, 11, and 16. IT’S FREE GOLD, COME ON WHY NOT ? And get stats at levels 15, 17 and above, obviously.

item build explanation

For starting items, grab a Tango and a Healing Salve , as well as 3 Iron Branch and a Stout Shield . The Tango and Healing Salve are for early regeneration. The Stout Shield will prov >damage block . This will help you to resist a bit of harassment from enemies as well as allow to to withstand the creep aggro when you try to hit enemies with Jinada . Furthermore, you will be upgrading the stout shield into a Poor Man’s Shield later.

For early game items, get the items in this order: Poor Man’s Shield > Boots of Speed > Magic Wand (optional) > Blades of Attack > Phase Boots . The Poor Man’s Shield gives you damage block and +6 agility for a relatively cheap price. Get Magic Wand for some stats and if the enemy heroes are spamming spells. If you have some charges on your Magic Wand it can save your life.

Now for your core items. In my Bounty Hunter games I ALMOST ALWAYS go for a Desolator and a Medallion of Courage . Together that will be a -12 armor for any enemy hero you encounter. That means your attacks with bonus from Shadow Walk and Jinada will hit harder. You can easily take off a quarter of an agility or intelligence hero’s total HP. Get the Medallion of Courage before the Desolator simply because it’s cheaper.

Some people get a battlefury for Bounty Hunter . I personally don’t like this item on this hero. A battlefury is an item for carries to increase their farm, not for a ganker like you. Sure, the +60 damage and HP and mana regen are nice, but the cleave is totally wasted. You should be getting kills instead of farming in the jungle with a battlefury. And it costs 4000+ gold too. I’m not saying its a bad item, it’s just that there are better items you can get instead of a battlefury.

Ahh. late game. If you ever get these items, good job, it’s most likely “gg” for the other team. After you finish your core, get them in any order: Butterfly , Sange and Yasha , Heart of Tarrasque and a Divine Rapier (just for kicks).

If there are many nukers and disablers out there(in most cases), don’t be afra > Black King Bar . If you want some lifesteal for you and your team, get a vladimir’s offering. Enemy carry has evasion or has just bought a Butterfly ? Just buy a Monkey King Bar .

In games where I am winning and have all the items i could want, this is my finished inventory most of the time: Phase Boots , Black King Bar , Sange and Yasha , Butterfly , Desolator , and Monkey King Bar .

Alienware Cup Down to Six

In the first game of the day, Orange NeoES took on Zenith , who have been trying to play outside of their comfort zone and continued to do so in the first game of the series, which ended in quick and dominant win for Orange, who dominated the lanes with strong laning cores such as Outworld Devourer, Weaver and Lone Druid, forcing the ‘GG’ by 18 minutes in. While Zenith kept the game going slightly longer the second time around with their favoured Tinker pick, they still got badly outplayed and outfarmed, losing ground and eventually their base by 30 minutes, making it one of the fastest series of the playoffs so far, as Orange took it 2-0 in less than 50 minutes.

Going up against TongFu , many were prepared to write off LGD. Int straight off the bat, but confounding expectations seems to fit well for LGD’s International squad, who seem to finally be finding their own style of play after being lost for so long, as they dominated TongFu early on and used a highly farmed Per Anders ‘ Pajkatt‘ Olsson Lille Lifestealer in order to out-carry the Anti-Mage of Chen ‘ Hao‘ Zhihao.

For the rest of the series, TongFu changed up their gameplan going for multiple cores and stronger lanes, dominating LGD. Int in the second game and gaining the advantage in the third, being able to split push and divide up the fights in order to avoid LGD. Int’s stronger teamfight abilities. Running just shy of 60 minutes, the final game of the series came down to a six slotted Divine Rapier Gyrocopter by Pajkatt trying to contend with Weaver, Dragon Knight and Nature’s Prophet while two Barracks down, ultimately being split up and outpushed, as TongFu made their way into the next stage of the competition by the skin of their teeth.

Coming Up Next

The next matches of the lower bracket were drawn live on stream after the final games, in order to determine the opponents for DK and Invictus Gaming .

Orange vs. Invictus Gaming

Orange have had the stronger showings as of late, and even though there are certains issues regarding their core players and how the distribute farm accross them in certain games, the supports of Orange have been on point in terms of rotations, as well as the whole team producing consistent results. Meanwhile iG coasted through the groupstages without really being forced to up their level of play, and in their first real test up against Na`Vi they crumbled, indicating that they have not quite yet recovered from their slump. All in all, Orange has the advantage going into the series.

TongFu vs. DK

A preview of the Dota 2 Super League Grand Final, two of the strongest current Chinese teams will head it off in order to stay in the competition. While TongFu at their best show great consistent plays, they’ve also shown signs of weakness, as they can be beaten on lanes as well as in teamfight execution. Meanwhile DK certainly have the lategame execution, but they may not be best suited to exploited TongFu’s weaknesses. It seems likely that the outcome will come down to how well Fan ‘ r0tk‘ Bai and Junhao ‘ Super‘ Xie execute their respective duties, as TongFu seem better suited to punish a 4-protect-1 strategy than a multicore lineup.

Alienware Cup Finals Preview

The Alienware Cup is nearing a close, after a group stage that saw the best in the world pitted against one another for the right to take home a piece of the $60,000 prize purse. Fittingly the tournament we like to think of as ‘The International-lite’ is ending with an East vs West battle, as a top-of-their-game LGD will see how they match up against a recently revitalized Natus Vincere.

With both of these teams showing their best form as of late anything can go down, and in a best-of-5 affair it would be a surprise not to see some wild card heroes or strategies make an appearance.

Get ready for the games because they will be a doozy.

Bringing Hardware Home

By Heyoka

The Unofficial World Champion is a storied tradition here, or at least has been for the last month and a half after we cribbed the idea from someone else. Giving a highly accurate, highly important way to track who is currently the king of the Dota 2 hill, this is an important means for fans to cheer for their favorite team to add an achievement of extreme class and the highest prestige to their resume.

Of course, a designation this grand isn’t without complications. In a game like Dota where Chinese and European teams only meet a few times a year, it means the title can be essentially region locked for months at a time, destined to bounce around within the continents that often play one another. Had Alliance walked away with it at G-1 League finals, for instance, their SEA counterparts may not even have had a chance to get it back until August when The International rolls around. In the grand scheme of things, though, this is also the beauty of The Unofficial World Champion title. Should one of the determined ‘white dude’ teams grab hold of its theoretical and imaginary metal (gold, presumably) casing, they can keep it in their own continent while shouting a hearty “nyah-nyah” as their friends in South-East Asia look on longingly. Forlorn, filled with sadness that their name isn’t plastered atop internet lists.

Luckily Na`Vi is here to give those in the West a chance at just that. Trusty Na`Vi, twice champions of Ehome in 2011, at The International and then ESWC, they have proven they have what it takes to bring down the Chinese. They’re ready and capable, and now that we track a superior metric, it is imperative they find the drive to bring it home. After all, they were the first to hold it. Would have been anyway, had it been a real thing.

They must win. For honor, for glory, for whatever other things accompany an Alienware Cup victory (I guess money? there is a lot of money). But most importantly, to bring that trophy to Europe.

Grand Finals Preview

By riptide

The Alienware Cup has given us weeks of Chinese Dota, and we’re here now at its culmination. LGD and Na`Vi will meet later today in the Grand Finals and, in the space of five games, will give us a glimpse at the upper echelons of TI3.

Though it’s foolhardy to predict playoff standings in a tournament that is as storied and diverse as Valve’s yearly world championship, the fact remains that with less than a month to go, the finals of a competition like the Alienware Cup give us a good indication of what we can expect from the scene in Seattle this August. But let’s not beat around the bush here: LGD is the best team in the world. The last stages of TI2 were all about the five man Dota that iG pioneered, and TI3 is going to be no different. Patches have come and gone, but multicore is still the name of the game. This, sports fans, is why LGD will shine, both in tomorrow’s Alienware Cup Finals and in TI3.

LGD are a team. Though nearly all major Chinese teams live and play together, LGD has the unique advantage of being a ‘true’ five-man team. They are not dependent on a single core like DK, and in fact, they didn’t do particularly well when the meta still favoured four-protect-one. In the current meta, however, they are pure gold. They have three solid cores in Sylar, Xiao8 and Yao, all three of whom are capable of playing a plethora of carries and semi-carries. In fact, while Sylar is still seen as their #1, we often see him being run at #3 these days, and the team is no less effective when doing so. In short, they are absolutely flexible, meaning that their opposition never knows who they will face in lane. However, they are also completely reliable. In fact, with their unshakeable three core leaning on the rock solid support of DD and DDC, they are nearly unbeatable at this point in the game’s development. Nearly. But LGD can be beaten. To do so, you just need to beat them in every stage of the game. You have to out-draft them, out-lane them and then beat them in the mid and late game as well. Most importantly, however, you need to catch them off guard by doing something so completely out there that they haven’t yet prepared a way to respond to it.

And there’s one team that can do just that.

The Na`Vi roster is wide and varied, and in terms of pure talent they are among the top three teams in Western Dota. Alienware cup dota 2 finals It’s true that they haven’t shown the best results this year, but that’s generally expected following a major restructuring. If anything, their performance in the AC playoffs show that they are now coming together as a team. They have one of the best mid players in the world in Dendi, and world-class supports in KuroKy and Puppey. Funn1k is a great offlaner, and XBOCT, despite the criticisms levelled at him, is a carry that works for Na`Vi. He fits their team beautifully, and unlike many other carries, he can play around his team, and not vice versa. Alienware cup dota 2 finals What remains to be seen, then, is how Na`Vi plays today. In yesterday’s games versus iG, they looked like a team and played like a team, with solid initiations and great team fights. They’re not yet the Na`Vi that comes to mind when we think of the play from TI2, but they’re certainly getting there. So, can they out-draft LGD? Certainly. Puppey is capable of going toe-to-toe with Xiao8 in that department. Can they outlane them? Dendi – yes, and on a good day, everyone else – yes. Can they beat them in mid and late game fights? It depends. If they play like they did yesterday, they certainly stand a chance. But if they are hyper-aggressive and allow XBOCT to run riot even for a moment, LGD will punish them mercilessly. In short, Na`Vi cannot make mistakes tomorrow. If they don’t, they may well take this series and set the tone for TI3.

The biggest question of the Alienware Cup Grand Finals, then, supersedes the tournament itself. This is the second Chinese tournament this summer to feature an East vs West matchup in the finals. It is also the second time this year that LGD faces a foreign team on home soil in a championship series. More importantly, however, this bo5 is also a precursor to TI3, and the question remains: TI1 went West, TI2 went East – where will TI3 go? This series may just give us a hint.

One of the most feared gankers in the game, Balanar the Night Stalker is a strong hero that can dominate games during the night time. This night time period that makes him strong is his unique characteristic, to balance it out, he is very weak during the day time.

He is a very easy hero to play since he doesn’t require much farm early on and his skillset is pretty straightforward.

Night time comes for you!

Pros and Cons

  • + Very fast during the night
  • + Tanky due to high Str
  • + Spammable nuke that deals a good amount of damage
  • + Can get legal maphack (more on this later)
  • – Melee
  • – Single Target
  • – Loses a lot of his power during the day

Dota 2 – Night Stalker Abilities

Void
Creates a damaging void that slows an enemy unit and deals damage. Void also mini-stuns, interrupting channeling abilities. The slowing effect lasts longer at night.

  • Day Duration: 2
  • Night Duration: 4
  • Move Slow: 50%
  • Attack Slow: 35%
  • Damage: 90/160/255/335
  • Cooldown: 8 seconds
  • Manacost: 80/90/100/110

Your main nuke, it has a ministun as well as a slow that lasts for either 4seconds during the night or 2 seconds if used during the day.

Cripling Fear
Night Stalker horrifies the target enemy Hero, causing it to miss attacks and become silenced. The effect lasts longer at night.

  • Day Duration: 3
  • Night Duration: 5/6/7/8
  • Day Chance to Miss: 10%
  • Night Chance to Miss: 40%

Your means to keep enemies with blinks, invisible and other kind of escape skills from running away .

Hunter in the Night
Night Stalker is in his element at night, attacking and moving with great swiftness.

  • Move Speed: 20%/25%/30%/35%
  • Attack Speed: 30/45/60/75

The passive that makes him very fast during night time.

Darkness
Night Stalker smothers the sun and summons instant darkness, so that he might use his powers at their fullest. When used at night, it extends night time by Darkness’ duration.

  • Duration: 25/50/80 seconds
  • Cooldown: 180/150/120

In trouble during the day? Cast it and it’s night again. Want to gank someone but it’s day? Just cast it. However, the optimal use is to just use it whenever it is night, since it will extend it. When Darkness is maxed, you can make the game go almost perma night by using it everytime cooldown is over.

  16. Darkness

This is the standard Night Stalker build. You max the Void for obvious reasons since it’s your main killing tool. You take a level of silence at level 2 for utility purposes and sometimes you can even get a kill with the short 3 seconds of silence during the day.

Hunter in the Night doesn’t do absolutely nothing during the day, but you take it at level 4 because night comes soon when you are level 5,6 or 7. Darkness is taken whenever possible since it will allow extending the night, as well as getting the extra speed when it’s day.

Night Stalker Recommended items

Starting: Gauntlet, Gauntlet, Branch, Branch, Salve, Tango
These starting items will give you some nice stats to get some last hits as well as giving extra hp.

Core: Boots of Speed, Magic Wand, Urn, Bottle, TP Scroll
These items are all you need to start the killing. They will take care of both your regen and mana needs. Urn is a very good item to pick since night time should grant you a lot of kills, keeping your Urn with lots of charges to heal yourself and your team, as well as using it offensively to damage enemies.

Boots Choice: either Phase Boots or Power Treads
His passive almost grants him max move speed, so the phase ability won’t boost you by much, but it will let you run without being blocked. The stats from treads are also nice and you can change them to int if you need some extra mana. Night stalker dota 2 item build

Ultimately both are viable, his passive already grants him 75 attack speed so in the beginning you will want to complement it with more damage that phase gives, instead of attack speed that treads give. I recommend you try both several times and stick to which one you like the most.

Strong Extensions: Aghanim Scepter, Vanguard, Black King Bar, Armlet
These items will further boost your survivability. Scepter will give you unobstructed vision during the night time AKA the legal maphack. It gives you a vision with a radius even bigger than an Observer Ward. It will tell you if enemies are alone and all their offensive movements.

The only downside is that it only works during the night. Vanguard will give you some hp and the damage block will allow you to dive towers and take more hits. BKB to make you magic immune against stunners and disablers. Armlet will give you some cheap damage and hp, if you can use it.

Luxuries: Assault Cuirass, Basher, Heart of Terrasque
Assault will give you a lot of armor and attack speed, while also helping your team and lowering enemy armor. Basher is a nice addition after it because you will have a lot of attack speed that will grant you some bashes during the team fights.

Heart will make you very very hard to kill as well as giving you a ton of regeneration when outside fights.

Night Stalker Strategy Tips

In the beginning, either choose the solo mid, or go to the safe lane with a support since he is not a very strong laner. Aim for boots and urn before the first night.

Night Stalker should gank during the night and farm during day time. However don’t suicide during the night (pick your targets beforehand and account for missing heroes) and don’t take farm from your team’s carry.

The best counter for Night Stalker is a simple TP scroll, sometimes you can’t just use Void to start the gank or enemies will just teleport away. Other times when you are killing people, their allies will try to teleport to counter your ganks.

Aghanim Scepter should be obtained in almost every game, it is THAT good. The only way you get caught out of position during the night is when you are answering the phone or something.

During the night you have a lot more vision than other heroes, so you can react faster to enemy presence than them can react to you. But the opposite is also true during the day since NS has very low sight.

Try not to prolong games too much, even if you can dominate the early game, at late game there are a lot of heroes that can take you on easily if they get farmed. Sometimes people playing Night Stalker get too overconfident and don’t realize that they can’t kill certain heroes anymore.

i swear to god, every time i had like 4 games won then i have like 4 games lost

it’s like valve puts me with bad players each time i win to make sure i’ll never get out of the 3000 mmr

and believe me, russians are not the problem, it’s kids that spam chat and idiots who don’t co-operate

so i’m really curious if that’s true, each time you win you get worse mates.

Obviously you belong at 3,000 MMR. If you were better than that your MMR would raise, you would keep winning games until you reach your “true MMR” and then you would go back to winning / losing normally.

A 5k+ MMR player asks for and gets a 2.9K account to play on in order to test. The results will probably surprise you.

Unfortunately I am not a good player

How lucky this guy is when hes never in the game where everyone pick carries/ or 3 mid players.

A kid rage at your build and play style decided to feed enemy team just to proved that you are wrong and dont F with them.
A support lion save every ulti for ks, or first pick pudge/ invoker by fanboys.

If i want to win I play mid every game and turn out I cant handle the pressure while they ask me to gank at 6 min, no ward for rune control. Offlaner want to farm and die over and over again.

I’m not saying that im good player but from 3k4 -> 3k is something I didnt intentionally do. For every 3 win I received like 5 loss in a row ?? Because matching system balance out my win rate . My longest winning steak in MMR is 8 games in a row and I lost every single game after that O. O

1 last thing im not saying that this guys is noob, he super awesome how he can raise an 2k9 account to 5k.

i don’t think i deserve 5K
but definitely deserve 4K

best omni you’ll ever see, i always pick the support because no one else will!
or people will pick the support and play them very ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

dude luck yourself .

This ♥♥♥♥ of solo ranked (and dota if continue in this way) is unbalanced . i always lose 2-3 , win one , lose 2-3 , win one ,— I made to climb to 2800-2900 . pam , this “wave” of balanced matchmaking , and always in 2700.
It’s not me , i can provide a full page of match id’s with a screenshot , i always get paired with those “5 team full carry” and I ALWAYS PLAY AS SUPPORT (don’t be part of the problem. ) and with DEAF and BLIND people with 0 map awareness . I can’t simply “improve” and up in the rank with these types of players . I COUNTER , i put wards , i stack and pull , i deward , i try to sacrifice for my team and let the carry farm .
So , it’s supposed to be like a pro player ? i pick a solo lane , mute all people and carry the game by myself to improve . this is a ♥♥♥♥ing joke.

Im waiting to another good moba for abandon this depressing , unbalanced and moneyshaker game (i don’t like HoN , lol and blizzard one. )

Lets put things as they are, Rogue is talking about Juice and Juice is one in a million cases, most people say oh but they did it and others did it.. with broken heroes like people like to say, in fact they had a mix of luck, decent team mates and heroes that scale up pretty quick ingame , its about as simple as that.

This bulls**t about, if you cant get out of 3k then ur at your level, or 3K-4K players suck is utter bull***t, look at , for eg. the Dotabuff stats, a good chunck of the players there at the top ( not all ) are,

1. Exploiters ( ursa wisp / ursa wr / pick your flavour )
2. Premades ( pre – MMR )
3. Boosted accs.
4. LPQ abusers
5. Pick a funny server with a funny language pref.. poof*

Simple, and most got their huge MMR from the Pre MMR time when premade “abuse” ( i dont like the word in this case but lets call it so ) was the thing to get a high W/R ( the epeen measurement of choice at the time ) .

Fact is Valve fked up big time in using the data that everyone already had in terms of MMR, calibration sucked not because some people had more then 1000 games but simply because instead of reseting the MMR rating everyone had to Zero ( 0 ) and going from there on for all they used what they had, so you get smurfs, premades and so on at a level where they should not be, never ever.

Now someone in the Dev. Forums said, Valve sees more then what they make people believe ( a fu***ng genious statement but a correct one at that ) and Valve knew this crap would happen, now thing is, they dont give a rats a**e about the issue otherwise you’d have a Solo Queue and a Mixed Queue for instance, you’d have smurfs used to boost other accounts removed and websites for MMR Boosting services or Acc trading reported and the accounts there created and sold / boosted / whatever removed also.

Noone of this crap was done so its very very hard , in the sense that it takes a shtload of time and patience to overcome the 2.5k – 3k mark and go upwards and deal with your usual noob, the smurf from that 5k troll that wants to ruin other people’s games and the miriad obstacles you find while climbing the ladder.

Is there a ELO-Hell? No there’s none, the problem , the base problem is and will always be a badly implemented system, hence why “normal” or unranked Matchmaking is better atm then the Ranked one.

You want out of 2k – 3k.. pick a carry, a decent one, and keep at least 2 or 3 things, basic things in mind

1. its 1 vs 9 mostly
2. Game is won by pushing towers and poping the Ancients rear end
3. You cant win them all so dont rage .

and last but not least. at 4k – 5k it doesnt get any better trust me. 😛
