The Evil Within 2: How to get and fix the broken sniper rifle early
Don’t wait until later chapters to get your hands on the sniper rifle in The Evil Within 2.
One of the best weapons in The Evil Within 2 is the sniper rifle. It’s obviously great for headshots and long distance takedowns, and is vital for clearing out enemies while staying relatively safe.
Before you go for the Sniper Rifle, go find the Warden Crossbow and remember to take note the location of safe houses so you can duck in to top up your health.
Unfortunately the sniper rifle is hidden away in the town of Union and if you don’t go looking for it, it can be as late as Chapter 11, 12 or 13 before you come across it. But if you’re willing to take a risk early on you can grab it at the start of Chapter 3. It’s during this chapter that you can also find the Warden Crossbow and bolts, as well as well as tracking down a bunch of other firearms, from a pistol with a laser sight to shotguns.
How to fix the sniper rifle
The problem with grabbing the sniper rifle early in the game is that it’s broken when you find it. But don’t worry, we can help you find a kit to fix that.

Now you’re safe, go grab the Sniper Rifle Parts along with the Sniper Rifle ammo, and head to the handy workbench inside the shed where you can craft the Sniper Rifle parts to the Broken Sniper Rifle.
Now you have a great weapon early in the game, and should feel that bit more safer and confident exploring Union. Maybe test it out on that Lament we mentioned earlier?

The latest updates not just brought cosmetics changes to the game but how you interact with it as well. To give you a background, earlier this year, Valve announced Source Engine 2. And, within a few weeks, the availability of Dota 2 Reborn Beta was made public. This was the new game client for Dota 2 based on the Source 2 Engine. The latest updates have scrapped the older client completely and in its place made the Reborn client, the main game client.
Valve also has plans to update the rest of its games — Counter Strike and Team Fortress 2 to the new game engine. We might also see Valve finally announcing the next Half-Life game in the series (GabeN, please), but all these things are for some other day. Let’s turn our attention back to Dota 2.
What has changed?
Well, a lot, there is a new dashboard, the UI has been reworked and small map elements have been changed. Let’s start with the new dashboard first.
Dashboard: Your new command center
The dashboard of the game has been redesigned to suit the tastes of a growing and newer audience. The top tabs have been shrunken down to just four from the usual six with the inclusion of a new menu called “Custom games”. While custom games or mods have been around for some time now, Valve is now finally letting them in the game. More on that later.
The main home page now looks like Steam’s Store page, as instead of the large update window, it now has smaller windows which open into more sub-menus. The top three panel hold the updates info and below that, two windows hold popular custom game launchers and the last one holds the Tutorial launcher.
Just press the “Play” button
The ‘Chat’ and ‘Friends’ window are now replaced by a more prominent player mini-profiles, and a friend’s feed window underneath. However, the most significant changes are done to chat and the match finding menu. The chat has now moved to the lower left corner of the dashboard which is now available all the time. The chat integrates channels, lobbies, private messages and more, all of which can be accessed from a single message box. Quite nifty, we must say. The best bit here is the new match finding menu, which simply slides from the right side when you click on the ‘Find Match’ button. You can just select what match type you want to play and go on poking into other menus and the “Finding Match” icon will remain visible wherever you move into the game.
Another good addition to match finding is the new accept bar. Once the server finds players, you can see who denied the match or who was AFK. This will make it much easier to single out and blame the person because of whom the match finding was abandoned. Talking of which, the ‘Friends’ menu slides out from the bottom as soon as you click on the friends icon in the bottom. From there, simply select who you want to invite to your party and start playing. Another neat feature is the small antenna looking icon right next to the friends list which will let you broadcast that you are looking to play and won’t mind joining a part. You can also check stats of your friends from the last twenty games by clicking on their icon, and compare your stats with theirs as well. Good for gloating purposes, we believe.
Heroes get the limelight they deserve
Moving into the Heroes tab. The redesigned tab has heroes at the very centre of things. The new UI is far more friendly and intuitive than any other MOBA game we have seen so far. Filters are abundant, whether you are looking for your favourites hero, most played or if you just want to personalise a hero, it is all here. If you are interested in an in-game item like an “Arcana set” for example, just tap onto it and try it. One can also try a hero then and there from the menu to give players a taste of all the abilities and general behaviour of the character. This will ascertain an easy transition for gamers who want to improve their skills or just want to try out unplayed heroes.
Live games with stats
The watch tab and its elements have also been reworked and the match-watching experience itself is crafted from the ground up in the Reborn update. While you still get a similar set of sub-menus, more elements have been added to enhance the viewing experience. In Reborn, you will be able to watch live matches with snap-on stats, separate chat windows and more. Big tournaments or “Featured Tournaments” will cater more info on current positions, brackets, caster and more.
Don’t be a NOOB anymore
The Learn tab now adds two more features for the newcomers in the game. There is a new mechanics tutorial as well as new guided bot matches in addition to the usual bot matches. The guided bot matches will provide in-game tips to help novices improve their game. The cherry on the cake: Custom games
Yes, this is the most fun part of this entire new update, “Custom Games”. Just like in-game items, custom games will be developed by developers. While previous custom game mods like “Pudge Wars” are here, Valve developed a custom game “Overthrow” which is currently ruling our hearts. The supremely fun, fast paced, deathmatch is a delight to play and might turn into a separate game some day, now where did we hear that before? Well, more games are in the works and with a community as big as Dota 2, it should be an easy audience to please.
What about the gameplay?
Well, the gameplay has remained untouched in this entire process. However, thanks to the new Source 2 Engine, the detailing on the map is now better. Some of you might have observed that till now. Some areas in the map have been tweaked to look better and Valve has sparked some more butterflies and squirrels onto the map, the usual stuff.
So, What’s next?
At the moment, nothing. Valve is still patching up things with Dota 2 receiving small updates almost every day. Besides that, more custom games will be available via the game. And, Valve is still developing new characters so we might see a new hero before the year end.

Dota 2 is a free-to-play MOBA game (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) developed by Valve in which two teams (The Radiant and the Dire) fight for supremacy in real-time using heroes. The main goal is to destroy the enemy base before they destroy yours. To do this, your team should go through three different paths or lanes and destroy the towers that block the way to the opposing base while you kill or get killed by enemy heroes.
This game began as a modification of a Warcraft III map created by the user IceFrog, Defense of the Ancients (DotA). Now, the game is the result of Valve’s recruitment of the DotA developers to create a complete product. The game has aspects of its predecessor and a set of new features. It includes new game mechanics and heroes that weren’t possible if the game was just a modification of the former title. Dota 2 has a massive audience and a huge community, since competitive e-sports have become so popular nowadays. In fact, there are several tournaments in which teams from all around the world meet and compete for prizes, such as The International.
The battle begins now
First of all, you have to choose a hero. Heroes are playable characters which have their own abilities and detailed design. There are a vast array of heroes in Dota 2, divided according to their main attribute: Strength, Agility or Intelligence. Strength heroes are physical damage dealers and most of them are tanks. However, they have varied roles. For instance, Treant Protector is considered a lane support and a disabler, while Spirit breaker is a durable initiator. Agility heroes are sneaky and deadly, like Broodmother, who can hide in a spider web and wait until her prey walks by, or Slark, who is almost impossible to catch if he decides to run away from battle. Intelligence heroes are mainly mages and dark sorcerers with destructive powers. Skywrath mage is a good example of this, since he can unleash the power of arcane magic upon his enemies. However, the difficulty of some heroes is variable. Some of them are easy to use, like Earthshaker, Omniknight or Timbersaw, whilst others require certain skills, like Anti-Mage, Phantom Lancer or Meepo, who is able to duplicate at will, allowing the player to control the copies.
When the match begins, players must procure some starting items. Killing creeps, other players or destroying towers will grant you gold, with which you can buy items to complete your build. Builds are sets of different objects; you are free to combine them to create your own custom builds and strategies depending on the situation. Bear in mind that if you have gathered loads of money and you die, you will lose part of it, so we strongly recommend you to put some items in your stash the moment you can afford them. During the game, the heroes will do tasks according to their roles to take the advantage in the match. For instance, supports should give vision to the team by placing truesight wards. These consumables grant a small area of vision in the map, which may seem trivial, but these wards win matches. Carry characters must farm as much as they can in order to get the best objects while the support denies the ability to farm from the enemy. There is also an important objective for both teams: Roshan. This neutral monster lives in his lair, located at the right side of the river. If a team manages to kill him, he will drop an item, Aegis of the immortal, which grants an instant re-spawn for the carrier if he/she dies in battle.
After the match, players will be rewarded randomly with either a chest, a professional player card or a cosmetic item for a specific hero. Chests can be opened with keys. You can purchase keys from the in-game store with real money. Cosmetics can also be bought paying for them if you don’t want to wait for them to drop.

Meaning that when a player says something in a different language it would show up on your screen as the language you set your settings to, that way we can all communicate, even if the translation is not accurate at least you would get an idea of what they re saying.

Spirit Breaker is only OP to people who don’t know how to counter him. With your fixes he would be the most useless hero in the game.
Alright, so I’ve been hearing quite a few Spirit Breaker OP please nerf threads and I’ve decided to suggest some fixes to Spirit Breaker. 1) Spirit Breaker’s Bash should not go through BKB. Getting BKB against Spirit Breaker does not block against the Bash, just the damage. This is very irritating as you would feel that Spirit Breaker goes through the BKB. With Mask of Madness, you’re still permabashed against Spirit Breaker. 2) Increase the cooldown of Spirit Breaker’s charge of darkness from 35 to 55. 3) Increase the damage of his bash. Yes, you heard it correctly. Increase the damage. Make it take 15/25/35/45 % of MS instead of 10/20/30/40. This works in conjunction with his empowering haste nerf. 4) Lower his empowering haste from 6/10/14/18 to 3/8/11/15. 5) Make him vulnerable when he is using his ultimate and increase the Aghanium’s cooldown from 20 to 30. However, increase the damage his ultimate does from 150/250/350 to 220/340/450. 6) Decrease his bash chance from 17% to 15%. Increase the cooldown from 1.5s to 2s. With these fixes, Spirit Breaker would still be a powerful ganking force early game but lose his value lategame. This would make him as balanced as other gankers which like Spirit Breaker, would lose their effectiveness as the game goes by.

1 : Spirit Breaker has 2 inbuilt bashes and one triggers around every 1.5 seconds with MoM. The bash time is 1.6s. This is extremely long and this makes buying BKB useless against him. 2 : Its not long at all. Spirit Breaker charging time itself is actually around 20 seconds or more. Once he gets his kill with his ultimate, he only has around 15 seconds to wait before his next charge. 5 : Spirit Breaker still has his uses. His ultimate’s duration before the strike is so fast, if the victim manages to react and stun, he deserves to live. Also, Spirit Breaker usually 1st charges, performs a Greater Bash then Ults. His ult has 1 second delay. The victim is usually still under his bash. 6 : Name me a ganker that is better than Spirit Breaker. Spirit Breaker has an extremely powerful global presence and as long as you are visible to him, you’re vulnerable. Even invis heroes wouldn’t be able to escape. He can still charge them and dust.
The Grand Finals will be a rematch of an earlier encounter, which turned out badly for HGT in the WB Final. If you missed what happened the last time the two teams met, we’ll get you up to speed.
WB Finals Game 1 – Sylar’s Morphling takes over HGT
LGD went with their classic draft – farm heavy Morphling, space creating Ember Spirit and ending up with a high nuke damage support duo. HGT knowing that they can‘t fight against the Morphling late game, took early to mid-game lane dominators such as Juggernaut + Io for the aggresive trilane and a mid Troll Warlord to stop the Ember.
Until the 7th minute mark the game was going HGT‘s way with the aggressive trilane getting 2 early kills. LGD only wanted to get levels for their heroes early, but Injuly’s signature Clockwerk performed a superb counter gank, which ended up in 5 kills and a huge gold/experience swing.
HGT got crippled past their early game, as they decided to take on LGD near Roshan’s pit, but lost all five of their heroes due to LGD’s superior positional play, resulting in both a triple kill as well as an Aegis for Sylar’s Morphling. After that battle LGD got their key items against physical dps and barged into HGT‘s Top and Mid Barracks.
Silly mistakes such as TP cooldowns and BKB activations at wrong times haunted the HGT team, and even though they won a fight late they were forced to call GG 39 minutes in, after their core heroes dropped with no buyback.
WB Finals Game 2 – Five Man Push Strategy
LGD switched up their lanes moving Sylar’s Lycan to mid and YAO’s Ember Spirit to safelane trilane, because of the HGT Queen of Pain pick. HGT decided not to change their strategy and go for the lane dominance into constant fighting again.
The first 15 minutes was straight up HGT overpowering LGD and ganking their weak lanes. The mobile rotation squad of kaka’s Rubick + prettyHaw’s Skywrath Mage made a huge impact in creating havoc for the pushing oriented LGD squad. Even though Air’s Queen of Pain managed to get a quick Orchid, LGD started to five man. The difference maker in this game were costly mistakes by the HGT lineup. QOP died with a mega kill streak to Lycan, which gave him a Necronomicon 3, that let them push even more.
HGT tried to comeback with a 5 man smoke gank bot, but miscommunication occured, which led to the demise of 4 heroes. LGD took 2 towers bottom with the addition of a free Roshan for Sylar’s Lycan.
From that point, the 5 man pushing lineup overpowered the mid Barracks, but the greed took over and LGD got teamwiped trying to take the Bottom Racks with a cost of QOP buyback from HGT side. On the last teamfight, both cores of HGT bought back and died again resulting in a 30th minute GG call. LGD moves on to the Grand Final where they will face off HGT again.
Grand Final Ahead – LGD Vs HGT Round 2
HGT managed to defeat VG again after their rematch in the lower bracket finals, just to get another shot against LGD as well. Only time will tell if they are capable of making more out of their second chance. The i-League Grand Finals (Best of 5) games will be played on January 10th.
Who will do better this time?
If HGT minimizes their mistakes during mid game that cost them dearly in the WB Finals, they have a great chance to take a game or two off LGD. The hero lane dominance is great when you don’t lose the advantage you got 10 minutes later with one bad teamfight.
It’s a risky strategy, but the HGT squad beat VG two times running this, so it will be an interesting Grand Final nonetheless. LGD has an edge, but they have to withstand HGT over possible five games, don’t forget to respect both of these teams and their hardwork, which led to the victories against VG and iG.

Dota needs no introduction. Valve wanted to make sure that the sequel to the original Dota is a polished product so the developer did not rush up its release. However, after a two-year beta run, Dota 2 has finally been released to masses.
The game of course is developed by Valve and is an PC exclusive. Although the client is working fine for the majority, there can be some minor issues that can spoil the fun for you not allowing you to play or even start the game properly.
If you are experiencing any sort of errors/crashes/bugs, you can refer to the following troubleshooting guide:
#1 Dota 2 Crashes or Fails To Launch If your game is being crashed continuously or it won’t even start, you should add “-autoconfig” or “-safe” commands in the launch options. Remember that only one command can be used at a time. In order to add these commands, follow these steps:
Open Steam
Go to the “Library”
Right-click the game which needs to be reconfigured
Select “Properties” from the menu
Click the “Set launch options…” button
Remove any launch options currently shown.
Type – autoconfig or – safe in the box and select OK.
Launch the game and test the issue again.
#2 Dota 2 “No Steam Logon Error” Fix You can try out the following workarounds to resolve the issue:
First, go to dota 2, options, game, network and set network quality to low.
Or you can create a shortcut on desktop and start the game using “-tcp” command in the target of shortcut.
Don’t forget to verify your game cache.
