WESG Team Serbia – LeBronDota interview: “Serbia has many talented players”

The interview took place on the first day of WESG Barcelona EU and CIS regional qualifiers finals, moments after his team qualified for the Grand Finals in China. Dota 2 serbia facebook login

Congrats on qualifying for the 1.5M Dollars WESG Global Grand Finals, how does it feel to have the month of March 2018 booked with Team Serbia?

Now, I’m relaxed and relieved. I must say that we were a bit worried because we finished the group stage tied with Notail’s Danish team so we had to wait for their game vs Netherlands to see who qualifies. We won vs Danish Dynamite, in fact, that was our opening game here and we took a 23 minutes victory against them, so we are the ones qualifying for China. Dota 2 serbia facebook login

Yeah, I can see why you were a bit stressed with the group stage matches. Theoretically, the teams here are mixes of top tier players with some young talents, but then you were in a group with Team Sweden – Loda, Akke, iNsania, Danish Dynamite – Notail, Babyknight, Biver, Netherlands with SingSing and SexyBamboe, so yeah, not one of the easiest groups. So, tell me, now that you qualified already and saw a little bit of other matches as well, how do you find WESG Barcelona, what’s your impression on the tournament?

I quite like the idea of representing your country in a big tournament format

To be honest I have mixed feelings. On one hand it’s nice to have a tournament like this, because it’s a new experience, it’s very different from what anyone is used to play during the season, it forces you to think outside the box, to train a bit different, to look at different things in terms of strategies and so on. I also quite like the idea of representing your country in a big tournament format.

On the other hand, finding or putting together a national roster can be extremely challenging for some countries. I mean, there are these few countries where the esports scene is already super big. So, obviously, Sweden, Russia, Ukraine, are already in a place where they can easily bring two teams to an event like this. But for us, for Serbia is actually a bit hard to find a team, a roster that can come to qualifiers and crush everything around. But I’m very happy with my Team Serbia and I hope that our performance will be much better in China. Dota 2 serbia facebook login I’m sure that pretty soon WESG or the Olympic format actually, will become a huge thing in esports as well, and I believe that this can be a good boost for any young player, and a motivation source for all the youngsters out there.

You said it wasn’t that easy to gather a team for this, so tell me how did Team Serbia become reality?

We don’t have an overwhelming amount of professional players in Serbia but we are lucky that the few of us who play competitively know each other really well, and we just took the best players we have in the country on each position.

Fair enough. Are there any good Serbian pub players, guys that might be in the above 7K MMR bracket but didn’t have a chance at joining a pro team?

there a lot of extremely talented players, the Serbian community is great, but the general mentality about esports, or a Dota professional career, is still quite behind

Oh yes, there a lot of extremely talented players, the Serbian community is great, but the general mentality about esports, or a Dota professional career, is still quite behind. Most of the good players we have can’t really turn to a professional career because they are either not allowed by their families, or they need to sustain themselves from a so called “real job”. For example, all my trying to balance what we do in Dota with studies. In fact, all my teammates, are still studying. So, I guess for most of the Serbian, if not all the Serbian players, the time when you can focus only on your career is when you are grown enough to separate from your parents or when you move out to the big city to study and you are finally able to play without having your parents behind watching after you all the time.

Team Serbia playing at WESG European and CIS regional qualifiers LAN finals

You are now playing for Double Dimension, and of course, the main focus of your team is on Majors and Minors qualifiers. There’s plenty of them until March 2018 when the WESG Global Grand Finals will take place, so what will do if you qualify with DD for a Minor or a Major that might overlap with WESG?

No doubt if I qualify with my team to a Minor or Major I’ll go to that. I just really hope that WESG will be able to set the Global Grand Finals dates, such way so everyone can attend.

Yeah, the new Pro Circuit is so packed, there are so many qualifiers going on, I’ve seen a lot of the players here having to stay up until late hours to play qualifiers with their teams after they finished the games here, in Barcelona. Dota 2 serbia facebook login Tell me what you think about the Pro Circuit.

Well, I find the new points system extremely good and something that we really needed in Dota but there are a few things that could be looked into and improved maybe next year. The number of qualifiers for example. What I don’t like about how the schedule goes, as of now, is the fact that even if you qualify for something, you don’t have time to properly prepare for that event. In the previous year, if you qualified for a Major, you had all the time to set up a bootcamp and go train for the Major exclusively. Now, there is no real time to bootcamp for Majors. There are months in the year when you have even two Major LANs and a few minors as well. So yeah, I think the schedule is a bit too packed.

Alright, your teammates are waiting to join them for lunch, so any final words, any shout-outs?

Shout-out to everyone in Serbia who cheer for us, and shout-out to Stefan ‘RealToxi’ Stamatovic who help us with the training process for this and took such good care of us during this trip! Also, shout-out to my family.

Dusko ‘BoraNija’ Boranijasevic
Nenad ‘grizine’ Lukic

Top 10 most expensive Dota items on the market – September 2018

The top 10 most expensive Dota 2 items available on the Steam market. I explored the market to find out the skins sold fairly at a high price during September 2018.

In the market there are thousands of items sold at an inaccurate cost, often in an attempt to scam the buyers. To give credibility to this list, I included only the items that have been already traded in the past and the recent average price range.

Unusual Golden Baby Roshan

Item currently not available. From the April 2018 list.

Average price: $1,800

Last sold on January 31 for $1,800

An immortal courier awarded to players that made it in the Sugar Rush Hall of Fame during Diretide 2012.

It utilizes the same model of the standard Baby Roshan courier – listed for $2-3 – but has golden textures and effects.

In the game, there are Baby Roshans available with different effects, and they are all very expensive: Platinum, Ice, Lava, Dark Moon, Desert Sand, and Jade.

Legacy Enduring War Dog

Average price: around $1,000 – very variable cost depending on the effect

Last sold on August 6 for $806

A Mythical courier, originally released on May 31, 2012. Legacy couriers are old but expensive couriers which were given an unique random color and a Prismatic: Legacy gem.

Platinum Baby Roshan

Average price: $1,700

Last sold on September 10 for $1,725

An immortal courier awarded to players that made it in the Sugar Rush Hall of Fame during Diretide 2013.

It utilizes the same model of the standard Baby Roshan courier – listed for $2-3 – but has platinum textures and effects.

The color of the textures isn’t the only distinction among the various Baby Roshans, but also the gems are different.

For example, the Golden Roshan has Ethereal: Touch of Midas and Prismatic: Midas Gold, the Platinum one has Ethereal: Ionic Vapor and Prismatic: Pristine Platinum. They create custom effects and change the color of the particles.

Genuine Axe of Phractos

Average price: $1,500

Last sold on August 10 for $1,380

A mythical weapon for Axe obtained in genuine quality by buying the Axe figurine from the WETA workshop. It is no longer available.

Later on, Valve included this item in the Trust of the Benefactor 2016 treasure as an ultra rare drop. Three copies of the treasure were given to all players with The International 2017 Battle Pass. Only 25 copies of this item could be unboxed worldwide.

Genuine Monarch Bow

Average price: $1,500-1700

Last sold on September 14 for $1,574

A mythical weapon for Drow Ranger acquired in genuine quality by purchasing the Butterfly Sword from the WETA workshop. It is no longer available.

Also the Monarch Bow was included in the Trust of the Benefactor 2016 as an ultra rare drop.

Rarities of the Benefactor 2017

Item currently not available. From the May 2018 list.

Average price: $1,150

Last sold on November 22 for $1,200

A legendary item gained as an ultra rare drop from Trust of the Benefactor 2017, which is an immortal chest obtained via leveling The International 2017 Battle Pass.

The first treasure was given at level 83, the second at 245, and afterwards an extra one every 50 Battle Pass levels.

Rarities of the Benefactor contained precious skins, and only a determinate amount of each one could be unboxed worldwide:

Very rare: 100 each

Extremely rare: 50 each

Ultra rare: 25 each

Prismatic: M >Item currently not available. From the August 2018 list.

Average price: $900-1,200

Last sold on April 26 for $1,262

A mythical gem that changes the color of unusual particle effects on custom couriers with an Ethereal Gem.

It also alters the following items:

Terrorblade’s Fractal Horns of Inner Abysm

Techies’ Swine of the Sunken Galley

Witch Doctor’s Padda’pon of Ribbi’tar.

Genuine Tsukumo the Moon Cloud

Average price: $800-1,000

Last sold on September 18 for $825

A mythical mount for Mirana that comes in genuine quality by buying the Mirana Princess of the Moon Collectible Statue by Artgerm and Mark Newman.

The sculpture originally was sold for $400 on the WeLoveFine shop, but is no longer available.

The original mount was a tiger, but before the release Valve transformed it in a moon rabbit. Later on, they introduced also the tiger as a second style following the community feedback.

Rarities of the Benefactor 2018

Item currently not available. From the August 2018 list.

Average price: $900-1,100

Last sold on August 16 for $1,210

A legendary item gained as an ultra rare drop from Trust of the Benefactor 2018, which is an immortal chest obtained via leveling The International 2018 Battle Pass.

The first treasure was given at level 83, the second at 245, and afterwards an extra one every 50 Battle Pass levels.

It contains the same skins of the Rarities of the Benefactor 2017, and with the same rarity and number of drops worldwide. The Golden Wings of the Manticore for Skywrath Mage is the only new addition.

Legacy Morok’s Mechanical Mediary

Average price: $800-900

Last sold on April 11 for $937

Note: there are multiple variants of this mythical courier and they are all cheap. Only the legacy version is valuable.

After the top 10

There are many more amazing and expensive items. I have featured them during the previous months, but they fell from the top 10 due to the fluctuations of the Steam Market. Let’s check them out!

In no particular order.

Legacy Stumpy – Nature’s Attendant

Average price: $650-700

Last sold on December 8 for $922

The courier was removed from the Store on June 7, 2013 and its rarity was changed to immortal. Legacy couriers are old but expensive couriers which were given an unique random color and a Prismatic: Legacy gem.

Dragonclaw Hook

Average price: $800-850

Last sold on September 18 for $826

An immortal weapon for Pudge, formerly of mythical rarity. It is one of the oldest rare items, and was released in the Sithil’s Summer Stash on July 12, 2012. Valve accidentally re-added it to the drop list in February 2013, but removed it soon after.

Also this item was added to the Trust of the Benefactor 2016 as a rare drop. Only 200 copies were available worldwide.

Its price increased recently, perhaps due to the announcement of the upcoming Pudge’s Arcana. Dota 2 compendium 2015 immortal treasure 3 items

Note: there are multiple variants of this immortal item (standard, inscribed, corrupted, and autographed) and they all cost pretty much the same.

CS:GO and DotA 2: What makes Valve’s eSports so popular?

Up until very recently, I was one of those outsiders; my experience was entirely with CS:GO and Dota 2’s respective predecessors about a decade ago. After spending some time with each, I believe that their competitive edge, their je ne sais quoi comes down to three major points. And they’re a little less surprising than you might think.

1. Consistent Support

For better or for worse, gamers rarely hesitate to make their opinions known about a part of a game that doesn’t feel right or isn’t balanced properly. CS:GO’s balance updates are determined through a mix of analyzing player data and incorporating suggestions from the community. Across both games, Valve supports and incorporates community workshop submissions, fully using the tools available to them through the Steam platform. Aspiring Dota 2 item-makers are given everything they need to be successful, and financially compensated if their items are included in the game.

This responsiveness and acknowledgment encourages further community engagement and diversifies input into both games. But where does this community base come from in the first place?

2. A Refinement of a Popular History

All three games feature beloved predecessors: CS:GO has imaginatively-named titles before it, Dota 2 famously began as a Warcraft 3 community mod that popularized an entire genre, while Team Fortress has the less well-known but still highly regarded Team Fortress Classic. All three games, therefore, have always had a solid core of pre-existing and vocal fans to lean on. The importance of the work (if it can be called that in this context) that fans do to promote games through discussion and other forms of engagement cannot be overestimated.

What sets CS:GO and Dota 2 apart is a matter of scale. Team Fortress Classic was a niche game — a Quake mod. DotA, by contrast, was able to leverage the popularity of Blizzard’s games and its fresh take on the RTS genre to provide a free, easily obtainable, and unique gaming experience. This already explosive popularity was enough to launch not one but two hugely popular MOBAs — Dota 2 and, of course, League of Legends.

3. Healthy Competition

ESports are here to stay, despite what Colin Cowherd has to say on the matter. Counterstrike: Global Offensive, by offering a built-in competitive mode and cosmetic ranks, caters to this. Although CS:GO’s tournament prizes cap out at only $250,000 (and it boggles the mind to qualify that with an only), this year’s International Dota 2 tournament had a prize pool of over $18 million USD, with over a third of that going to the winning team alone.

The draw of this prize is alluring in and of itself, and the popularity of streaming means that accessing these tournaments as a spectator can be done from just about anywhere. In contrast to most established sports, watching eSports online is usually completely free.

Team Fortress 2, by contrast, has a much smaller competitive scene and a complete lack of native competitive matchmaking. The game does allow you to track and display kills by weapon, made under certain conditions, but in isolation these numbers mean little when it comes to determining skill level. With TF2 having more than four years of seniority over both of Valve’s other major titles, it’s surprising that this support was not implemented years ago. Combined with the above, it’s little wonder that both games have out-performed the class-based shooter; and, backed by Valve’s strong brand and support, shot to prominence among the gaming community.

Conclusion

All of this could really be summed up as one core idea: Valve’s post-release and ongoing support of CS:GO and Dota 2 has allowed both to flourish into the giants of gaming that they are now. The optional (and thriving) skins economy and mission packs have given them the financial resources to do so. In recent years, TF2 has followed where CS:GO leads, giving us some hope that a similar matchmaking system might make its way to everybody’s favorite hat simulator.

Are you a current player, mystified onlooker, lapsed adherent, or a crotchety old gamer who needs these upstarts to get off your (pixelated, lower-res) lawn? Sound off in the comments below if there’s any X factor to these two games that you think we’ve overlooked.

Mag’s original DotA nickname was Magus; he later changed it to avoid confusion with hero Magnus. Mag played for various Ukrainian teams with his friend Deff-, they both got picked up by Natus Vincere along with Goblak, Axypa and XBOCT to form the first DotA team under this tag. Later both of them got kicked, and replaced by Dendi and Artstyle.

Dota 2 [ edit ]

Mag played with Darer in The International 2012 but were eliminated in the second round of the losers bracket. On September 12th, 2012 the entire Darer squad was replaced with a Bulgarian line-up, citing communication problems. [1]

Mag played with Team iCCup on March 14th, 2013 where he made a name for himself along with his teammates Resolut1on, ALWAYSWANNAFLY, wejustzik and Jackal. Despite showing great results and a potential to grow, the team was released on August 16th, 2013 and left without sponsors. [2] The team continued to play under the name Terrible Terrible Damage, although Resolut1on was picked up by Virtus. pro very quickly. Under Mag’s guidance, Terrible Terrible Damage took a convincing win in the offline tournament Techlabs Cup 2013.

Not long later, on September 2nd, 2013 Mag joined Team Empire as an offlaner in the post-TI3 reshuffle. [3] He was joined several days later by his former teammate ALWAYSWANNAFLY. With Team Empire Mag showed impressive results and took over as team captain after LighTofHeaveN left to join Virtus. pro.

Empire’s run with Mag as a captain culminated in taking second place at Star Ladder Star Series Season 9, losing in the Grand Final to Team DK. After a bad performance at The International 2014, Mag was kicked, since some of his teammates were dissatisfied with his decision making.

Mag played as a stand-in for Cloud9 at Star Ladder Star Series Season 10, since Bone7 couldn’t attend the event. Cloud9 managed to get to third place. Due to the fact that Mag played Centaur Warrunner almost exclusively, people started calling him Andrey “Mag” Centavrenko or Andrey “WARRUN” Chipenko.

Mag proceeded to play as stand-in for the Virtus. Pro Polar squad alongside Fng. Later both players were officially picked up by the organization. Mag helped his team take second place at HyperX Dota 2 League Season 5 and Star Ladder Star Series Season 11.

Following some poor performance from both VP squads in the first quarter of 2015, management decided to merge two teams. Mag was kicked, and later replaced by Sedoy. After spending some time teamless, Mag along with Solo got picked up by Vega Squadron. Vega had an impressive run in The International 2015 qualifiers, but ultimately came short, at first losing to Natus Vincere in the final of EU qualifiers, and then to CDEC Gaming and MVP Phoenix in wildcard qualifiers. Despite failing to attend the main event of the biggest tournament of the year, team decided to stick together, and not make any roster changes.

While watching the main event, Mag noticed how impressive was his former teammate DkPhobos with Broodmother. Mag’s Broodmother was a star of the tournament, being picked by Vega or banned against them in almost every game. Winning the first big LAN tournament since TI5 secured Vega an invitation to the Frankfurt Major 2015.

Vega ultimately fell short of desired result in Frankfurt, only getting to 9th-12th place after losing both games in the main event. Their biggest achievement was taking second place at WePlay Dota2 League Season 3, where they performed with revamped roster, in which fn replaced 9pasha at carry position. Mag and his teammates also struggled in the most important qualifiers of the year, not getting to desired Top 5 in European qualifiers for TI6. After major roster changes, only Mag and CemaTheSlayer stayed.

Vega results remained poor despite constant roster changes, as they continued to come short at big LAN qualifiers, and in March of 2017, a month before 2 year anniversary of being on the team, Mag was kicked and replaced by Afterlife. Mag spent most of the next season cycling through teams such as Effect, Planet Dog and Double Dimension. He ended the season with MEGA-LADA E-sports, [7] failing to go through the TI 8 CIS open qualifiers.

Transition into Coaching [ edit ]

At the start of the 2018-19 DPC Circuit Mag was offered a coaching position on Natus Vincere. [8] Mag managed to lead the team to international LAN’s such as DreamLeague Season 11 and ESL One Mumbai 2019 where they would achieve mixed results. At The International 2019 Na’Vi made it to main stage, where they lost to Mineski in a BO1 match, finishing 13th-16th place.

Despite failing to attend the main event of the biggest tournament of the year, team decided to stick together, and not make any roster changes.

While watching the main event, Mag noticed how impressive was his former teammate DkPhobos with Broodmother. DkPhobos told Mag that he studied this hero under gu >[4] New skills came in handy when Vega attended ESL One New York 2015, a tournament they got to through European qualifiers. Despite facing TI5 champions, EG, in the first round, team made it through to the final, where they snatched the cup from Team Secret.

Team didn’t find much success for the rest of the season, failing to make it to both Shanghai Major and Manila Major.

What followed was a brief period of playing as stand-in for Comanche, new CIS organization, which ended abruptly, as Gambit Esports tried to poach the whole squad, but then dec >[5]

However, life took a surprising turn for Mag, as in May of 2017 he moved to South-East Asia and joined Mineski. Him and. Ark, a player he knew from Comanche, became one of the few CIS players to move to other region, and the first ones to compete in SEA. Unfortunately the new roster d >[6]

Dota 2 valve support

Dota 2 valve support

Dota 2 valve support

There is a very very simple reason that people dont play support, and valve just seems to be adding to this problem with the new “fast queue” system. Within the brackets you have people that do nothing but watch youtube video’s, play solo dota (not solo queue, big difference explained later) and individuals that are going to que for whatever they want, and play whatever hero, as if it were an unranked game, to the downside of the team. You STILL get games where its a huge matchup change, Legend 4’s vs archon 1’s in mid, and you get people that do NOTHING but push forward with core roles and learn absolutely nothing. You can easily see the people that were carried, and its borderline impossible anymore to increase in any semblance.

I personally main support. Now, due to the influx of cancerous “web tutorials” (Dota alchemy) that really push for people to play CORE roles. You see a ton of people that play core, watch nothing but the “6 rampage miracle mid” videos, then go into the game thinking they will repeat the exact process. Have 0 mapsense, 0 gamesense, ignore the entire team, do NOTHING but feed, then flame people when they were out of position, and unable to farm. You have absolutely 0 metrics to actually rate the supports, who regardless of situations, unless they play that solo dota I mentioned before, its an EASY loss. So what do these “tutorials” say to get out of the trench that you have created. Thats right. PLAY CORE! Canceling your metric for getting those bodies to play support.

Dota 2 is a team game. It is based around 5 indivuduals, working together, playing specified roles/positions in order to best achiee the victory of destroying the enemy ancient. BUUUUUT. Thanks to the idea behind 90% of the information out there, and a GRAND portion of the player base. They refuse to play together. YOu have individuals with no ingame knowledge, no mapsense, and NO desire to actually work with ANYBODY on the team. Because its all about THEM. its about the KD ratio, its about THEIR networth. So if they run forward, get 3 kills, but feed the enemy team a 1k gold bounty, they gotta flame everybody else, because they didnt say anything. They just, did it. But, they got their farm! Following this mad dive, they proceed to jungle for the next 30 minutes, gaining zero ground, even if the team gets a fight, drops 4 enemies, loses 2, but cant push the tower because they are way to weak. But wheres this core player? Thats right! in YOUR jungle, farming the small creep camp, because he needs another 2k for his radiance. While he’s playing juggernaut. Granted, he already farmed a battlefury, and finally a maelstrom after letting the enemy team drop 4 of your towers. But, its somebody elses fault. The supports BUST their asses, if they play the game, and instead of gaining ANYTHING, they constantly LOSE MMR because of things like this. Because the core will have 200 hp, see a stun hit the enemy, and think Oh, I can still rush into the two with full HP, because I have. this one ability. They play alone, they refuse to think that anybody in the game might have idea’s. They refuse to see where anybody might try to make a play. Try to get better. Try to WORK with the other players on their team. THAT is solo dota. Dota 2 valve support I had a Divine 2 friend of mine tell me what “dota alchemy says is to play a support that can solo carry late game.” So, play a support, that can play. solo. in a team game. GREAT ADVICE.

If you wonder valve, why NOBODY ♥♥♥♥ing wants to play support, its because of this right here. The core players, think they are 6k mmr down in the 2k bracket, and refuse to listen to anybody. They refuse to play WITH anybody. And ranked is just a joke because “they dont care about ‘this’ account” and just made it to smurf. You implement a system to allow people to get into games “faster” with tickets by queing for all 5 positions. Why? You think thats gunna change it? You think “lets reward these guys for putting up with all the toxic cancer that is the avg core player in the game right now, by letting them get into a game faster!” Yes, because all I want to do, is lose my MMR for the chance to que FASTER into the next game with these same people that have 0 idea of what teamwork is. Get rid of the fast que system, and create a new bloody metric for supports. Supports play a different game than the cores, and so when you wind up having 2 people, sac everything in the game, for sake of vision, to secure kills for the core, to make space. But those 3 people wound up finding the queue button by sheer dumb luck blindly flailing around. Great way to make people “want to play” the role.

I’ll post the link soon when I get back home, but just so you guys know, Fnatic owned a Alliance with a Meepo support!

What do you think of its actual viability? Do you think they won only because the draft was unexpected?

I watched the video earlier today, meepo will never be meta cause no 1 plays him except notail in competitive(regularly)

Plus he is extremely situational pick who actually reduces his whole team’s exp gain, every separate meepo saps exp.
Example – a certain creep gives 100 exo ( for sake of calculation) with 4 meepos and another guy present the other guy gets only 20 exp while meepo gets 80.
Picture this on all lanes its a nightmare.

Meepo is easily countered by high single target dps(lion lina plus another person just zap 1)

That game is a specific example because earthbind disables blink unlike naga siren’s spell.

Well the draft did look horrible, undying, alchemist are substandard picks.

My opinion – Get a pugna instead of alchemist, you get single target damage, counters ogre magi and other casters and a bit of early push as well(or counter push depending on the scenario)

Naga siren’s Ensnare also disables blink, aswell as invisibility.

It also was captain’s draft and not CM, and pugna was out of the pool.
Alchemist is still a great pick in competetive and was probably the best hero left in the pool.

Dota 2 Performance, Benchmarked

Dota 2 is one of the most popular games around. And, it’s free-to-play, so anyone can try it out. How much hardware do you need to enjoy this title at smooth frame rates? Not much, it turns out. We test a number of CPUs and GPUs at different settings.

Dota 2 Runs Well On Low-End Hardware

Free-to-play multiplayer games are only profitable if as many people as possible have access to them. So, it’s hardly surprising that Dota 2 is not a particularly demanding title. It’s really meant to run well on the lowest common denominator. Our little exercise today demonstrates just how little rendering horsepower it need.

At low (but still attractive) detail levels, gaming at 1920×1080 is smooth enough on both AMD’s mobile A10-4600M with integrated Radeon HD 7660G graphics and Intel’s Core i5-3210M with HD Graphics 4000. As far as discrete cards go, the GeForce G 210 is the only model we tested that couldn’t handle this title’s entry-level options. Meanwhile, the Radeon HD 6450 delivers frame rates in excess of 45 FPS throughout our benchmark run.

Crank up the detail settings as high as they’ll go and you’ll want at least a Radeon HD 6670 DDR3 or GeForce GT 630 GDDR5 for at least 30 FPS at 1920×1080. A GeForce GTX 650 or Radeon HD 7750 are better choices for that combination of details and resolution, though. And if you want more than 45 FPS at 2560×1600, get a Radeon HD 7770 or GeForce GTX 650 Ti.

The game is also pretty forgiving when it comes to processor performance. A dual-core AMD chip running faster than 2.5 GHz should suffice, and anyone with a modern Intel CPU clocked at 2 GHz or higher should be fine as well. Ideally, I’d say an LGA 1155-based Pentium or Phenom II X4/FX-4000-series processor running at 3 GHz should keep you up above 50 FPS.

As far as hardware goes, this game doesn’t give you much to worry about. At this point, the only question is how Dota 2‘s main competition, League of Legends, compares. To answer, I’ll be putting that game through a similar set of tests, so stay tuned to Tom’s Hardware for the results.

As A former DoTA player.. (original WC ver.)

I’m so glad they keep the game mechanic and the system requirement low.

the one problems i had is no near server in my country, and the internet connection is quite bad.
I’m wonder if this game is playable on LAN or private/local server?

Some items offer in-game advantages, but Valve committed to a true free-to-play strategy (not pay-to-win), so none of the cash items are powerful enough to make or break a match.

i think. this is the second multiplayer game since the guild wars 2 where core i3 has taken a lead.

kidding aside, could you test core i5 3570k or 3470 (at stock) instead of core i5 3550, the 3570k is selling for $220 at newegg, i5 3550 is $225 and fx8350 is $200(excl. shipping). i5 3470 is selling for $200 and with a mobo like asus z77-v lx, i think it can hit 4 ghz with multicore turbo enabled.

no one is going to rage, its a low requirement game as for cpu, all they needed to test was the general core difference. if your quad core intel cpu is faster than the tested cpu, then just add a few fps to the tested results +/- irregularities with systems and testing situations. the cpus chosen were just a bunch of cpus of different core count and architectures to gather data from modernish cpus for the game. No one is really going to argue against something like a 4.5 3570k being better than like a i5-3470 at max turbo clock. Its generally accepted that clocks in the same architecture will make it run better.

Two LAN tournaments of the new competitive season are already done and dusted. DreamLeague Season 12 brought the very first opportunity for the fans to see some of the new rosters in action playing live in an arena. Dota 2 sheever interviewee The tournament was held from the 18th to the 20th of October in the Netherlands, Jorien “Sheever” van der Heijden’ home country.

It was for the first time when DreamLeague came to the Netherlands and we couldn’t miss the chance to talk to Sheever and find out how she felt to have a job minutes away from home. Among other things, we, of course, talked a bit about the post TI9 shuffle and the two new heroes expected to come to Dota 2 this autumn with the Outlanders update.

Hi Sheever, how does it feel to host a tournament in your home country, how does it feel to have the DreamLeague Sheever show in Rotterdam, Netherlands for the first time?

I am actually so happy that DreamLeague has come to Rotterdam. This is the first time when I had a 45 minute travel time from my home to an event. That’s pretty crazy and I’m loving it. This is very special to me, my whole family came out to watch me here. So, yeah, I’m really enjoying it, and I hope that the Dutch fans will get more chances to actually show their passion for Dota 2.

Is your family coming to watch you live at work for the first time?

Yes. My younger sister has come with me to an International before, and she’s also been to some other Dota events. But for the rest of the family, this is the first time when they watch me do my job.

Talk to us abit about this crazy shuffle that we had after TI9. Did you expect the teams to make such big moves, and did you perhaps see some of the changes coming?

Well, as talent you always know some of the things that are put in motion at TI actually, you have a little bit more insight information, so not everything was a surprise to me. I am mostly curious though about the teams that we don’t know anything about right now. Like, what’s happening with Secret, what’s happening with the old Liquid roster, what’s happening with LGD, and perhaps what’s happening with OG, although I’m pretty sure they will be sticking together.

I understand why the rest of the teams made some changes, and we will see how it plays out, if there are winners coming out of that shuffle. This shuffle was expected to be the biggest one yet and so far, it has not disappointed.

Would you say that the shuffle has been so big because of how OG won two TIs in a row? Do you think that what OG has accomplished on so many levels, not only competitively, has changed something in the players’ mentality?

For sure! They won two years in a row and the teams that were expected to do well in both these TIs, they didn’t do that well, and I think most of them stuck together for such a long time for a reason, but TI9 was the final straw for them. It’s not a big surprise to see some of the players going to check if the grass is greener somewhere else. As for OG, they have something special, and I think that there are more teams now that will look for that special something.

The whole community is waiting for the new patch which will add two new heroes to the game. What are your expectations for Snapfire and Void Spirit?

I want Snapfire to be a support. I can’t wait for it, I am a support player and hearing that she has cookies and a dragon, I’m all for it, that’s my hero, right there!

No love for the Void Spirit?

I mean, yeah, it’s the fourth spirit finally coming, but I know he will be a core, so I’ll probably play it once, maybe twice and never touch it again after that.

A cheeky question to end our interview: who do you think will win the first Major of the season?

I think Evil Geniuses have a good shot, or at least top three for them. Vici Gaming are there as well, and they are on home soil, so they have a good shot too, but someone to look out for at the Chengdu Major is the current Alliance, I think they will be really good.

Thank you very much for taking the time to do this interview and I hope to see you again soon.

Dota 2 sheever interviewee

During the last series of day two at the EPICENTER Major main event we’ve been able to catch with the Jorien “Sheever” van der Heijden for a quick round of questions and although the broadcasts hosts have very little free time during a tournament, we still managed to touch a few subjects. Life on the road for her and ODPixel, tournament experience this season and what’s the one game coming out soon that she really wants to stay away from.

We are at the end of the season and I would like to ask you which tournament from this entire season stays with you because of your personal experience?

For my personal experience, I have to go back to TI8 because obviously, that was a personal story that was told for me and that’s something that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. That was very personal for me and if I can pick another tournament, it would be the DreamLeague Major in Sweden, because that was kind of like the Sheever Show and it was very special to have basically a Major Show with me. It was crazy, it was good.

I can’t wait for the DreamLeague in Rotterdam next season.

And looking at the storylines we had through this year’s DPC season, which is the one that pleasantly surprised you the most?

After the results today I think Alliance is the one that I am very happy they stuck together, because there was a little bit of the question mark after last TI. Like should they stay together? And then they had some issues with Mike having a hand injured and qojqva needed surgery as well. But they came together when they were all up and healthy again and they crushed it. And they made it to TI9 via DPC points, so I’d say that they are the team that impressed me most this season.

We’ve been happy to have you hosting four out of five Majors this season, plus you’ve been to a couple of non-DPC tournaments as well, how do you and Owen manage this always on the tour esports life as a couple?

Well, it’s easier for us to deal with it because we are together often and we consider ourselves very lucky that we have each other in that way. Some of our colleagues, they have their significant others at home and they travel the same amount as me and Owen. So, me and Owen are able to live the life we do because we are able to see each other and travel with each other as often as we do. It’s a blast for us, we are playing games, we are talking about games, we’re hanging out with our friends and we’re making a living out of it and that’s amazing.

TI9 qualifiers are coming soon, Beyond the Summit already announced the qualifiers hub, but I didn’t see a lot of info on the European hub yet, they just introduced the NA hub, so could you tell us more about the EU team?

Yes, there is a European hub. It’s gonna be me and Owen in our house. We will have JJ doing the production, and then we will also gonna have LizZard, Fogged, and GoDz joining us for the Europe and CIS qualifiers that we are going to cover as part of the Space hub. We even opened a PO box for people to send us messages and stuff, we’ll see how that goes.

Want to send a message, artwork, DOTA related surprise to me, @SheeverGaming, @lizZardDota2, @BTSGoDz, @Foggeddota, @JJLiebig at our TI HUB Space Station in the Netherlands?
We have a P. O Box!
We will open any goodies LIVE during the coverage from July 7th – 14th, so get sending! pic. twitter. com/yujFZdSpTA

August will be a busy month for Dota 2 scene, but also for a lot of other gamers. WoW Classic will go live and I know you were a hardcore player, you actually did hardcore raiding in WoW Vanilla, so are you looking forward to get back to that feeling a bit, will you get your hands on the WoW Classic?

Oh, yeah. I know it’s coming out but I can’t. I really shouldn’t play it. How should I put it? Let’s say I’m a drug addict. Me playing WoW would be me doing drugs. I’m trying not to play it, I’m trying to stay away from it.

I guess it will be hard because I know a few talents who are so looking forward to that and I think they are your friends too.

Yes. But I’m happy that Owen is not into the World of Warcraft train because that would have made it even more difficult. But, I think because Owen doesn’t play it, I will be able to stay clean as well. I’m actually looking forward to all the people that are disillusioned with WoW Classic because when playing Vanilla you didn’t get a mount FOREVER, you moved super slow and you got to grind so much to get to level 60. I’m gonna be happy when people get to level 50 and realize that they’re done with all the quests and then all the posts will come out from people complaining and stuff. I’m looking forward to that portion with WoW Classic.

Do you play any bit of Dota Underlords?

Yes, I do. It’s a lot of fun and it’s so nice that we can play it on the plane, just against bots, in the offline mode, but it’s still a nice thing to be able to do on the plane.

If this will go into an esports direction, if they bring some competitions for it, are you interested in trying to cast for it?

I’d be totally down for that, but I have to say, though, that for it to be a spectator friendly game, some things need to change because right now it feels very enjoyable to watch other people stream the game and make the decisions, but I’m not sure how it will be when you have eight people in the game and all of them are making their own decisions. But you can’t really follow any of them as well as you would want. So, if there is a change there, I think it’s gonna be a fun esport to watch. Although I think it’s always gonna be a little bit more fun to actually play it.

The game on stage looks like it will be over soon, so we need to wrap up this interview here. Thanks a lot for talking to us and if you have any shout-outs to make please do.

I am thankful for everybody that has been supporting me all this time. It’s amazing that I get to do what I do and partially, that is because of people like what I do as well. So, thank you and keep the love going.

No matter which support I decide to play, when team fights start happening I’m always one of the first to die. I tried playing Crystal Maiden – allowed my Anti-Mage to farm up, but late game their Zreus nuked 70% of my HP with his ulti and Riki would just jump on me and kill me with a Blink Strike and 2 auto attacks.

I don’t mind the fact that I have no cool items or that I don’t do as much damage as carries do – but why do I get insta-killed all the time? It’s like I can’t even survive a team fight unless the other team is completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Thanks for the help!!

To be honest, you shouldn’t expect to survive most encounters as a support. More often than not you’re going to be very squishy and die pretty quickly.

The important part is that you do everything in your power to help in the fight (stuns, silences, AOE, etc) and make sure your team loses less heroes than your opponents.

If you really want to survive, I’d suggest buying Drums (Unless someone else is already making it, otherwise get a bracer), and possibly tranquil boots.

positioning is your answer 🙂 but yes, i have the same problem, not with the Maiden, but with the shadow shaman. with the Maiden i usually manage to stay alive 😉

Positioning you say? CM’s ult requires me to stand in the middle of their team in order to actually do some damage with it.

If I went so deep I’d get killed even faster.

you don’t need to stand in the middle of their team, because the CM is not suited for that. don’t try to hit everyone, you just die very-very fast. try to hit 2-3 of them when there are your buddies between you and the enemy. and the shadow blade aka lotar can also help sometimes. blink in, ulti, lotar and just watch them run away.

you see, CM ulti’s a good thing, but it sould be used wisely.

In a pub, it’s your job to die. The initiator isn’t going to initiate. That’s the squishy support’s job.

If that’s so, is playing support even fun? Dying every two seconds and not being able to buy anything but wards and maybe tier 1 boots for the first 30 minutes of the game doesn’t sound like much fun to me.

For a lot of people it isn’t. Everyone would much rathe pick a carry and just get kills. But for people who want to win consistently, you do kinda need 1 or 2 supports.

Unlike most carries, supports usually have 1 or more super useful CC skills (Ex. Crystal Maiden, Bane, Lion), making it much easier for the carry(s) to just roflstomp over the enemy.
