MacBook Pro – Extreme Heat from Dota 2

I recently purchased the highest model MacBook Pro and I’ve been trying to play some of my favorite game on it. Even if I turn all the graphic settings to off and put most settings on lowest, except for the rendering, the MacBook gets so hot that it nearly burns my hand.

I keep the resolution down to around 1680 X 1050.

I used OSX and Windows 7 Ultimate, the same problem happens on both operating systems.

The first 3 pictures are of my MacBook. With and without dota running and the third is the specs.

4-6 are of my desktop and specs.

The last picture represents another person having the same problem I am having. The solution given is to not play dota. Dota 2 macbook air 2010 keyboard Unacceptable.

Review the screens:

(LAPTOP – MACBOOK PRO)

(Apple support with someone that has the same problem)

Macbook Pro 13′ has an Intel HD Graphics 4000. which is not a very good GPU. It’s not even it’s own discrete graphics card. and performance will suck on it especially since the screen is such a high resolution. Unfortunately this is not upgradeable on a laptop. If you’ve bought the highest end MBP you certainly do have a decent discrete graphics card, but laptops are made to save power and prolong battery life rather than high performance gaming.

I suggest at the very least you turn down all graphics to low if you want to keep it at that resolution. The MBP doesn’t really have great cooling so you’d have to keep it on a good surface.

I’ve managed to make my 2010 13′ MBP run Dota 2 fine by just turning all specs to the lowest possible.

You should also note that the same game runs better on Windows than on OSX with exactly the same specs, so if you can, stick with running it on Windows.

The solution is to sell the MBP or not use it for gaming. They are designed to look good, last long and perform well for office use.

first, on screenshots Windows 8, instead of OS X is shown

secondly it has the discrete video card GT 750M, and here generally hd4000? it is possible compulsorily to force to work only GT 750 in Nvidia driver settings

to restrict productivity and thereby and heating in settings of power supply set “energy regime of economy” values it will reduce notebook productivity

as specify in the Nvidia settings power supply mode “adaptive”

the best option to sell it and to buy the normal PC

Dota 2 best bottom lane

Dota 2 best bottom lane

Lanes

Lanes are a major feature of the map. There are the three distinct lanes, each with their own advantages. They are identified through several different tactical approaches.

Contents

Terminology [ edit ]

The lanes are commonly called top lane, mid lane, and bottom lane. These terms directly refer to them using their geographic location on the map.

The middle lane (often shortened to mid lane or mid) is the lane going directly from one base, across the river, to the opponent’s base. It is the quickest and shortest path to each base.

The top lane (often shortened to top) is the lane going from base to base via the top left corner of the map. It runs along the left and top sides of the map. Both the Radiant and Dire refer to this lane as the top lane. It is the Radiant Offlane and the Dire Safe Lane. It is adjacent to the Dire’s jungle and the creep wave often ends up fighting on the Dire’s side.

The bottom lane (often shortened to bot lane or bot) is the lane going from base to base via the bottom right corner of the map. It runs along the bottom and right sides of the map. Both the Radiant and Dire refer to this lane as the bot lane. It is the Dire Offlane and the Radiant Safe Lane. It is adjacent to the Radiant’s jungle and the creep wave often ends up fighting on the Radiant’s side.

Mid Lane [ edit ]

The mid lane is traditionally a solo lane. It involves a high degree of skill, usually involving a team’s best player. The mid laner must contest last hits and denies to control the flow of gold and exp in their favor. This has the benefit of controlling the power of the enemy mid laner, while also bolstering your own strength. The player who “wins” the mid lane essentially is able to gank the side lanes successfully as well as push down the enemy’s mid lane tower, gaining map control for his entire team. Much play in the mid lane also revolves around rune control and avoiding smoke ganks.

Safe Lane [ edit ]

The safe lane is the lane adjacent to your jungle. Since it’s longer, your creeps will take more time to reinforce, keeping the creep wave closer to your tower and on your side of the river. As a result, heroes will be safer from ganks as they can stay under their tower. If your team has a jungler, he is also near in case of emergencies and a position near the tower. For the Radiant side, the bottom lane is the safe lane, running along the bottom of the map. For the Dire side, the top lane is the safe lane, running along the top of the map.

Offlane [ edit ]

The Offlane is adjacent to your secret shop and ancient camps. Due to the short reinforcement distance, your creeps will often end up on the opponent’s side of the river, leaving you in a vulnerable position next to their jungle. Being susceptible to heroes coming through the river makes this a more challenging lane, however strategically the Offlane is usually run solo for the Offlaner to quickly gain exp to leave the lane at level 6 and gank. The name “Offlane” refers to the play style of running the lane, in which the hero is rarely seen last hitting in lane. They are instead staying “Offlane” at the safest distance possible to gain experience.

Lane Strategies [ edit ]

The terms solo lane, dual lane, and trilane refer to the amount of heroes occupying a lane in the early stages of the game. Combinations of the various laning terms occur to signify a specific occupation in a certain lane. For example, solo mid refers to a single hero in the middle lane.

Solo Lane [ edit ]

A solo lane is when a lane has only a single hero running it. Heroes that are alone in a lane receive maximum experience and gold as it isn’t split among occupants. The main risk to this rewarding strategy is that being alone makes a hero more vulnerable to ganks. In common strategy, the mid lane is always run solo and the Offlane is often run solo.

Dual Lane [ edit ]

A dual lane is when two heroes team up to run a lane together. This is the most common setup for the safe lane. Usually one hero who is more farm-dependent tries to maximize their last hits, while the second hero supports the other by protecting him, harassing the opponent and getting denies.

Trilane [ edit ]

A trilane is when three heroes run a lane together. There are two types of trilane strategies.

The aggressive trilane is three heroes in the Offlane. They try to pressure the enemy team’s safe lane and disrupt the jungle. To be successful, an aggressive trilane is largely dependent on getting hero or tower kills. Aggressive trilanes

The defensive trilane is three heroes in the safe lane. Two supporting heroes make sure the third hero, their carry, gets all the farm. They push the enemy heroes back to deny them experience and gold, while simultaneously protecting their carry from the enemy. The supporting heroes can gain some experience and gold of their own by farming the jungle in the meantime.

The word trilane can sometimes also refer to the trilane setup, referring to a 1-1-3 division of heroes among the lanes. In that case, the team has two solo lanes and one trilane.

Laning [ edit ]

Laning is the act of staying in a lane. A hero that lanes gains gold and experience from the dying creeps, and is also protecting the nearest tower. Games generally start out with a laning phase where all or the majority of players start out in a lane. Later on more roles such as ganking, pushing, and roaming come into play, but often enough players go back to laning for a steady income of exp and gold.

The Top 10 Dota 2 Players of 2016

With three fantastic Majors, one of the best Internationals ever and countless tournaments in the books, 2016 has been a fantastic year of Dota 2. But in a year filled with inconsistent results, which players emerged as the best across the entire year? Presenting your Top 10 Dota 2 Players of 2016.

10. Verros “Maybe Next Time” Apostolos – Ad Finem exploded in popularity at The Boston Major due to their improbable run to the Grand Finals. Much of it was thanks to the significant contributions of Maybe Next Time, as he kept his team alive and in contention through his support skills. With his team at the forefront of Dota heading into 2017, Maybe Next Time has to prove that Boston wasn’t just a one time deal.

9. Zhang “xiao8” Ning – Though he is far removed from winning TI4 with Newbee, xiao8 has proven that he is still just as capable of leading teams to success in 2016. As both an offlaner and support, xiao8 provides a sturdy foundation with which LGD Gaming and LGD. ForeverYoung could build around.

8. Zhou “bLink” Yang – In a year where Chinese teams struggled, Wings Gaming stuck together through trying times and won the Aegis of Champions at TI6 for their efforts. Wings’ mid laner bLink deserves much of the praise for why his team succeeded, and his mid lane aggression destabilized his opponents and created plenty of openings for Wings. Dependable and with a large hero pool behind him, bLink is one of the best players on Wings Gaming.

7. Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng – Though he only began his professional career last December, MidOne was one of the main reasons why Fnatic succeeded throughout the first half of 2016. A breath of fresh air on a team that had routinely struggled to reach the top, MidOne became known for his efficient farming and skillful use of heroes such as Templar Assassin and Invoker. Thanks to his efforts, Fnatic claimed an impressive fourth place at TI6 before he joined Team Secret. Thankfully, his time on Secret has shown that there is still plenty of room to grow for the young player.

6. Saahil “UNiVeRsE” Arora – UNiVeRsE is the most consistent offlaner in the world. No matter what hero he plays or what his team’s composition is, you can always count on UNiVeRsE to start the plays that send his opponents reeling. That said, his first half of the year was marred by his time on Team Secret, who promptly faltered and collapsed at The Manila Major. It is on EG where UNiVeRsE has seen his greatest success, and where he will continue to see it going forward.

5. Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen – Cr1t – was already one of the best supports in the world, with two Major titles behind him, before he surprised many by joining EG in August as their new captain. While he still has a long way to go, Cr1t – has successfully taken the reins from ppd on EG and is now at the head of the strongest North American team in Dota. Dota 2 pro movies 2016 The switch to NA has also not dulled his skill as support, and he remains one of the best in the world

4. Aliwi “w33” Omar – Arguably the best Invoker in the world, w33 dominates the mid lane, though his future was in doubt after he was kicked from Team Secret a few weeks after he won The Shanghai Major. Fortunately for w33, Digital Chaos has allowed him to continue to grow and develop into one of the strongest mid laners in the world. Though DC faltered in the Grand Finals of TI6 and placed in the Top 4 at The Boston Major, w33 remains a force to be reckoned with heading into 2017.

3. Zhang “faith_bian” Ruida – Faith_bian’s strong performances across a wide variety of offlane heroes has helped propel Wings Gaming to the top of Dota 2. Aggressive to the extreme, faith_bian is one of the best roaming gankers in the world, always aware of when to precisely and effectively take apart his opponents.

2. Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka – JerAx has been the best support throughout 2016, setting up plays that turn the tide of games with frightening consistency. His Earth Spirit is legendary, and he retains one of the larger hero pools among supports. Despite this, he was unable to win a Major title on Team Liquid, whom he had played with for the better part of the year. It was only in joining OG that JeRax secured his first Valve title, which is likely to be the first of many. Whether on Liquid or OG, JerAx has proven to be a great initiator and a dependable support.

1. Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi – Miracle – is leagues ahead of every other player in Dota 2. There has been no other player throughout the year who has left as big of an impact as him in individual play, no matter what hero he chooses. Though he did participate at the most recent Major and fell short of glory at TI6, one Major title and three tournament wins is nothing to scoff at. If anything, his limited appearances in the back half of the year mean that he still has room to get better – a sobering thought for Miracle-‘s opponents.

Alexey “Solo” Berezin is a professional Dota 2 player currently playing support for Virtus. pro.

Contents

Biography [ edit ]

On June 16th, 2013, Solo received a lifetime ban from StarLadder for betting fraud against zRage. [1] On the 21st, Solo was officially removed from RoX after admitting his involvement. [2] Later, the ban was commuted to one year. [3]

The amount that Solo won from betting against his own team was $322, although he never received the money. Since then, Dota commentators and viewers frequently use the phrase “322” to mock particularly bad plays, implying that it almost appears that the player in question is attempting to throw the game.

He was playing on Rox. KIS for the first half of 2014 and after unsuccessful attempt dropped in TI4 qualifiers. The Rox squad disbanded and after TI4 Solo joined Team Empire. He has won Excellent Moscow Cup and left the team in December 2014.

In 2015 Solo turned up with his new team XX5 Gaming but this team had no great achievements and disbanded in a couple months later.

Later he joined Vega Squadron. Having won Hitbox EU Championship #2, Yard G2A Fest Ep.1 and Mountain Trail Challenge the team secured a slot in TI5 European Qualifiers. Vega achieved a Wild-Card slot in the qualifiers. At The International they lost to CDEC 1-2, won Team Archon 2-0 and lost to MVP Phoenix 2-1 and did not go further the tournament. Despite the fact that the team failed at TI, it didn’t disband. Vega won ESL One New York European Qualifier then won ESL One New York 2015 by beating EG, IG and Team Secret. The victory let Vega participate at The Frankfurt Major 2015 where they finished 9-12.

Vega couldn’t participate at Shanghai and Manila Majors and failed in TI6 qualifiers.

Later, in August, Virtus. Pro announced their new Dota 2 squad with XBOCT, God, Noone, Lil and Solo. The final roster was Ramzes666, Noone, 9pasha, Lil, Solo.

In October the team received an invitation to The Boston Major 2016 Europe Qualifier and managed to qualify for The Boston Major 2016. They placed 5th-8th after a 2-0 loss to Evil Geniuses.

After a dominant performance in the Kiev Major 2017 CIS Qualifier in March of 2017, Virtus. Pro went on to place 2nd at the main event. They put up an excellent performance but fell in 5 games to the 4-time Valve Major champions, OG. Their set against OG was documented in Valve’s True Sight documentary. The documentary was criticized by many to misrepresent the team dynamic of Virtus. Pro as chaotic and even hostile. Despite this, Virtus. Pro stayed with the same roster as The International 2017 season began.

After the Kiev Major, Solo’s drafting was criticized as being very one-dimensional. Solo and his team set out to prove that notion wrong at the DotA Summit 7, where they drafted 81 of the 112 available heroes in 17 games. The team had 16 drafts with entirely unique heroes, but Solo re-picked heroes in game 5 of the Grand Finals to ensure a victory over Team Secret and a first place finish at a Premiere tournament, securing them a direct invite to The International 2017.

Shadow Raze

Dota 2 shadow fiend raze guide

Presence of The Dark Lord

Dota 2 shadow fiend raze guide Selamat mencoba. Dota 2 shadow fiend raze guide

Infinite Crisis review

War of the worlds.

Infinite Crisis’s DC-flavoured play for the saturated MOBA market adapts but never really innovates.

It’s said that the curse started when George Keefer Brewer died at 45 years old, in circumstances that to this day remain unclear. Brewer, an Iowa native, all broad shoulders and a wide grin, is better known for his role as the favourite son of Krypton during the first television iteration of Superman. You’ve probably heard his name before in the context of The Superman Curse, which today is used as shorthand to describe the terrible fate that befalls those involved in creative adaptations of the franchise.

The Superman Curse, according to the esteemed members of the press, results in death, illness and bad luck. It’s all a load of crap, of course. But I think you’d be hard-pressed to argue that 30-odd years of failed Superman games doesn’t look mighty curse-like. From 1978’s Superman for the Atari 2600 to the Nintendo 64’s Superman, considered to be one of the worst games of all time, few games starring the man of steel have ever been commercially successful.

Infinite Crisis is the latest in this troubled lineage. It’s a MOBA, one of those laning battle arena games, that asks for two teams of five players to battle it out as heroes of the DC universe. It’s also very loosely connected to a short-lived comic of the same name which introduces the story of multiverses and alternate dimension heroes. Against a backdrop of The Green Lantern’s Coast City home, Infinite Crisis takes dozens of characters from strange and varied universes, and asks you to learn the fundamentals of MOBA play. It’s a simple premise: throttle super dogs and throw cars at Batman until you find your way to the enemy base and take out their core. Warring superfolk give perfect context for the sort of mad aggression you find in MOBAs.

But it seems like Infinite Crisis arrived slightly late to this MOBA party. For one, it only recently left beta, which puts it lagging behind its rivals – League of Legends and DotA 2 have both had years to cultivate their eSports presence, whereas Turbine is still working out the back-end for Infinite Crisis. The game is pretty much unplayable in Australia because of a lack of servers, and was slow as I played it in the UK as well. While it’s still early days, lag is often the greatest sin of online games, particularly as Turbine continues to ramp up its involvement in eSports.

It’s also an odd time to be dipping your toes in these waters. The stability of the genre has become much less of a certainty these days. Against a backdrop of cancelled projects like EA’s Dawngate, Turbine is in an uphill battle against expectation. But the studio finds its own pace in unruly terrain. Infinite Crisis sets itself apart from the fraternity of MOBA games by turning its focus to that cross-section of people who think the barriers-to-entry of MOBA gaming are too high. Here’s the pitch: for those who stare slack-chinned at YouTube videos explaining the complex nature of League’s meta, Infinite Crisis is for you.

Admittedly, it’s a common pitch for the modern MOBA studio. Blizzard has already helped lead the push to bring MOBA’s to non-MOBA players with the beta release of Heroes of the Storm. The game has become something of a model for turning notoriously hard genres into a more casual mutation. But for Turbine, the art of MOBA development is to retain some of the genre’s toughest traditions while allowing the player to choose their level of involvement.

If you already know what you’re doing then you’ll find most of the game’s features familiar. Old standards are introduced under new names. ‘Stolen Powers’ is a cypher for League of Legends’ Summoner Spells. Two of these special abilities are chosen immediately before a match, giving you the opportunity to make use of things like Poison Ivy’s Healing Wave or Superman’s Superstrength against the other team.

What kind of a team setup is required to kill Roshan before the match begins?

In the latest Dota 2 update notes, I noticed this line:

Fixed Roshan not respawning at the correct time if he was killed before creep spawn.

So now I’m curious, which heros and what items does a team need to be able to kill Roshan before a match even begins?

  • It would have to be fast (only 1 minute timer before match begins, it’d take probably 20-30 seconds just to walk there from the spawn point.)
  • There’d be at least 1 tank, possibly 2? Level 1 heros don’t have much health
  • What items are required to make this succeed? There’s only 600 gold per hero to work with.

With good control, any 5 heroes can kill Roshan before the match begins. It takes a good amount of teamwork and some money spent on health potions, however, and is easily punished if the opposing team realizes it. Because of this, the strategy is rarely seen.

There are certain heroes who are more effective at killing Roshan because of how their abilities work at level 1, and the increased speed or less punishment taken makes level 1 Roshan kills more common when some or multiple of the following are on a team:

  • Ursa (Fury Swipes stacks indefinitely)
  • Auras (Skeleton King, Luna, Drow, Beastmaster, Shadowfiend)
  • Lich (Frost Armor slows Roshan attack)
  • Venomancer (Wards can deal damage)
  • Vengeful Spirit (Howl reduces armor by 2)
  • Viper (Corrosive skin damages and slows attack speed)
  • Any summoner plus Enigma. Dota 2 level 1 rosh (Beastmaster, Nature’s Prophet, Lycan, etc.). You can convert that summon into Eidolons and use further summons to damage, depending on hero.
  • Lone Druid
  • Wisp (Double effectiveness of Healing Salves with Tether)
  • Timbersaw (Reactive Armor)

The reward is significant. Heroes will be halfway to level 3 if all split the experience, or if coordinated well one hero can be the only one within experience range and jump all the way to level 5. Each hero receives 200 gold and the killer gets a gold bounty of between 105-600 bonus gold. And, of course, the Aegis of the Immortal drops.

Items that help:

  • Ring of Basilius for the +2 armor aura is an obvious one.
  • Healing Salves. You can take turns tanking Roshan and healing quickly thereafter.
  • Smoke of Deceit. If you’re coming from the Radiant side, you’re likely to be spotted without this. It also wears off when the enemy is nearby so you can know if you’ve been spotted on the way in. It also increases movement speed to get you there faster.
  • Stats and regen. You are going to lane after this, and the bonus health and damage helps here too.

It’s worth noting that the most popular combo recently is simply Ursa plus Skeleton King. Two coordinated players can kill Roshan by themselves with these heroes. Here’s a v >
