»»Every Details About the Hero in This Tutorial

►Hero: Davion, the Dragon Knight, is a durable melee strength hero with a relatively straightforward and yet versatile skill set. He has both an area-of-effect nuke and a lengthy single-target stun, giving him excellent farming and ganking capabilities. Though he has no real escape ability, his Dragon Blood provides him a hefty amount of armor and regen, making him capable of withstanding strong physical hits and recovering quickly. He is still very vulnerable in the early game, however, and needs to farm and stay alive in order to be effective in later stages. If he has enough levels and farm, Dragon Knight is very formidable in the late game due to his strong ultimate, Elder Dragon Form, which transforms him into a legendary dragon with a ranged attack, capable of eliminating multiple enemies at once.

Anatomy of a Dota 2 Replay File

Where are these replay files?

If you’re here, you already know that a. Dota 2 replay take overs dem file is a Dota 2 game replay. You can find these files in different places, depending on your platform.

Mac OS X:

/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/dota 2 beta/dota/replays

Windows: in a similar directory structure in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam .

Linux: well, you have the find command, don’t you?

In any case, when you download a replay in-game, this is where they end up. You will see these files referred to interchangeably as “demo” and “replay.”

Google Protocol Buffers (aka “protobuf”)

Google Protocol Buffers are a lightweight system for defining communications across a network. Protobuf messages definitions are written in a special mini-language. To get code for handling these messages, they must be “compiled” targeting a specific programming language, like Python or Java. Dota 2 replay take overs

The good news is: all of this is done for you in smoke. You can see the protobuf definitions in demo2.proto , and the compiled code in dota2_palm. py . When new versions of the Dota 2 client come out, if they break smoke, the protobufs might just need updating. If you notice this, open an issue!

SteamRE is an excellent reverse engineering project which maintains up-to-date Dota 2 protobufs. This project uses their files.

Replays are simple.

Replays are very simple in format. The data are complex, but the format is simple. A replay starts with a twelve-byte header.

The first 8 bytes are a string literal PBUFDEM\0 .

The next 4 bytes are a little-endian unsigned integer indicating a byte offset in the file to a game summary protobuf message.

The remainder of the file are entries of the following pattern (smoke refers to one set of these data as a Peek ):

. where kind , tick , and size are protobuf-encoded variable-length integers (aka “varints”).

message is protobuf-encoded binary data of length size . If kind has a certain bit set, message must be decompressed with Google’s snappy library before deserializing it with protobuf.

tick is mostly irrelevant, but for completeness it’s the time elapsed in replay time. It’s analagous to the position of the progress bar watching a replay. No relation to game time.

Other than that, the code generated from dota2.proto handles deserialization of message data. Dota 2 replay take overs And once you have a protobuf object, it’s simple property access.

Of course, it’s not that simple. All the messages at the top level of replay files (as described above) are referred to as “DEM” messages in the protobuf definitions. There are a finite and small set of them. Here are the actual values of kind (minus the compression bit, listed last):

✝ has embedded data

✝✝ has an embedded DEM_Packet , which itself has embedded data

✝✝✝ no one really knows wtf this is yet, but it’s related to “replay takeover” and probably has the entire world state embedded in it

DEM_SignonPacket and DEM_Packet are both parsed as DEM_Packet , but the “signon” variety have vital pre-game information used to set up state required for processing.

Within some of these DEM protobuf messages (marked above) there is yet another, embedded stream of two entirely different classes of messages. These classes are “svc” and “net”, and they share a numeric namespace:

Unlike “DEM” class messages, these embedded streams have no tick in the header. Otherwise, they are very similar:

Embedded messages are never compressed.

To understand replays–and, of course, to parse them–you have to understand all of the “DEM,” “svc,” and “net” messages and what they mean. First, some concepts.

After 3 Seasons, the Dota 2 Reporter might start to wind down

For those unfamiliar with the Dota 2 Reporter, the series focuses on the eponymous Dota 2 reporter as he learns the various mechanics of the game, while at the same time pointing out the absurdity of them in a real world context. The series has reached 57 episodes with the conclusion of the 3rd season on the horizon.

The first episode of the Dota 2 Reporter

Brian Calland on what inspired him to create the DOTA 2 reporter
When asked about what inspired to create the show, Brian stated that it dates back to his teenage years. “When I was 14 I visited Newgrounds. com a lot, and for some reason there I was like ‘what if I made stupid things like that’ (. ) I saw a bunch of video game parodies when I was there, and I was like ‘Ya I’ll do a video game parody’ (. ) Eventually, I don’t know why it was in this format of like a reporter in the middle of the game but I did an original Star Craft reporter in 2006(. ) I made it and it was terrible obviously. I guess from that cartoon I thought that putting a static neutral character in the middle of the game and comment on the absurdity of it all.”

Brian Calland on his history with animation
Brian has no previous experience with animation outside of Flash. However, he did mention that he went to film school. “I went to film school thinking about being a director but then I realised if I stuck to doing the Dota 2 Reporter, I have 100% control over everything and no one can touch it.”

The two man team behind the show
When writing the script for the show, Brian describes his approach to scriptwriting as “unconventional”. “Id compare my appraoch to that of South Park, where I start a script for that week only and then just make it and hope that it works.” When asked if he has the scripts pre-written and then proceeds, he answered that none of the scritps are pre-written and starts fresh every week.

There are only two people who work on the show, himself and his friend Mike. “There are 2 of us doing the voices. Mike does the lower register characters (. ) He does a very good Tidehunter. He doesnt know anything about the game which makes it really funny to work with him.” Outside of that Brian does all the heavy lifting alone, which includes the animation, scriptwriting and sound editing.

One of our personal favourite Dota 2 Reporter episodes

Brian’s extended break from Dota 2 and what it means for the show
Brian mentioned that he was taking an extended break from the game since he felt that it was becoming more work than play. When asked if he saw the show as work, he had this to say: “I enjoy doing it, and I am happy to be doing it, it’s just that sometimes I have this thought in the back of my mind where I dont play the game as much aanymore, Im sure I will eventually since I am on my extended break, but I still like the characters that I guess you can say that I made them. I like to write, I love to make the things happen, I just. when Im trying to think of a ways to end the episode Im just like ‘umm. ummm. they destroy a building'”

Season 4 might follow different format from previous seasons
Brian briefly talked about the future of the show when asked if there will be a fourth season. “Theirs going to be. something. I’ll address it like this; I dont how much Im going to follow the format as I have been with like seasons and further episodes not making any sense if you hadnt seen the other ones. So maybe I’ll do some stuff where its more like “Oh you can actually see other heroes then the 10 I’ve locked in here for over half a year”.

He also briefly mentioned what he might be doing in the future outside of the Dota 2 Reporter. “Ive been contemplating having a side channel for like gameplay and stuff, nothing that takes like 2 weeks to do, just some fun stuff to do”

So if I advertise and pay advertisments all over the play for me being multi billionaire and giving away my fortune to the first 100k likes/subscribers, would it be true? I wonder . xD

To cut the joke .. it’s the internet, and internet offers loads of “your ultimate dreams” and if it requires your account information, payment card information, or your other personal information, without having REAL PROFF that it is legal, safe and secured, avoid it.

Yeah one counterpoint to this argument. It’s not legit at all because it’s using the data you see.

The devs have all of the information to act on suspected cheaters. So letting a third-party boy try to detect cheats based off of the data you see in front of you is not a good benchmark.

But go on, tell me, hows your cheater hunt going FaZaa?

it picks up some cheats

You are not allowed to advertise sites here.

Advertising: Hey guys, check this new site out, it’s really great! It scans your games, and improves your skills in 2 weeks guaranteed! Try it now!!

A normal question: Hey guys, is this website legit? Is this some kind of scam?

Looks like I have to explain some obvious stuff to younger folk, the difference between two terms, that can be misunderstood. One thing is asking about something, other is to advertise.

This gosu. ai “anti-cheat” picks up buttloads of false positives based on poor data analysis. I’ve seen it mark players as cheaters who were hilariously bad and whose in-game replays showed countless human errors instead of scripted bot combos as gosu claimed. And you know what you can do with that data or those claims of “ermagerds gosu sez he waz cheating!” Nothing. And again, from what I’ve seen, it makes hilariously bad cheater claims constantly.

You can analyze your own matches with free sites like dotabuff or opendota without paying a dime. I can already tell you what these coaches are going to tell you. They’re going to tell you, you need to watch your lane pushing/blocking, map awareness/positioning, watch for gank opportunities, always be pushing, farming, defending, ganking or doing something that provides you with xp, gold or strategic advantage, don’t overpush, don’t chase into unwarded territory, don’t move out of position into spots where you can be easily ganked, and so on and so on.

Now these coaches can tell you all day long, what you should do or what you should have done but everything you need to know is already available in countless free guides and tutorials. It’s a lot easier said than done. There are no magic hero builds that will make you an unstoppable juggernaut. Mechanical skills, timing and positioning are all on you.

Dendi

Danil “Dendi” Ishutin (born December 30, 1989) is a Ukrainian professional Dota 2 and former DotA player. Well known for his solo mid skills, he is regarded as one of the most creative players in the scene today, and is renowned for his unorthodox play style and unconventional skill and item builds. After having played for Natus Vincere for the entirety of his professional Dota 2 career, he finally departed the active roster for the first time in September 2018. He currently plays for The Pango.

Biography [ edit ]

Born in Lviv, Ukraine, Dendi got an early start with competitive gaming in net cafes when his elder brother married, moved out and took the family’s PC with him. Dabbling with Counter-Strike first, he soon found Warcraft 3 where he played in local tournaments and built a love for the competition and a thirst to be the best. Though he was quite successful in Warcraft 3 and even won a few local championships in Lviv, he knew he had found his calling when he stumbled upon DotA. He picked up the game quickly and played it almost exclusively over the next few months.

Beginning with learning only supports, he practiced heavily and was quickly vouched to the IHCS1 league and soon created his own team for tournaments in Lviv. After he led his team to a championship in Kiev, he was drafted by a team called “Wolker. Gaming” and began his professional career at 17.

DotA [ edit ]

Dendi started playing professionally with WG in 2006. [1] He was a part of the Ukrainian squad that finished third in MYM Prime Nations the same year. Only a few months later WG made it to the grand final of one of the most prestigious tournaments at the time; MYM Prime Defending. [2] When Kingsurf. international merged with WG the next year he became a full-time member of Ks. int. [1] In late 2008 he joined DTS, only to return to Ks. int in March 2009. [3] Three months later though, Dendi returned to DTS. [4] The team would end up finishing 2nd at ESWC 2010. At the end of 2010, Dendi and DTS finished 3rd at the prestigious WDC 2010. [5] Dendi joined Natus Vincere at the end of 2010. [6]

Dota 2 [ edit ]

Dendi started his Dota 2 career with Na’Vi, who quickly established themselves as one of the best teams in the world by winning The International 2011. Na’Vi continued to dominate and won many tournaments in the years 2011, 2012 and 2013. Dendi was the center of Na’Vi’s consistent stable and skilled rosters, with his performance greatly contributing to their success.

The Natus Vincere Dota 2 team achieved significant success with Dendi as their midlaner during the first few years of the game; they finished as the runners-up for both The International 2012 and The International 2013, losing out to Invictus Gaming and Alliance, respectively. 2013 would mark the last year of Na’Vi and Dendi’s dominance in the Dota 2 scene, as they only recorded two LAN victories since January 2014. The International 2014 saw Na’Vi and Dendi finishing the tournament outside of the top 2 for the first time and the following two Internationals, TI 5 and TI 6, they would finish in last place. The results would deteriorate further, as they would fail to even qualify for The International 2017, they failed to advance out of the group stage of the regional qualifiers. This marked the first year of The International tournaments without Dendi attending as a player. The 2017/18 season started of promising for Dendi and Na’Vi, who dominated the CIS scene in the early months, crowning their improving results with their second LAN victory since 2014. However, the second half of the season saw the roster break apart and finally the team would fail to even reach the regional qualifiers for The International 2018, after losing in the open qualifier.

Four years of roster instability and poor results finally took their toll on the reputation of the Na’Vi organization and on Dendi’s status as a legendary player and a top tier midlaner. After 8 years playing mid on Na’Vi, Dendi was finally removed from the active roster in September 2018. However, Dendi vowed to continue playing professionally. After a brief stint on Tigers, Dendi joined The Pango.

One of the things that makes it hardest for me to transition from League of Legends to Dota 2 apart from the various gameplay differences, is the map aesthetic. Sure the UI is huge and clunky compared to the scalable one in LoL but the map is really what makes it hard for me to play. I can’t read it, I can’t see where I am, everything is so flat and looks the same to me. The only way for me to know where on the map I stand is to look at that tiny little box on the minimap.

This was a problem for me when I tried to play HoN too, but HoN was a hundred times worse at this than Dota 2.

But well instead of being all talk, let me just point out examples and why I think this is happening.

If you take a look at the one on the left (LoL) and compare it to the one on the right (Dota) You can see that the camera seems to be located significantly lower in Dota 2 [dota2strategyguide. com] (compare the boxes on the minimap) from the ground, but the same from the head of the champion

As such, the map in Dota 2 is probably a lot bigger than the one in LoL so the camera has less coverage around the PC even if it’s at the same height.

Solutions:
1: Downscaling the map (Easiest way, no loss of graphical quality either)
2: Upscaling the champions and moving the camera higher (Harder since each champion’s model needs to be upscaled and loss of graphical quality as the textures will look worse if they are upscaled)

If you look at this, you can see that the trees are more clearly defined in LoL than dota, they also have more color variation, this makes them look slightly more cartoony, but it also makes it easier to detect them. The thing with the trees in LoL is also that they are not placed on a walkable path (as in you can’t cut down trees in LoL like you can in Dota)

You will also see that everywhere people are normally going to walk in LoL has a very clearly defined road, whereas in Dota the road is not as clearly defined at all (for instance where that flying thing is there seems to be some sort of road but it blends in so much with the grass it can’t be seen.

Solutions:
1: Thicker roads that are more clearly defined as not being part of the grass, and a higher color variation between the trees and grass
2: I don’t have another idea. Dota 2 clunky controls corporation

Overall I think it comes down to contrast, and putting less similar colors next to each other. Look here for example

on one side of that road, the road is clearly defined away from the grass which is clearly defined away from the treeline. On the other side we have the road not clearly defined from the grass which is almost exactly the same color, but the treeline is still very clearly defined away from the grass (in other words adding a darker color to the grass next to the road here on that side would solve that problem.

The game looks good, I never had a problem with that, neither game has inferior graphics it’s just that they’re in different style. Dota 2 is in a semi-realistic style whereas League of Legends is cartoony. But bottom line is, I need to be able to see a bigger area around my character to feel comfortable (I even think it’s too low in LoL), and I need to be able to clearly see road from grass from tree to be able to enjoy it. I have no doubt that playing more will allow the graphics to grow on you, but having some sort of option to change the contrast and color vibrance in the game could probably do wonders for “readability” of the playing field and it’s objects.

Lastly; fog of war isn’t dark enough for me to see that it is fog of war and not something in my vision range.

It might also be a cool solution to allow players to use texture pack mods (for the map, not for the characters)

Hotkeys

The hotkeys settings can be accessed by clicking on the little gear icon in the most top left corner in the main menu. Here, the player can customize many hotkeys, or select one of the many pre-set hotkey templates. Almost every key on the keyboard can be bound to something, with a very few exceptions. The exceptions usually have a set purpose in the game and thus are un-rebindable.

Contents

Unbindable keys [ edit ]

Several hotkeys have a set purpose, which cannot be changed. This results in them mostly being un-rebindable.

  • The following keys are completely unbindable: ESC, SHIFT (left and right), CTRL (left and right), MOUSE 1, MOUSE 2
  • The ALT key can only bound together with other keys, as a combo key. The ALTGR key is treated as the same key.
    • Although the ALT modifier can be bound to another key, ALT is still unbindable. When the modifier gets rebound, ALT has no use.
  • The WINDOWS KEY (left and right) (or COMMAND KEY on Apple keyboards) are unbindable, but they can be turned bindable in the advanced hotkey settings. These keys keep their default function, which is opening the start menu on the desktop. This is true even when the keys get bound ingame.
  • The PRINT KEY is fully bindable, but it also keeps its default function, which is to take screenshots.
  • The following keys are bindable on their own, but cannot be combined with ALT: PRINT KEY, TAB
  • All other standard keys are bindable.

Basic hotkeys [ edit ]

Basic hotkeys are active while playing a match. The player can change the hotkeys at any time, even during a match. There are hotkeys for abilities, items, unit actions, shop actions, chat, interface and control groups. In the advanced hotkeys, there are additional settings for unit actions, shop actions, interface and control groups, and the hotkeys for camera actions, saved camera positions and some hotkey setting options.

Hotkey templates [ edit ]

By default, the game uses the “Arrow (Default)” hotkey layout. The player can choose from a variety of pre-set hotkey templates, which can be found by clicking on “Reset hotkeys. ” at the bottom left of the settings menu. Available templates are:

Abilities [ edit ]

There are 6 ability slots which can be used. If one slot is empty and contains no ability, it is not visible in-game, and all abilities coming after it are moved together. For example, if a unit has an ability in slot 1 and 3, but no ability in slot 2, then the 2nd slot is not visible and the 3rd ability is moved next to the 1st ability, so that there is no gap. However, the slots are still bound according to the settings. Despite the 3rd slot being moved to remove the gap, its hotkey is still equal to whatever is set for the 3rd slot in the ability hotkey settings.

Heroes usually have 3 abilities in their first 3 slots, and their ultimate always in the 6 slot. This causes the ultimate spell to always use whatever hotkey is set for the 6th slot, despite the ultimate visually appearing in the 4th slot. This is why the hotkey of the 4th ability on non-hero units is not equal to the hotkey of ultimate abilities. The non-hero unit has 4 abilities in its 4 slots and has the 5th and 6th slot empty, so they are not displayed. If its 4th ability would be moved to the 6th slot, it would make visually no difference, but change its hotkey to what is set in the 6th slot.

By default, the ability hotkeys apply to every unit the player controls. It is possible though, to bind different hotkeys to heroes, couriers and other units by turning “Unit Specific Hotkeys” on. It is also possible to bind unique hotkeys for each hero, however, this is not possible for other units. Clicking on “Clear” after having given non-hero units, couriers or an individual hero unique settings, sets the hotkeys back to what the player set as default.

The player can choose between regular cast (select spell and then select target) and quickcast (select spell and automatically cast it where the cursor is). Autocast is by default ALT+ability hotkey. It is possible to choose between regular and quickcast for couriers, non-heroes and for each hero, just like how unique bindings are possible. If the player wishes to use regular and quickcast, or wants to use different autocast hotkeys, the “Enable Advanced Quickcast/Autocast Hotkeys” setting can be turned on, which allows setting different hotkeys for regular, quick – and autocast for each slot. This also works together with unit specific hotkeys. However, advanced quickcast/autocast hotkeys is not compatible with legacy hotkeys. Here, the player can only decide between regular and quickcast, and autocast is always ALT+hotkey.

Template Description

Year In Review: Our Top Stories of 2017

A year of pub tier lists, event coverage, and guides have gone by. We celebrated our five year anniversary of Dotabuff. We endured the post-TI blues until the Dueling Fates update. We’ve written about how to cope with losing streaks, how to improve your warding, and how to stop last picking jungle heroes in pubs. Here are some of our favorite posts of 2017.

Patch 7.00 And The Magic Damage Ember Spirit

2016 ended with the long anticipated patch 7.00, and it was in the new year, as pro events picked up again, that we started seeing the diversity of new builds with the introduction of Talent trees. Ember Spirit’s magic damage variant was a surprising look in how Talents could pivot a heroes strengths.

Does Windranger Need A Buff?

Windranger had a brief spotlight in the meta in 2016, and though Talents might have given her a needed boost, it still wasn’t enough to bring back a fan favorite hero. Not every hero can be in the meta, but it’s been quite awhile for such a popular hero to be underpowered.

Crystal Maiden: The Queen of Pubs

Crystal Maiden is one of the most effective supports in Dota, and even more in pubs since she her aura benefits the team just by existing. We went through the base mechanics of the hero, what to build throughout the game, and how Talents have changed the hero.

Playing On Tilt

How do you recover from a loss streak? It seems that as it happens, we’re powerless to change the inevitable down spiral. Our own team is against us, the opponents are stacked, and we’re left exhausted. Sometimes there isn’t much that can be helped, but there are a few things to consider to manage losing in Dota. Why Is Winter Wyvern Dominating in 5k Pubs?

Five months ago kawaiisocks wrote this post, and it’s still relevant today, as Winter Wyvern rises as one of the top supports in the meta. Dota 2 true stories 34b

An Interview With Aui_2000

Ahead of TI qualifiers, Skim talked to Aui_2000 to talk about team NP, how his views have changed on the support role, and the importance of coaching.

The State Of Chinese Dota

Three years ago, China’s Dota teams had no equal in any other region. They dominated TI4, taking 5 out of the top 8 places of the tournament. In this post leading up to TI7, we look into the history of Chinese teams in Dota, and where it all went wrong.

TI7 Meta Recap

Team Liquid sweeps Newbee in the Grand Finals, and at the same time launching a period of post-TI blues of waiting until the next patch. But before that, there’s a small window to experiment and play the heroes of the tournament, which had its own meta. Dota 2 true stories 34b

Reliving The Biggest Moments of TI7

We covered the hundreds of games throughout TI7, but here are some of our favorite highlights of the event. This also showcased the debut of our clips feature, which showcases highlights from events, teams, matches, and heroes.

Five Years of Dotabuff

We celebrated our five year anniversary of Dotabuff in 2017. Here’s a look in how the site has changed over the years, starting from just a simple homepage driven by search and basic player statistics.

From Pub to Pro: The Timado Story

He started from 3.9k MMR and now he’s here: 16 years old and qualified for TI. We look into his ascent, and how he worked to find his way into Dota’s competitive pro scene.

How To Not Last Pick A Jungle Hero

Even with Iron Talon removed, pub players are still trying to wedge every hero into jungle roles. The idea is simple: you can’t lose the lane if you’re not in it. The jungle is peaceful and safe (for the most part). You can eat dinner and grab a beer while playing Dota, if your’e in the jungle. But going auto-pilot in the jungle also comes at a cost.

Dealing With Invisibility

This post is a necessary PSA for newcomers to Dota. Dota 2 true stories 34b Even though invisibility is a mechanic that is overwhelming strong in low to mid level pubs, it’s also effective in higher MMR and pro games, where concepts like creating pressure and space on the map come into play.

Dota Concepts For The Casual Viewer

Even watching Dota can be just as overwhelming as playing it. Hundreds of things can happen on the map simultaneously, while casters are riffing off the action like an auctioneer. Here are a few general concepts to get started on parsing the chaos of a Dota game.

Improve Your Warding

There’s more to warding than placing the ones at the start of the game. Warding is its own game within the game, an underground battle between opposing supports trying to outwit the other. We wrote about how to play the clock, hide your movements on the map, and when to exactly ward.

The Importance of Turn Rates

Turn rate is a quirky mechanic to Dota that can be frustrating for gamers of other MOBAs. But some heroes couldn’t exist if this interaction wasn’t part of the game. Melee heroes would be endlessly kited. Earthshaker would be overpowered if he could pull off an instant-180-Fissure. Over time, turn rates have been an essential part of Dota’s game design and maturity.

Camera Lock and Farther Zoom

Reason: Would give the player more ways to customize their experience without giving themselves an unfair advantage.

Backstory: I played my first PvP match an hour ago and went 15-6-14, but there was only one major problem. The problem was, I didn’t think it was a bad game, it’s just that I didn’t want to play another game because I was tired of having to pan the camera to keep up with my hero. If I had the option to camera lock I would’ve been able to concentrate on micro mechanics more and, as a result, be able to enjoy playing the game.

I’ve been playing League of Legends for a couple of years now and the only problem I have with that game is the fact that I can’t zoom out that far. It’s not something I have trouble with very often, it’s only a problem when I play Ashe or Nidalee.

So basically I suggest that a Camera Lock option be added and max zoom distance be made farther.

This was originally posted on a fansite and an administrator suggested I ask the devs.

no it affects balance and camera lock is a bad way to learn dota if you ever want to improve

Camera Lock hinders the aspect of you learning map awareness.
I mean, why would you bother with your own teammates being ganked when your camera is locked on to you.

Camera zoom GIVES you a heightened sense of map awareness but hinders your targeting.
You could accidentally laguna blade a creep instead of a hero when youre zoomed out.

In my opinion, option like that in LoL is what tones down the skill cap of people.
It unintentionally made the player think more about himself rather than the stuff on the map.

So please dont suggest something that you like to be implemented because it was already a
convenience to you from that other kiddie game that shall not me mentioned here. (oh crap, i just did)

TL : DR
Improve your map awareness, focus on the map and your team, not admiring your character.

Adjusting camera zoom in a game affects balance. You can zoom in and out in a replay though. Not sure about a cheats-on custom lobby.

It is also possible to lock the camera on your hero, but you really shouldn’t do so. You should be looking around at all times. Really. Your awareness will go up. But it may be possible to bind your keys such that something like space will lock your camera to your hero, but you’ll still be able to pan the camera as necessary. hm. can’t be arsed to find the command myself though at the moment ;0

SUGGESTION – play around with your cam accel and speed settings until it gets relatively comfortable

Whenever I say something about camera lock people don’t realize that when you have camera lock turned on you can still click on the map to see what’s going on, think before you post and I’ll reply to one of you.

And how are you going to move your hero or cast spells after “click on the map to see what’s going on” while viewing that place?

I think dota 2 can benefit from a option of zooming out further. If everyone can do this then it’ll not be a balance issue and will render all these camera hacks useless.
