Dota 2 Console and Autoexec. cfg and Best Commands to Use

Before I tell you what are best console commands, let me first share some basic information with you.

What is Dota 2 Console

Dota 2 Console is a window which opens in Dota 2 game just like command prompt in any windows. It allows users to add different commands to change anything related to Dota 2. You can add those commands via Dota 2 Console, or you can use them in autoexec. cfg file.

How to use Dota 2 Console

In old Dota 2 there was a long procedure to activate and use Dota 2 Console, but in Dota 2 reborn, its simple.

  1. Sign in to Steam and launch Dota 2.
  2. Go to Dota 2 settings and further in Options. In bottom right most option, check “Enable Console
  3. Now go to Hotkeys and there select any key for Console.
  4. When in game, you will press that key console will appear.
  5. If you want to close it, then just press that selected key again or click X icon on the top right corner of the console window.

What is autoexec. cfg

If we want to use lots of commands in our console, then its very difficult to type lots of commands each time we start Dota 2. So we can automate that process by adding a new file in our Dota 2 folder. That new file we add is “autoexec. cfg” and we add console commands in it. Each time game starts, this file automatically executes all those commands which are written in autoexec. cfg file.

How to use autoexec. cfg

To make things easy I will suggest you go to Control Panel >> Tools >> Folder Options >> Uncheck – Hide extensions for known file types.

  1. First of all, go to your check if your operating system is 32 bit or 64 bit. Then choose the appropriate path.
    • For 32-bit Windows:C:/Program Files >>Steam>>steamapps >>common >>dota 2 beta >>dota >>cfg
    • For 64-bit Windows:C:/Program Files (x86) >>Steam >>steamapps >>common >>dota 2 beta >>dota>>cfg
  2. In case you have installed the game in any drive other than C, then you should just go to “dota 2 beta >>dota >>cfg”.
  3. Right-click anywhere in the opened window then click New and select Text Document
  4. Once new text document is created, name it autoexec. cfg and then press Enter. So now we have created a blank autoexec. cfg and now it is ready and it has the necessary file type.
  5. Now you must open it with Notepad where you can add or delete your required commands.
  6. When you play your first game, whatever commands you added in your “autoexec. cfg” will also be added automatically in your main configuration file which is “config. cfg“. To stop Dota 2 from doing it, right-click on config. cfg >> Properties >> Attributes >> Read-only.
  7. The file is created now and we need it to load automatically whenever we start Dota 2. To do so, go to Steam ⇒ Library⇒ Right click on Dota 2 – Properties ⇒ Set Launch Options ⇒ add +exec autoexec. cfg

You do not have to remove the quotation marks (“”) from commands

So, now you may ask, what are the commands that I need to add in autoexec. cfg. So you can see below, these are the best to use commands in Dota 2 and most of the commands are used by Pro Dota 2 players like Funn1k and Arteezy. If you want to their files, you can just download the autoexec. cfg files used by these pro players, or you can make a new file for yourself and use whatever you want.

Here is a list of Dota 2 Console Commands which had ALL the commands.

Best Dota 2 Console Commands

For now, I will write down below about console commands which Na’Vi Funn1k and Arteezy use during the game. I will also explain what those commands actually do and why should we use it.

Arteezy’s Autoexec. cfg file

Also here is Arteezy’s old cfg (dont know if still actual):

Copy commands after line below.

con_enable “1” //Enables Console

cl_cmdrate “60” //Amount of updates sent to server per second

cl_updaterate “60” //Amount of updates received from server per second

rate “80000” //Total amount of bandwith dota may use

cl_interp “0” //More network stuff below…

dota_camera_disable_zoom “1” //Can’t zoom camera in

dota_disable_range_finder 0 //Shows spells are within casting range of targeted area/target

dota_minimap_hero_size 1100 //Changes the size of heroes on the minimap

dota_minimap_misclick_time “0” //Removes delay before allowing input on minimap

dota_health_hurt_decay_time_max “0” //Fade time on Damage done/received reduced to instant

bind “F1” “dota_camera_setpos -2273.898682 1232.745483 982.072876” // Top Rune, Camera Bind

bind “F2” “dota_camera_setpos 3035.773438 -2972.680176 966.072937” // Bot Rune, Camera bind

Copy till above line.

These are old commands to activate network information which Funn1k and Arteezy used. But these commands are no more required. Now in Dota 2 Reborn, you can activate it via your Dota 2 settings. Simply go to Dota 2 >> Settings >> Options >> Check show network information. See image below for easy understanding.

Funn1k autoexec. cfg (Source)

Copy commands after line below.

rate “80000” – Max bytes/sec the host can receive data. Autoexec dota 2 reborn buggy .

cl_updaterate “30” – Number of packets per second of updates you are requesting from the server.

cl_cmdrate “30” – Max number of command packets sent to server per second.

cl_interp “0.05” – Sets the interpolation amount (bounded on low side by server interp ratio settings)..

cl_interp_ratio “2” – Sets the interpolation amount.

cl_smooth “1” – Smooth view/eye origin after prediction errors.

cl_smoothtime “0” – Smooth client’s view after prediction error over this many seconds.

Intro to midding ES

This is my guide and build to playing Earthshaker mid lane.

Be aware that the only 2 heroes that will pretty much outrune/beat ES are PotM , Queen of pain, and sometimes Storm spirit. With that in mind let me go through the basics of laning mid as ES.

You can’t really do anything until you hit level 4 or so hero harass wise. When the enemy hero plays up on your ramp as the creeps are pushing into your tower try to fissure block him from going back down the ramp. For sentinel, try and force him down bottom river, and vice versa for scourge. This will force him to run all the way around and missing exp / creeps while giving you time to freely kill creeps.

You do start with a Quelling blade. It’s very important that you master Earthshaker’s attack animation. Farm is pretty key early on. He has solid base damage and can out deny/cs any hero but Doom/rexxar.

As far as rune control goes, You need to be on the ball when runes spawn. Be aware of where the rune is at, and where the opposing mid hero is at. Earthshaker has dominant rune control simply because he can fissure off lanes and just pick up the rune with no contest from the other hero, exceptions being QoP, Potm , and past lvl 6 Stormspirit.

With these runes it’s very important that you save and use carefully haste and invis runes. They are your substitute blink dagger / Shadow blade early on. I can’t explain how rape it is hit lvl 6, grab a haste or invis rune and just double kill a lane. It’s a great feeling and it’s just a great perk to m >

Items

+3 gg branches + 2x sets of regen and a quelling blade for dominant creep score at start.

Get your bottle first, then boots and a Town portal. ES is a great counter ganker, PLZ CARRY TPS

Magic wand is a must after that. Smoke of deceit is great for the speed boost on entry combined with phase boots when you don’t have your shadow blade or a invis/ haste rune.

I usually go power treads, but lately with this battle mid build I find phase boots to be more effective, also the phase active is nice when you don’t have any runes to try and place a good ult, + the damage for creep score is great.

Item wise I skip blink dagger and go for a more damage route. Normally I would never do this but due to the recent buff in 6.69 to Earthshaker’s enchant totem, they buffed the damage at max rank from 200% to 300%. It might not sound like a huge difference, but it’s just enough to make him battle viable.

For example, say you just finished your Shadow blade, and all your cooldowns are up. This would be the rotation of spells you would do to dominate someone.

Find your target>> enchant totem out of sight >> wait 3-4 seconds >> shadow blade to your target >> hit the target, doing 300% base dmg + the 125 from shadow blade >> fissure after landing your first totem hit >> auto attack >> enchant totem >> hit.

This combo does about 1200 damage, and that’s without your ultimate. With your ultimate it’s almost a sure fire kill. Plus it’s a ****ing blast to just like 2 shot supports.

Following Shadow blade, I pick up armlet. Since enchant totem is determined by your base damage ( strength ), armlet buffs this ability in a godly manner adding 90 dmg to your enchant totem, on top of the already 65 dmg from armlet being active.

Make sure that once you have armlet, you activate it before you shadow blade in. ( Man up, the drain doesn’t do that much damage )

Now I know what you’re thinking, “If the enemy team is smart they will just purchase sentry wards / gem. That’s fine, the sell back value of shadow blade is 1600. If it becomes that big of a deal for you just sell it and buy a blink dagger.

And yea after that just get a heart then crit stick and run the game.

Skills

Maxing aftershock is more effective damage wise and mana wise early on. Earthshaker’s early mana pool is very limiting so use your spells wisely.

Max fissure after aftershock with one point in enchant totem at 4 of course.

Make sure you practice stop casting. It’s very important for fissure and your enchant totem.

Pros / Cons

There really are no cons to this build other than being owned by a Queen of pain, Priestess of the moon , Storm spirit ( only past level 6 ) mid, but I always ban those 3 heroes if I’m going to mid Earthshaker.

Other than that there are no flaws to playing him m >

Can’t Bet on Dota2Lounge: 4 Problems and Solutions

Dota 2 Lounge is a community-operated skins betting and trading site for Dota 2, which primarily employs Steam bots in order to automate the betting process somewhat. When betting items on Dota 2 Lounge, users temporarily hand their skins over to bots through the Steam client, which hold the items until the match is completed. Should the bet win, the items are returned and the winnings given the same way. Should the bet lose, the bot keeps the items permanently.

As you would imagine, Dota 2 Lounge users experience problems from time to time when betting on the site. Bots can occasionally bug out, the site itself could go down, or even Steam itself could get in the way of a smooth betting experience. Here are a few such issues that you might encounter when wagering your hard-earned hats on Dota 2 Lounge.

Steam Mobile Authenticator issues
Steam’s new trading rules require the use of a mobile authenticator in order to conduct trades that go through instantly. Otherwise, trades are subject to a 7-day delay — which effectively prevents betting on Dota 2 Lounge. To get past this issue, attach the Steam mobile authenticator to your Steam account, download the app onto your smartphone, then wait 7 days. This initial wait will only apply once, right after you attach the authenticator to your account. Once that’s done, you will be free to trade with Dota 2 Lounge’s bots. This has the bonus effect of carrying over to Steam trades in general, so there’s more than just one reason to attach an authenticator.

Steam trading URL expired
In some cases, your assigned trading URL refuses to work entirely, which also affects the ability to bet on Dota 2 Lounge. This will manifest itself in the form of the trade window closing before you are able to finalize the bet with the bot assigned to you, thus effectively preventing any betting whatsoever. To remedy this problem, go to your Dota 2 Lounge profile, remove your URL from the field, then copy it back. Click the “Change” button to complete the process.

Bots are offline
Dota 2 Lounge’s bots are sometimes found out of service entirely. This can happen when Steam’s trading system itself is disabled by Valve, for whatever reason. Usually the solution to this is to simply wait for Valve to turn the trading system back on, although sometimes the problem is on Dota 2 Lounge’s end. In such a case, it’s best to check the site’s official Facebook page for any updates on the situation. They post almost every day so if there are any problems with the bots there is a high chance that they’ll be updating users on what’s going on.

Items are not returned upon winning a bet
This is perhaps the worst issue that can arise from betting on Dota 2 Lounge. Errors that cause items to not be returned to their owners after winning bets or items simply not showing up under the “My Bets” section on the website do happen, and when they do then it’s a case of missing items. The Dota 2 Lounge admins suggest opening a ticket through the missing items reporting function on their site when this happens, after which they will comb inventory histories and betting records in order to recover your items. The problem here is that all of this will be done manually, which could lead to further issues due to human error. Furthermore, any attachments on lost items such as gems and inscriptions will not be returned, as Dota 2 Lounge states that such things will not be their responsibility. Still, it’s better than leaving your items out in the wild.

These are only some of the common problems that users may encounter betting on Dota 2 Lounge, as it is regulated entirely by members of the Dota 2 community and not a reputable gambling company like those that run our favourite online betting websites. Dota 2 Lounge is not affiliated with Valve in any shape or form, so technically speaking they are not obligated to assist you with these issues. There is also no guarantee that your items will be safe after having bots hold them for a period of time, which can sting even more if you lose items that you purchased with actual cash.

Thus, we recommend playing on real money online betting sites as opposed to unregulated and unlicensed skins betting sites. Licensed online betting sites are far safer to play on and will help you out whenever you run into issues. Not to mention that winning real money betting on Dota 2 games is far more rewarding than winning some skins that you still have to sell off afterwards to get any monetary value out of them. Of course, we understand that in some territories skins betting may be the only legal choice, but for those living in places where online gambling isn’t illegal, we will always put legal bookmakers over community-run sites.

How to watch Dota 2’s The International, the biggest esports event of the year

Nearly $25 million is on the line at this year’s tournament.

Even though Fortnite streams and Overwatch leagues seem to be grabbing all the headlines these days, the great grandparent of modern esports competitions, The International, is still the biggest esports event of the year. Since 2011, the world’s biggest Dota 2 tournament has drawn huge audiences. One of the biggest reasons: It has, by far, the biggest prize pool of any esports tournament, currently sitting at roughly $24.5 million — and that sum is likely to go up before the main event begins Monday, Aug. 20.

The International starts with a prize pool of $1.6 million, but Valve offers a Battle Pass for $10 to all players that lets them earn rewards by playing while the competition is going on. Players can earn things like new character skins, new in-game announcer voices, item skins and more. Twenty-five percent of the cost of each Battle Pass is then added to the prize pool over the course of the event. As it stands now, the winning team would take home over $10 million.

The International has already gone through several early rounds, but next week we move into the main event, which runs from August 20 to Friday, August 25.

Fortnite didn’t invent the battle pass, after all.

What is Dota 2?

For those who are unfamiliar with the game, Dota 2 is a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game where two teams of five players square off on a large map, each with a home base (called an Ancient). The two teams go to battle to try to ultimately destroy the other team’s Ancient and win the game.

Though it might sound easy, it’s an extremely complex game that’s difficult to learn and extremely hard to master. There are more than 100 heroes to choose from, each with a suite of unique special abilities. As you play, you earn gold you can use to buy items over the course of the game that will add to your stats and abilities. Knowing which items to buy and combine to maximize your hero’s powers takes time to learn, and that’s before you even talk about the strategy of controlling battle lanes, how to engage in battles with your specific hero against different heroes and how to work with a team to control the playing field and finally destroy your opponents’ Ancient.

With all that said, when a team knows what it’s doing, a match can turn on a dime making a tournament between pro teams especially exciting. And since The International is the biggest Dota 2 tournament of the year, there’s a good chance you’ll be watching the best of the best.

How to watch the International

There are a few different ways to get in on the action. You can watch live through Steam Broadcasting, get on Twitch (no login required) or go to a place near where you live that hosts Pubstomp events. But the best way to watch, especially if you already play the game, is to watch from within the Dota 2 client itself.

By watching from within the game, you can change cameras at will, follow specific players if you have favorites, and you can listen to a multicast in English, Chinese or Russian that offers up highlights of matches as they’re being played.

Or, if you happen to be lucky enough to find yourself in the possession of a ticket to the in-person event, The International will be held at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada. Dota 2 tournaments in bangalore 2016 holidays

Every game starts off slowly, but once it gets going it can get crazy.

How To Flame Your Teammates

Sometimes it’s hard to accept that you’re not the perfect Dota player, who can Blink Dagger a perfect 1200 range, place perfect observer wards, de-ward opponent’s wards on cue, and last hit perfectly. It’s easier, by far, to say your teammate sucks. Welcome to flaming 101, or in other words: how to exempt yourself from blame by blaming others. As a team game, Dota relies on the interplay of each member, each with unique roles and responsibilities, and it’s inevitable that there will be a time with a fair amount of finger pointing. However, there is a better way to go about it than to flame.

What Can You Control?

In psychology, the concept of “locus of control” refers to what you believe you can control in the events happening around you. Your locus is “internal” if you believe that you can control the event, and it’s “external” if you believe other forces are responsible. Which of these you believe will lead to why you tend to blame yourself or others. In Dota, there’s an interplay of both of these internal and external dimensions, yet the habit is often to drift towards blaming others. Sometimes it’s often validated by the fact that Dota is a team game and it requires the success of others to accomplish a task, such as a gank. Blame, however, comes after the fact, and it’s rarely a productive approach. Maybe that player will remember your words and play better next game. The only constant, however, is you. You’re the one who will be playing with different people from game to game, and finding what you can control, and improving on how you can do that, produces more change than trying to change everything else.

Furion, Can You TP?

“Furion, Can you TP” was the repeated phrase by EternalEnvy bemoaning his teammate to help him with a gank. He said it over voice chat eight times, before pausing the game and asking again. I would commend Envy here, for being proactive, rather than reactive, in trying to lead his team. He saw the opportunity and put his team in a position to take advantage of it. It also gave his teammate an option. Does he even want to TP top? And does he understand what for? After a late reaction, Envy paused, and he asked “Do you want to lose?” That’s where the conducive conversation stopped.

A valid MMR climbing tactic is to incite your team to internally combust by all chatting, “easy mid.” The urge to scapegoat others is often the first step where team chemistry falls apart. First, it’s unproductive. Take a common hot topic, such as your mid player feeding, and find a more productive approach to the problem, especially one that involves the efforts of others rather than bashing your player for what may be inescapable faults. Is your mid player dying because it’s an unfavorable matchup? Stack the jungle and tell, don’t ask, your player to play safe, be patient, and catch up later. Is he the victim of ganks? Look at what yourself and your teammates can do to fix that. Dota is a team game, a fact often forgotten when it’s easy to point fingers at one person.

To be fair, individual mistakes do occur from time to time. It happens even to the best players. It’s better to learn from those mistakes and move on. The same goes for the teammates. What good would a flame or a sarcastic “Well Played!” from the chat wheel serve, other than being a dick?

The Chat Wheel

The chat wheel is one of the best innovations of Dota to efficiently communicate with others. Typing can be cumbersome and inefficient when trying to move your hero at the same time. Voice chat can be a conduit of emotions and it’s also a familiar avenue for condescending remarks. The chat wheel, however, is universal and just. Words from the chat wheel are automatically translated to everyone’s native language, and there’s no misinterpretation of “Buy a courier please.” (On the other hand, there’s also the chat wheel choice of “Can anyone upgrade the courier?”, which is like a passive aggressive post-it note that’s asking for someone other than yourself to do this, while expressing your dissatisfaction.)

The chat wheel is proactive. It commands with phrases such as “Pull creeps please” or “Get Back!” There’s no option that allows you to whine about how your teammates are feeding. There are needy phrases, often used after a death, such as “We need detection” or “We need wards.” But these words look ahead, rather than ones that look back to say “why didn’t you have dust?”

The chat wheel motivates and improves morale. It rewards teammates with compliments of “Well Played!” and “Nice.” It rallies your teammates with war cries of “Don’t Give Up!” And with phrases such as “My bad” or “I immediately regret my decision” it pre-empts blame in a way that tells your team that you understand what happened.

Though the chat wheel can’t issue complex orders, it’s an instructive tool on how to effectively communicate with others. Words in Dota need to have a strategic purpose instead of a vindictive one.

Why You Have To Be Mad?

“It’s only game” is a good reminder to have perspective when playing Dota. Dota 2 message tone mp3 That’s where useful chat wheel phrases such as “Relax” and “Game is hard” can help. Winning is fun and losing sucks, but you will lose. Losing is inexorable, despite our best efforts to have a 100% win rate on our records. There will be times where not everything falls into place, if by your fault or others. What we can control in the end is whether we can still have fun in the process.

DOTA 2 eSports – Betting on the Future

Defense of the Ancients (DOTA) 2 is a curious nugget. It is what we can rightfully describe as a benefactor of eSports. The sword-and-fantasy game long presaged the electronic sports apogee and the segment’s continuous development henceforth. Glitzy events have taken place in sold-out arenas around the globe, and viewership has mounted so much as to rival traditional networks in terms of advertisement revenues. Twitch has been a turning point in how electronic sports is perceived. Amid this vortex, a new phenomenon has been born, and today we examine eSports betting on DOTA 2.

In the following review of eSports Hearthstone, we will focus on groundwork eSports betting and tournaments:

  • Tournaments and prize pools – we will sketch out a detail overview of all past, ongoing and future tournaments currently in the loop and try to consolidate your knowledge about DOTA 2 eSports.
  • Types of bets on DOTA 2 – in this part of our review, we will discuss the most popular types of bets on DOTA 2 and will offer viable strategies when wagering on the outcome of matches and how to better spread your bets to guarantee maximum profit.

In passing, we will make sure you understand the importance of betting at a good eSports bookie as opposed to shabby and badly cobbled-together imposters.

We will pay some attention to the type of betting known as skin betting which has caused legal-headaches to many bookies and seen Valve firmly throw its weight in the matter.

Types of Bets at DOTA 2 Betting Websites

There are two main types of bets in DOTA 2. Real money bets are the ones that interest you, and we will focus on the various subtypes of such bets and then move on to share our insights. Skin betting used to be a huge part of all DOTA 2 betting and was slated to continue to forge ahead until Valve put the crack on the practice after concerns had been raised that such gambling abetted child gambling. Just to garner a notion of what the market stood at before it was hit in 2016, take a look at the following diagram.

Real Money Bets

As far as real money bets are concerned, there is a motley bunch of those to go around:

Match betting

This is the simplest and ubiquitous type of betting. It is fairly easy to follow through. In this type of DOTA 2 betting you pick a team and lay a wager for it, no strings attached. You will need to show some understanding of the game before placing an informed wager. Since this is the introduction of the types of bets available, we will point out again that bookies lose 90% of eSports bets. Meaning punters will have a field day turning a profit. Keep in mind, though that the only way to generate profit by betting on DOTA 2 is to actually keep yourself informed.

What drags eSports bookies purses down is their reluctance to dedicate specialists who can systematically and passionately analyze the market, whereas punters are already sworn aficionados of the game they are lavishing money on. Just remember that over $10,000,000 of IT7’s prize money came from crowdfunding.

Tournament betting

As the name suggests is the type of bet you place at the onset of an event. Again, we would recommend that you have had your fair amount of time spectating the game prior to plunging into this sort of chance taking.

Live betting

The International has reportedly fetched a hefty viewership base. Live betting is a great way to add an extra dimension to your betting game. It revs up the excitement n-fold. Still, in order to turn your live bets into profit you need to stay tuned. Luckily, bookies have introduced great tools mobile offerings of their desktop versions which pack the power of the website into your smartphone.

In addition, the appeal of eSports has largely been that they can be followed on the go, eliminating the bonds of the past.

Special bets

Those are quite self-explanatory. At the apex of betting around a big event, eSports bookies try to introduce some alternative DOTA 2 bets which may tilt the odds in their favor. Who will draw first blood or destroy an enemy’s tower are among the most popular.

Here the advantage may be again on the side of the punter because we will still maintain that a person who has spent time following the game recreationally is still way ahead of the bookies.

Skin Betting

Skin betting was slated to be a big thing and a greater generator of revenues for bettors and enthusiasts alike. However, a flurry of excitement around another game eventually spilled over to DOTA 2 and led to the rather premature cull of two of the world’s safest and, dare we say, coolest websites out there. One of those was DOTA2LOUNGE.

To the credit of DOTA2LOUNGE we ought to say, though, that the website tried to offset users by an ambitious self-funded program (a lot of people had their skins stuck amid the legal spat between Valve and those websites)

As to the status quo of skin betting today, it is outlawed. We suggest that you steer clear of bookies that offer money in exchange for skins as they will undoubtedly be operating under the radar, and given the US regulators’ eagerness, not for long.

We are edging to a logical closure of our eSports betting guide. Before we part, let us highlight several main points of our narrative:
