Dota2Lounge hit hard by Valve crackdown. Virtual bets no longer permitted

No more virtual item betting on Dota2Lounge
Dota2Lounge became an integral part of the Dota 2 landscape, but following Valve’s crackdown on virtual betting websites triggered by the infamous CS:GO Lotto scandal, we are seeing betting websites change their Terms of Service or just drop gambling outright.

D2L has a CSGO Lounge where you can gamble your skins on match outcomes, the same as Dota2Lounge, and with the current state of things it is clearly a very risky business to continue along with the same model. With this in mind on Tuesday D2L posted this on their Facebook page:

Today we are announcing that we are closing our virtual items betting functionality with immediate effect. https://t. co/U4FP0QVZA4

Prior to this Dota2Lounge had limited access to the betting functions for users in countries where esports betting is forbbiden. They also updated the terms of service asking all users to confirm they are above the age of 18 and that they use the services “solely and exclusively for the purpose of your genuine participating in the Games and not for any financial or other operations”. Dota2Lounge’s changes are an attempt to keep everything above board to avoid breaking the Steam Subscriber agreement (explained below).

Implications – What does it mean for us?
It means no more “ez bugattis” or “ez rares”. The website will now change from a betting website to a website about e-sports entertainment as stated. You can not gamble with your hats which shows Valve’s stance towards the issue and is a direct extension of their stance towards people using virtual items to gamble with real money regardless of whether you’re above the legal age or not.

When did this become an issue? The Main Cause: CS:GO Lotto among others
The CS:GO scandal, in short, was caused by the discovery that many CS:GO websites were advertising skins and betting to people under the legal gambling age. Two prominent CS:GO Youtubers Trevor “TmarTn” Martin and Tom “ProSyndicate” Cassell, were even sued after they were deemed to have actively promoted their gambling website CSGOLotto to minors.

However, they were not the only ones. James “PhantomL0rd” Varga, a high profile CS:GO streamer with 1.3 million followers on Twitch also had his channel shutdown for rigging bets. The purge was real and Valve took action to stamp out the underhand tactics used to cash in on in-game purchases and skins. The scandal which took place in July was easily the biggest to hit CS:GO since its inception, and the repercussions have even reached Dota 2.

When the truth was uncovered Valve came under fire from some people who claimed that Valve allowed underage gambling, and that they were to blame for enabling and supporting its existence. Valve issued cease and desist letters to 22 CS:GO betting websites as well as to Dota2Lounge, stating they were breaking the terms of the Steam Subscriber agreement by using Valve’s services for commercial use.

It is farm priorities.

#1 is your carry, he gets all the resources he calls for
#2 is your midlaner, he takes everything carry does not take
#3 offlaer, he usually gets significantly less than #1 and #2 but he usually does not scale as much with gold as the frst 2 so it does not hurt him as much
#4 secondary support or a jungler, gets whatever small amout of farming space is left, usually gets big support items such as mek/guardian grieves/pipe etc.
#5 primary support, he buys all wards, courier, smokes, dusts. Gets majority of his gold from kills/assists/global objectives

#6 sometimes joke name for solo support, when he gets literally nothing while spending all of his gold for the greater good of his team.

First there are certain heros who are classified to what role they can and will fill. That said, it depends on your team picks. I guess any hero can play any role. There are 5 in a team. There should be 3 carries position 1, 2,3. and 2 supports position 5,6. Now depending on what people pick determines who is what position.

Lets talk about carries position 1,2 and 3. Now click on your hero tab. At the bottom of your screen you will see the different roles. First click on the Carry word which makes it light up. there are three tabs to the carry role. When all 3 tabs are lit up you will notice only a few heros available. Those heros are the hardes carries in the game and you have one of those in your team it would be position 1. The reason it is a hard carry is 1) It needs the most farm in the game to see its full potential. Now if you unclick one box so only 2 are showing those are second hardest carries. If you only have 1 box lit then you will see the third position carries included in carry. Those heros might also be listed as a support.

So for example Bara and PA are both carries. PA is a position 1 and Bara is a postion 3. PA will not come on line until late game and Bara is going to be strong in the beginning. Late game Bara is going to be helping his team while PA has the chance to shine. In my opinion Bara gets many kills early game but if he is skilled will allow PA the kill come mid so she can have the coins for the so needed gear.

The support role and button is the same. The harder the support the less gold you need to survive. T

In a team where all knew this its easy to determine who is position 1-5. Sadly people pick CM, one of the hardest supports in the game and think they can carry the game. In the long run and for the most part CM can not take the thrown without a carry to help. This is where CM is not doing her job and maybe getting tons of kills but not warding. This is a determent to the team. CM can kill PA easy early game but she is paper late game compared to any carry.

These are my nab thoughts on how it should work but in random pub match do not expect anyone to follow this.

Others have now answered since i wrote this but I will still post 🙂

So, I heard in an interview, a profi player talking about his role in his team, he was saying his role is support 3,or 4, i don’t remember it clearly.
Can u guys tell me more about these team roles? Their attrbutes and responsabilities.
Thanks!

When people refer to their “position/role” and a number, that number represents what their farm priority is. 1 is a higher priority to let farm than 2, 2 higher than 3, and so on.

Position 1: Always is a hard carry, such as Anti-Mage, Medusa, or Spectre. Pos 1s have amazing late-game carry potential, but tend to struggle early. They should never have to buy Wards, Courier, Flying, or Dust, but they can if necessary. Position 1 carries always go to the Safelane.

Position 2: Usually a strong mid-late carry, such as Windranger. While they may not be able to out-carry a Position 1 late-late into the game, their early and mid-games are generally stronger. Position 2s should almost never have to buy support gear, but they should help with Dust if invisibility is a problem.

Position 3: AKA, the semi-carry, Position 3s tend not to be able to carry very well late into the game, but aren’t usually as vulnerable during laning phase. Some can even be quite deadly in the early game, such as Abaddon. Position 3s should help out with Wards if the supports are gold-starved. Position 3s tend to build items that are medium in price, like Mekansm.

Position 4: Pos 4 is basically the secondary support. They generally don’t get much farm, but they tend to get a bit more than Pos 5s do. Position 4s should buy Wards regularly as well as Dust and Smokes. They should also help the Pos 5s with dewarding. Position 4s also tend to be the roaming support, assisting with ganks, kills, sieges, etc.

Position 5: The primary support. Pos 5s will have almost no last-hits, even in an extremely long game. As a result, they tend to have very little gold, but use what they can get to buy Wards, Dust, Gems, Sentries, Smokes, and low-cost items like Glimmer Cape and Tranquil Boots. Pos 5s tend to have terrible KDRs, but they will almost always have a ton of assists.

DOTA 2 tips and tricks: A beginner’s gu > Max Downton | August 28, 2015 1:32 pm BST

10 tips for anyone starting out with DOTA 2

DOTA 2 can be an extremely daunting game for new people to get into. They see an enormous hero pool, hundreds of items and hear about a toxic community and are immediately put off.

“It’s too much to learn,” cried one of our friends, “What if I’m bad?” shouted another. We’ve had enough of questions like that so we’ve constructed a simple list of our top 10 tips for new players to DOTA 2.

1. Learn to listen

Not everyone in DOTA 2 is out to hurt you. These are just people who have invested a lot of time in the game and get frustrated when they lose. It could happen to anyone after all.

When you jump into your first online game be willing to learn; ask your team mates for advice, listen to their suggestions and you’ll slowly start to pick up the basics of engaging against another team of people online.

2. Pick an easy hero

There are over 100 heroes in DOTA 2 and not all of them are beginner friendly. You might think Invoker’s strange sexy hair makes him your perfect hero, but he isn’t. You might think Visage and his flying ghouls look like something out of your favourite book, but they aren’t. There are some heroes in DOTA 2 with an insanely high skill cap; allowing the best players to really showcase what they can do in competitive games.

Avoid these heroes like the plague; you’ll get frustrated, shout a lot and your parents will wonder what has happened to the polite child they raised.

A good starting hero would be something like Lich; he has a high movement speed, some great abilities to help your teammates and some high damage skills so you’re never out of the action.

3. The Fog is your friend

When you jump into a match on DOTA 2 you’ll notice a whole load of fog of war over the map. It obscures the whole other side of the map, much of the middle and even a large portion of your side.

In this fog you are invisible to the enemy team. You need to know where your opponents can see you and try your hardest to avoid it. Conversely you can find ways to reveal the fog of war on your enemy’s side, allowing you and your team to quickly kill of enemies who least expect it. Learn the fog.

4. Eat the tangos so you can stay in lane

At its core DOTA 2 is an extremely simple game. You kill things to amass gold and experience and, when you feel ready, smash down your enemy’s buildings until their big one in the base explodes.

Obviously during that process you’ll find a lot of random elements, but every game boils down to that. You need to maximise that gold and experience gain for yourself.

You can’t do this by running back to base whenever you take damage; buy yourself some tangos when you spawn and use them to eat trees to regenerate some health so you can stay in lane.

5. Develop thick skin

We won’t lie to you; people will say horrible things to you in DOTA 2. It doesn’t matter if you’re playing well, playing badly or playing the best game of DOTA 2 that anyone has ever seen. People will insult you in broken English, in languages you’ve never heard and even in perfect English as they insinuate things about your sexuality, personality and anything else that they can think of. It’s pretty trying at times; so don’t be afraid to mute and report people you find insulting or aggressive.

Don’t let them get you down though; keep doing your best and getting better.

6. Buy Wards

We talked a little bit before about how the map is covered in fog. Well, victory in games of DOTA 2 rely on being able to see and predict enemy movements. If you are in a space on the map where you are surrounded by fog you have very little idea of what, if anything, is coming for you.

You can, however, buy items called ‘Wards’ which provide vision in a fairly large radius around where you stick them down.

Learn where to place these in crucial locations and help your team to victory.

7. Don’t always play supports

There are certain categories that heroes fall into, far too many to list here, but they tend to be determined by how much gold they need to be effective.

As you gather gold you can buy items which make you more powerful; supports tend to be the heroes that require the least amount of gold to be useful in fights. This makes people think they are perfect for beginners; not always.

Some can be extremely difficult to play and, when you do require hold, many simply don’t have the tools to get it quickly.

Talk to your team and ask them what they think would suite your playing style.

8. Kill Roshan

Roshan is the large gentleman in the picture below. He’s always there, in his cave, chilling out and admiring the work that the ten of you are putting in around the map.

He’s not just there for decoration though; this guy is crucial.

When your team thinks they’re strong enough you can fight him and, should you win, he drops an item which grants one player on your team a second life. In the latter stages of games that second life on an important hero can be crucial.

Be careful though; not only is he strong, but the other team will be watching him closely.

9. Defend your base

DOTA 2 might sound extremely complex but at its core it is very simple; defend the giant glowing building in the middle of your base.

There are no exceptions.

The buildings in this game matter more than gathering a bit more gold or laying down an extra ward. If your base is under attack then you better hot foot it straight back to defend it; your team won’t appreciate any dawdling along the way either.

10. Prepare to lose. A lot.

You will not win every game of DOTA 2. Heck, you won’t even win 60 per cent of your games in DOTA 2. In fact most people tend to settle around a 48-52 per cent win ratio. You will have to learn to accept this.

Sometimes you’ll have a couple of naff team mates. Sometimes the other team will just be better. Just don’t get too disheartened when you lose and you’ll have a much better time of it.

By the same token, don’t get too high and mighty if you win – these streaks can come to an end extremely quickly.

Looking at the actual presence of 7.06’s notorious heroes

Necro, Lich, Veno and Viper—are these complained-about heroes actually as present as we think?

The Apostle of Decay cosmetic set for Necrophos.

It’s no secret that the 7.06 patch is becoming a bit stale—and with a stale meta comes a pile of complaints about heroes that players just can’t stop seeing. In this case, we’ve got a green meta, with versatile heroes such as Necrophos, Venomancer and Viper coming out of the woodwork. Plus, some have seen Lich pop up more after his powerful presence at The International.

But how do the rumors hold up against the numbers? Perhaps the statistics will lay to rest whether or not these heroes have actually seen more play—and the taste of victory.

We’ll be using DotaBuff to look at these stats, as they provide a pretty clear visualization of how pick rates climb and fall. (These stats are as of publication on October 6, 2017.)

Viper

Viper has been a common pick for new or inexperienced players for plenty of years, as his anti-last-hit passive and easy damage output aren’t too difficult to comprehend. His damage output also makes long teamfights painful for an enemy team who can’t pull it off quick.

Over the past year, he was the 39th most-picked hero—not too notable. However, just in this 7.06f alone, he climbed up to be the 16th most-picked hero today. His pick rate went up by a drastic 8.72 percent of games in the last 12 months, and 7.49 percent since the last six months alone. (Much of it seems to be at the start of 7.06, as the number drops to 3.82 percent in the last three months.)

Now he’s present in a cool 17.07 percent of games, despite approximately a 50.81 percent win rate. So maybe you’re not seeing things if you think this reptile is popping up quite a bit.

While squishy, Lich has a pretty strong support kit that can throw a curve-ball at any team. He can use his Frost Armor to keep his teammates alive just a bit longer in a teamfight, and Chain Frost is never taken lightly.

Looking at the stats of the last six months, it’s clear that Dota 2 pubs didn’t value this skillset, as he’s only been the 69th most popular pick in that time period. However, in the last three months, he’s gone up to 58th; today, he rests at a much hotter 49th place. In that time span, his pick rate went up from 5.52 percent to 8.16 percent of games.

In other words, despite his notoriety and increased pick rate, he’s not that common in pubs. His surprisingly low presence could be because he’s certainly difficult to stay alive with, making him not an ideal pick for those who lack expertise in positioning. Still, with a 53.90 percent win rate, it seems like some people are learning how to use him.

Venomancer

Venomancer, much like Viper, has plenty of chances to do some long-term hurt. Despite being a bit less tanky than Viper, his Plague Wards make for obnoxious laning situations, and his various venom attacks (hence the name, we guess?) make his presence in a teamfight simply obnoxious.

Over the past year, he’s been the 56th most popular pick, but he’s soared to a significant 22nd as of today. It’s likely due to his repeated presence at The International, including his increased presence as a versatile pick: a pusher, a teamfighter and a strong laner. He’s not a perfect pick with a 51.75 percent win rate, but done right, he can clearly bring a world of hurt.

Necrophos

Necrophos has always been pretty powerful in both competitive and pub meta. Dota 2 lich 6 8666688047 In every stage of the game, his Heartstopper Aura combined with his ult, Reaper’s Scythe, make him a powerful harass and lockdown hero.

So, it’s no surprise that he was the 14th most-picked hero over the year. Plus, his presence at The International certainly gave him a boost, as he’s now the fifth most-popular hero in Dota 2. As of three months ago, he’s appeared in 7.35 percent more pubs, at 23.82 percent total—and that’s a bit more than double last year’s percent at this time, 11.69 percent.

And he’s no joke, either: he has a 56.72 percent win rate at the moment, second only behind the intimidating carry Spectre, who has less than a third of the pick rate. Basically, until Icefrog makes his chilling touch, we’ll probably be seeing a lot more of him.

The heroes in Dota 2 are defined by the roles that they are suited to play as a combination of their attributes, abilities, and items, and the ways that these shape the game. Although the abilities of heroes may suit a variety of purposes and can be used in a variety of ways in different situations, roles nonetheless exist to define the playstyle a hero is expected to conform to, as well as the actions they are meant to perform within a game.

The attributes of heroes (their essential statistics and their basic combat ability) and the varying nature and effects of their abilities all serve to provide much distinction between heroes, giving them each tactical advantages and disadvantages at various locations, situations, and times within the game that have to be understood well for success. As strategic combat between two teams of five heroes with distinctly different abilities and strengths is the central conflict of Dota 2; players need to be well informed of their role within each team, as well as the roles of the enemy heroes. Even more importantly, players should keep in mind how their ability build and item build affects their heroes and fares against the ability and item builds of enemy heroes in the context of every single game so that they make sound decisions on the abilities and items that they choose to get.

Contents

Official roles

Roles are dictated by many factors, including: the physical stats of the hero, what they bring to the table with their abilities as well as the nature of their abilities, where they should be laned (or jungled), and the amount of gold and items they need to perform well.

Although the official classifications are fairly rigid, the reality is that multiple roles can be filled by every hero depending on the choices they make, although some choices are wiser than others.

Carry

Will become more useful later in the game if they gain a significant gold advantage.

Carries are the heroes that can obtain the greatest offensive power as the game progresses, the name so derived from the act being “carried” by a team into the late game; that is, to eventually bear the responsibility for ultimate victory. They tend to become extremely powerful later in the game relative to other heroes once they amass substantial levels and items. Once farmed, they are very good at killing opponents, though some carries such as Naga Siren tend to attain victory through their ability to destroy enemy structures rather than kill enemy heroes. Carries typically lack early game power, but must be powerful by the late game; thus, the items they carry are an essential part of their build. Most carries rely on right-clicking, using their inherent attack power (usually augmented by abilities) to overwhelm their enemies. Carries tend to have high base movement speed.

Although they are the powerhouses of the late game, they are relatively weak in the early game, as their abilities tend not to be very useful at low levels. Many “hard” carries, that is, carries that are extremely reliant on items to function (though benefit most from them) will need to farm almost incessantly prior to around 30-40 minutes into the game. They should not ever participate in early skirmishes unless they can assist without endangering themselves (for example, Spectre can use her Haunt ability to help her team’s damage without ever actually being in danger). This can and often does mean that their team is forced to progress through much of the game without their help, during which time a team’s semi-carry (usually the solo mid) will perform the role of carry, as the early to mid game is a semi-carries period of maximum relative power.

There are carries of all three primary attributes, although the hardest carries are almost entirely agility. Strength carries (such as Alchemist, Dragon Knight, Wraith King, and Lifestealer) typically rely on sustained damage and their own durability to carry, as well as some decent disables. Their weakness tends to be low armor (though there are some notable exceptions) and because they are almost invariably melee, they can often be kited easily (kiting being a process of staying too far away from an enemy for them to attack you; as if the enemy is being strung along like a kite). Agility carries (such as Luna, Faceless Void, and Phantom Assassin) tend to inflict substantial damage in rapid successions, and have very high limits where damage infliction is concerned. Agility carries tend to be ranged but many are melee. Their weakness tends to be an inability to do anything effectively except inflict damage – they generally have minimal utility and are quite fragile, though there are exceptions to both. Intelligence carries (such as Storm Spirit, Nature’s Prophet, and Outworld Devourer) usually rely on their abilities and active use of items to carry, but their physical damage is often respectable too. They are invariably ranged heroes owing to their frailty, but their powerful abilities mean that they are often difficult to kill. They tend to struggle against enemies with spell immunity.

Some carries with long-cooldown, teamfight-oriented ultimates, such as Naga Siren, Luna, and Outworld Devourer require constant team support all throughout the game, whereas other carries such as Phantom Assassin or Lifestealer are suited to tackling many enemies in succession and rely much less on their team (but suffer from a lack of AoE abilities). Essentially, while some carries are suited to solo encounters and ganks, others are most at home in a large clash.

Carries typically are relegated to a side lane early on with one or more support heroes to babysit them until they collect the necessary items to farm independently, while a select few carry heroes, most notably Shadow Fiend, can easily undertake a solo midlane role throughout the majority of the game. There are some cases where carries ended up in solo safe lane (Radiant Bottom, Dire Top) if the team opted to run an aggressive tri-lane at the suicide lane (Radiant Top, Dire Bottom).

A rule of carries is that the more farm a carry requires to be effective, the more power they can attain relative to other carries. The term “out-carrying” refers to one hero’s capability to carry harder than another – that is, to have more potential power to carry than another hero. Carries come in all shapes and sizes, and while some require little farm to begin carrying quite early in the game, they can (and usually will) be out-carried by a “harder” carry than themselves if that carry is given the chance to amass the gold and items they require.

6.86b – Short Breakdown & Analysis

6.86 had been out for only 4 days and Valve already made some slight adjustments, introducing 6.86b. We’ll go through these patch nottes little by little.

  • Enabled Doom, Faceless Void, Death Prophet, Lone Druid and Winter Wyvern in Captain’s Mode

Whenever a hero’s abilities are significantly changed, Icefrogtakes these heroes out of Captain’s Mode and re-introduces them after a bit of a revision. These heroes have been re-introduced without almost any changes to their new abilities and also with only a few days of playtesting.

Yes, if we look at their pub winrates so far, Doom fields the highest winrate of almost 46%. The rest are just below that. Except for Lone Druid, these winrates have dropped by roughly 5% per hero from the old patch. That may not sound like much, but, alongside Riki, they are at the bottom of this week’s Trends in winrates, even below Huskar, who was deemed nerfed to death. ooking at just these raw numbers, one might think they have been balanced out a bit, or that they are no threat to the competitive scene.

However, these drops in winrates are completely expected. New heroes, new abilities and new items will always have to be experimented with, resulting in bad performances. People will either try to apply the old playstyle to the hero, or tinker around with new item builds, possibly even ways to lane the hero. It’s usually when decorated (pro-)players have found the seemingly one and only solution to a hero, that others will start adapting that way to play him. Afterwards, that playstyle will usually be improved upon by others until it becomes the so called meta for the hero.

That said, having these heroes exposed to the pro scene will force players to come up with playstyles even quicker. Pro players now have to actively wrap their heads around how these heroes work in a short amount of time and try to make sense of them, which in return will change how the pub scene perceives these heroes. Whether this is a good decision for the competitive scene though is up for debate.

  • Arcane Rune mana reduction reduced from 50 to 40%

Arcane Rune was the Double Damage Rune of your average spell caster. One could argue that the Regeneration Rune provided similar advantages for heroes like Zeus or Lina, but the Arcane Rune seemed designed to be a more specific fit. Has it had a huge impact just yet? Not yet. It seemed stronger on paper, but the fact is that even if you do get that Rune, you’ll need a specific scenario to make full use of it. The Rune can be very valuable when attempting to take stacks, something that has become much more tedious now for nukers.

Regardless, dropping it down to 40% seems like a reasonable approach, considering how useful it can be during teamfights. It seems like less of a “I have this Rune, let’s kill their safelaner” Rune, at least compared to an Invisibility or Haste Rune.

  • Spirit Siphon duration increased from 4 to 5 seconds

It depends on whether the new Death Prophet will be played around this spell or not, meaning if item builds will be built to synergize with the spell. Otherwise it seems like a minor change for now.

Arcane Orb Int steal increased from 0/1/2/3 to 1/2/3/4

Astral Imprisonment cooldown rescaled from 20/17/14/11 to 22/18/14/10

Outworld Devourer still has a 46% winrate, but is also only picked roughly 4% of the time right now. From playing around with the hero a bit, it seems like he’s still halfway stuck in his old build and playstyle, with a new ability/functionality added, which doesn’t seem to synergize too well with the rest of the hero’s design.

If you want to steal Intelligence, which used to make him so strong in his laning stage, you’ll need to skill Arcane Orb, a skill that was often ignored until level 9, maybe even 10. Improving Arcane Orb is okay, probably necessary, but it doesn’t change the fact that maxing Astral Imprisonment early on is strictly better, despite being nerfed on early levels now. Thus, you would not steal any intelligence early on.

Usually you could say that a value point in Arcane Orb would be helpful, to steal intelligence and harass the opponent. But 100 Mana per hit seems quite excessive unless you max it.

Cloak and Dagger backstab damage multiplier increased from 0.4/0.6/0.8/1.0 to 0.5/0.75/1.0/1.25

Tricks of the Trade now only affects heroes

Tricks of the Trade AoE increased from 450 to 475

Tricks of the Trade cooldown rescaled from 90/80/70 to 70

Let’s focus on Tricks of the Trade for now. The spell was quite similar to Ember Spirit’s Sleight of Fist, thus quite scary.

In fact, it was even stronger as you would attack more than just once. Item builds started adjusting to that and you’d see Battle Fury picked up on him, building Riki quite similar to Ember Spirit.

Valve has now intervened and the ulti only works on heroes now. A huge nerf, but a logical one, especially considering the cooldown reduction to a steady 70 seconds.

The Cloak and Dagger backstab buff also makes sense, given his Agi growth nerf in 6.86. It also puts Riki’s backstab damage multiplier back to where it was before.

The AoE change is negligible, still a buff of course.

Time Dilation slow rescaled from 4/6/8/10 to 7/8/9/10%

Time Dilation duration rescaled from 6/7/8/9 to 5.5/7/8.5/10 seconds

Depending on the match-up, Time Dilation could be maxed first, despite Time Walk scaling really well. Generally, you’d want the cooldown of Time Dilation to be rather low, but now that the slow is stronger on early levels, it’s justifiable to max Time Walk first, as Time Dilation now scales worse.

  • Meat Hook Scepter damage reduced from 175/275/375/475 to 180/270/360/450

Everybody’s darling. Pudge has become incredibly strong due to 6.86. Aether Lens is the go to item for Pudge these days – in fact he’s the uncontested number 1 hero to pick it up. It combines everything the hero would want, mana, health regen, magic resistance and the extension on pudge-meat-hook-5075] is just the cherry on top, with a little bit of whip cream.

His new Aghanim’s Scepter upgrade reduces his Hook cooldown down to 4 seconds – which may have seemed clowny at first, but is incredibly strong. Farming up these items does not seem like big of an issue these days. So it was only logical to see Pudge increasing his 6.85 winrate from just above 50% to now 52% in 6.86 – and that with an 8% pickrate increase!

Is this nerf enough to make him less of a pain? Certainly not. 25 damage is rather negligible and hooking somebody out of position is a bigger deal than the damage Meat Hook provides.

Conclusion

6.86b came out sooner than expected for many. It may not be here to stay for long, as we could see 6.86c before New Year’s still, but it’s still surprising to see so many adjustments after a short time. The individual changes and nerfs seem to make sense for the most part (Pudge being the bigger exception here), but implementing these heroes into Captain’s Mode has caught many people off guard. It feels as if more testing needs to be done to make these hero work. As mentioned above though, pros will likely be forced to figure out these heroes much quicker and we’ll likely see some changes towards them soon – if they are warranted.

  1. General Conditions

1.1. WePlay! Dota 2 tournaments are governed by the following set of rules and regulations which apply to all participants in order to provide a fair and pleasant experience for all our users.

1.2. For violation of any of the clauses of the rules, the Referee reserves the right to issue a warning (verbal or written), a technical defeat, or a ban (the time is set by the Referee) based on the severity of the violation.

1.3. Users repeatedly receiving warnings might be penalized with a technical defeat or a ban for a certain period of time.

1.4. Google Chrome is the recommended browser to participate in the tournaments.

  1. Tournament Format

2.1. Participants compete in a Single Elimination bracket – a single loss results in elimination from the tournament.

2.2. Game Mode —1v1 Solo Mid

2.3. All participants must select the same hero which is specified on the lobby page.

2.4. All matches are played on a single map. (Best of 1).

2.5. Tournament draw is done randomly by the system.

3.1. The main communication channel for organizing matches is WePlay! Esports Discord where participants must be present during the tournament in order to avoid technical defeat in case of technical system failures.

3.2. You will receive an automatic invitation to the match lobby at the start of the tournament. If a player does not sit in a player slot in the lobby in 10 minutes, the player receives a technical defeat. Players are responsible for internet connection problems, client updates, or other technical difficulties that can stop them from showing up in time.

3.3. If your game lasts longer than 25 minutes, you need to pause and inform a Dota2 Admin on the WePlay! Esports Discord server. Otherwise, you may receive a technical defeat.

3.4. Both players must select the same hero which is specified on the lobby page (the hero icon will become gray after one player picks the hero, but the other player is able to make the same pick). Picking another hero even by accident results in a technical defeat.

3.5. Every player can pause the game up to 3 minutes. The total number of pauses cannot exceed three per match. A player can keep the game paused for a longer period of time with the consent of the opponent.

3.6. If one player unexpectedly disconnects from the game, the other player must keep the game paused for at least 5 minutes.

3.7. If the opponent pauses the game in order to play a game in another tournament, it is allowed to resume the game with the permission of a Dota 2 Admin. To do that, you need to provide an Admin on WePlay! Esports Discord server with enough evidence to support your claim.

3.8. Before resuming, the player who paused the game must make sure the other player is ready. The game can resume as soon as the opponent announces readiness.

3.9. The player who kills the opponent’s hero twice or destroy their tower is the winner of the game (suicides also count as kills).

3.10. A participant who refuses to play a game again requested by the chief Judge receives a technical defeat and loses any prizes won in the tournament.

  1. Allowed: Creeps, runes, jungle, Bottle, Infused Raindrop, shrines, and using Helm of the Dominator on creeps are all allowed.
  2. Prohibited:

5.1. It is forbidden to swear, humiliate, provoke, abuse and deceive participants as well as judges during a tournament by any means. For such violations, the player may receive a warning or technical defeat and lose any prizes won. To report such behaviors, you must provide screenshots.

5.2. Unpausing your opponent’s pause during the first 3 minutes, unpausing your own pause without notifying your opponent and his/her approval, and not pausing the game when your opponent’s client crashes are all prohibited. If any of these actions happen, the Referee can penalize the player in violation of the rule with a technical defeat. To file a complaint, you need to provide the Referee with screenshots proving your opponent has violated this rule.

5.3. Unsportsmanlike behavior is prohibited. Examples of such acts include but do not limit to sabotaging a match, manipulation of rules, exploitation of bugs, and verbal abuse.. Punishments range from a warning to total disqualification from the tournament.

5.4. A player’s name cannot include propaganda, racism, or any form of hatred towards representatives of a certain nationality.

5.5. A player’s avatar cannot contain violent images, pornographic material, propaganda, racism, or any form of hatred towards representatives of a certain nationality.

5.6. A player’s name cannot include a domain (for example: www. google. com or google. com). Such players will not be allowed to participate in WePlay! tournaments.

5.7. Every user can only have one account on WePlay! tournament platform. Duplicate account owners will be penalized.

6.1. All claims of violation of the rules are accepted for consideration within 10 minutes after the game. If there are no claims after the specified time, the result of the match can no longer be changed. It is highly recommended to keep screenshots of all complaints, violations, misbehaviours, and match results until the end of the tournament.

6.2. Technical defeats are issued only after a Judge approves.

6.3. All the above mentioned rules are situational and can be interpreted differently by the Judges for each game in order to make the best decision.

6.4. Any situation not covered in the rules will be handled by the tournament administration.

6.5. Any participant in a disputed or conflict situation is responsible for the accuracy of the information submitted.

6.6. Decisions of the Judges in any situation including those not described in these rules are final and not negotiable.

  1. Prize and Miscellaneous

7.1. Prizes are awarded to the accounts of players that win prizes on weplay. tv website.

7.2. In order for a prize to be awarded, the player winning the prize must have played at least a match in the tournament. Winning every match in a tournament by technical defeats does not make a participant eligible to receive a prize.

7.3 The tournament administration has the right to change and modify the rules at any time at its discretion .

7.4 You can leave us your feedback and suggestions regarding WePlay! tournaments and staff on our WePlay! Esports Discord server or by writing to our support at support@weplay. tv.

  • She appears to still have a very dim spark of life within herself, which is still bright enough to attract shades and other creatures in the realms of death that she visits. [6]
  • So frequent were her attempts to cross the veil of death that souls of those who have recently died, both remnant and whole, have clung to her in an attempt to be brought back with her. These attempts have resulted in them being turned into a rather grotesque dress. Whether or not it was against their will is unknown. [7][8]

One of my favourite features on the site is the ability to place buy order Bitskins, if you have the patience with placing buy order and waiting for them to go through it’s a fantastic way of getting cheap skins below it’s market value.

Bitskins accepts all the major payment options including Paypal, Bitcoin and Ethereum (to name a few)

Skinbaron

Skinbaron is one of the bigger marketplaces for virtual items (after the fall of OPskins) and they recently added a Dota 2 section where you can buy and sell items for cash money. Skinbaron is a German site and that’s why you’ll see all the currency in euro but apart from that the site is simple and fast to use. If you’re looking to sell your items Skinbaron is a great choice too.

Skinbaron accepts Paypal, Bitcoin, Paysafe and a few German payment options.

DotA 2 Trading Sites

If you prefer to trade Dota 2 items instead of whipping out your wallet, then the site below will be more of your taste. On these sites you’ll find other people looking to trade with Dota 2 skins and items. If you have any questions on how to use these sites you can ask them in the comment at the end of this guide, and I’ll do my best to answer them.

Dota 2 Outpost is a large trading site dealing with Dota 2 items, you’ll also find items from other Steam games being traded here, making it perfect if you’re looking to trade your CSGO items for Dota 2 skins for example. On Outpost you either search for the items you’re interested in and then look through other people’s listings, or you can create your own listings looking to buy or sell your items. There’s also a premium membership that gives you more listings and auto bump feature for your listings, the premium will cost you $1/month, but isn’t really necessary unless you’re planning to trade a lot on this platform.

Dota 2 Trade on Reddit is another active place for trading Dota 2 items. In my experience it’s mostly high tier and expensive items being traded on this subreddit, but it’s defiantly worth checking out considering it’s one of the biggest places to trade Dota 2 items. It’s also quite common that people ask for a price check on their items here, then other community members help and try to give a accurate price for the item in question, which is great for anyone that unsure how much their item is really worth.

Dota 2 Lounge has a similar layout that you’ll find on Dota 2 Outpost, here people can create their own listings asking to either buy or sell certain items or you can just search and see if someone is selling what you’re looking for. A word of caution though, when I used the site in the past I been added by quite a large amount of scammers, that being said you shouldn’t be afraid to use the site, just beware that there’s plenty of people that want to scam you on all the platforms mentioned in this guide.

Steam Community Dota 2 Trading Forums might not be the best place to find a good deal, considering all the lowball offers being posted over there constantly, but I believe it’s still worth mentioning just because the amount of people that actually uses the forums for trading in Dota 2, there’s pretty much a new thread being created every minute or so. I suggest you use the search function to find what you’re looking for, otherwise it’s a nightmare to find what you’re looking for.
