‘Dota 2’ Patch Notes 7.20: New Gameplay Update 7.20e Tweaks 34 Heroe

Dota 2 changed substantially in November, when Valve released gameplay update 7.20. The patch not only updated the map, but significantly altered deny mechanics (Denies no longer confer a 25 percent XP bonus) and adjusted the abilities of nearly 40 heroes. Patch 7.20 added new artifact items Yasha and Kaya; Kaya and Sange; Holy Locket and Crown and the Ring of Tarrasque. There’s a new armor formula (.052 x Armor)/(0.9 + .049 x Armor) and a new range for Kill Spree XP bonuses. Other changes tweaked out-of-gameplay interfaces, like the random character selection, which now ignores your 25 least-played heroes.

With all of the changes introduced to Dota 2 with gameplay update 7.20, it’s no wonder Valve has had so much tweaking to do since. Averaging at least an update a week, Valve has been massaging the numbers with iterative updates to the new 7.20 gameplay. The latest dropped on Sunday, with patch 7.20e, loaded with nerfs to some items and numerous minor tweaks to heroes.

How to Increase Dota 2 FPS

Dota 2 is one of the very few online video games which grants players access to completely downgrade the graphics. As a result, players playing on what the community considers “wooden PCs” can even play without any issues. However, there are cases where a huge chunk of the game’s active player base to face Dota 2 fps issues. Now, for a massively competitive video game like this, these issues can lead to some pretty drastic consequences.

Now, dealing with such issues can be quite easy and straightforward but since most people treat Dota 2 fps issues with lag, the problem continues to exist. This is because lag and fps are two very different things. they are linked to each but when it comes to fixing them, the workarounds are completely different.

Dota 2 Fps Issues

As a result, if you are looking to fix your Dota 2 fps issues, then we are here to help. With our technical scavenging the internet, in search of the very best fixes, we are here with a comprehensive guide for you. On the other hand, if Dota 2 lag is what you want to fix, we have you covered there as well. Check out Dota 2 lag guide here for more details on that issue.

So, without wasting any more time, check out Dota 2 fps issues guide below and lay waste to your troubles once and for all.

Dota 2 Fps Drops Fix

Firstly it is important to set up some startup commands that will enhance your in-game experience in Dota 2 and help deal with Dota 2 fps issues.

Be sure to add the following commands as well:

Some are just basic functions such as the “novid” command that removes the intro video of that bald guy who keeps looking back for no apparent reason. Try out all of these commands and see if they help you boost up fps in Dota 2.

Setting up AutoEXE file

Config files are a group of commands that run whenever you run the game or execute them manually. Though many of the config files are default ones, you can create your own files to set up various commands that can greatly help you get rid of Dota 2 fps issues.

It is, however, important to set them up correctly and save them at the correct locations.
The file should be set up on the following location.

Steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\cfg\

Now, create a file and name it autoexec. cfg

You can get the commands from over here .

The commands have been optimized to give you maximum performance settings in the game and to improve your latency and FPS problems in Dota 2.

Be sure to save the file where it has been mentioned above. Else, the config file would not execute every time you start up Dota 2.

Dota 2 Low Fps Fix

Now that the technical things have been done it is now time to set up your computer for maximum performance as well. Don’t worry it’s not something that big and will be covered with some basic points.

  • Go to the control panel of your graphics driver
  • Select the option that lets you manage 3D applications
  • Check if Dota 2 has been added to the list of applications. If not you can add it manually.
  • Now personalize Dota 2 and set the bar to maximum performance in the game.
  • Be sure to turn off Virtual Sync as this thing is your worst enemy if you are looking to improve latency and FPS in Dota 2

The above-mentioned steps are all basic and if done right can greatly assist in dealing with Dota 2 fps issues. However, there are also times when the issues you are facing are more dependent on lag and latency which is why you are facing fps drops in the game. If that is the case, we would like you to meet Kill Ping. It is a ping booster which helps players deal with such issues in Dota 2.

That is it for now. However, if you are still coming across Dota 2 fps issues in the game and are still looking for ways to fix it, then don’t lose heart. Give us details of the issue you are facing down below and we will do our best to help you with your troubles. Hopefully, a technical team will bring you the fix you have been waiting for, till then try out the workarounds mentioned above.

This may seem clear well of course DotA 2 is harder it known for being a Hardcore game

But if it really have you ever thought about it
(BTW this is not harder to learn this is harder to play)

I will go through what I think for no good reason you can read if you like

1. Farming: Well this one we should all know it harder to farm in DotA 2. Reasons for this not only can you farm your creeps but so can your opponent and you can farm your own creeps to stop his. In LoL terms like having 2 waves a creeps and fighting over them with a teammate the whole time laning. Harder is DotA 2.

2. Harassment or Poke. In DotA 2 it is really hard to harass or poke someone down without risk to yourself. Much of this has to do with the limited mana pool/low regen. So DotA 2 is harder you might think WRONG. Because of this there is much less Harassment in DotA 2 where in League spells will be spammed so you must avoid much more in Lane as you are farming. League is a Harder.
OR you can think of this this way easyer to do harder to deal with making the gamer Harder on the whole.

3. BRUST: Being 100 to 0 is much easyer to do in DotA 2 right. So you think DotA 2 be harder But it is not. Because the burst in League is less effective it makes it much more hard to get those kills you wanna get. In League you have to be smarter with it to now get counter engages or just stopped in your tracks by a good barrier or shield. You don’t want a 5v5 fight on an assassin in league if all your spells are on CD. LoL is Harder.

4. Timers. This one is a fun one. Dragon Timers, Buff Timers, Baron Timers. All that is basically nonexistent in DotA 2. Ok now I will explain Every timer in LoL is based on when you killed they creature this allows you to keep track on when it respond. Of course if you saw never saw it get taken out you do not know when it will respond in theory. Dragon and Baron do show in chat if you have vision is helpful. In DotA Roshan does have a timer like that but its random from 8 to 11 mins that weird. Everything else in DotA 2 is on a fixed timer Runes and creeps so there is no thinking about it. Clear winner LoL as Harder.

5. Map awareness. Both games have a mini map so equal. No I not saying that. LoL has more ward but they only last a limited amount of time DotA 2 has less was but wards last longer. LoL requires more map awareness cause LoL often has hidden in the jungle on top of that big creeps need to be watched more if you have no timer. LoL is harder but the skill is the same.

6. CC: Why is it 6 no reason. CC is bigger and more big and more powerful in DotA 2. CC is smaller less powerful and there are possible ways to get out of it in LoL. I would have to CC is hard in LoL.

7. Item Shop/Items: This one is vary important items create power power allows you to win. Here I do think LoL is harder. Once you leave your base your out there with whatever you have sure you could recall but then your opponent can take a turret a dragon or just fight an advantages fight. In DotA 2 you can get items via courier or even just a near by shop. League’s Use of the Item Shop is harder to do and item dependence well out in there fighting is important to keep track of your opponents and your current items.

8. Skill Timers. Barely a factor in DotA 2 cause you rarely spam skills. Harder in League.

9. Item Power: Harder in League because of more stats to track.

10. TeamPlay: That right nether games has an in solo queue. Harder in LoL cause it harder to carry solo and win 1v5 fights.

hexOr: ‘I never thought my channel would become as big as it is’

Hi hexOr! On behalf of the GosuGamers and Dota community, I would like to thank you for accepting the interview and congratulate you for winning the Goldenhall Dubai Dota 2 LAN. For those who do not know, can you introduce yourself?

Hello GGnet! For the people who don’t know me yet, I am a German Dota 2 player and also moviemaker.

Can you care to share your experience with us on the tournament which your team has won recently?

It was an amazing experience for us of course, especially being at Dubai for the first time, but also to be given the opportunity to play in a real gaming hall and on top of that winning the tournament. Therefore we did not regret to take the trip to Dubai and we are pretty happy about how everything turned out.

As your team has just competed and won your first LAN, how do you feel about your team? Do you have any set goals?

Well, currently we don’t have a stable 5-men lineup, but we are looking forward to create an all German Dota 2 team. As soon as our line-up is stable, we will of course be looking forward to participate in as many tournaments as we can. How much further it goes from there will depend on how we perform.

When creating your team, was it important for you to play with friends? Was that something that tore the old ICCup apart?

In my opinion it is normal that you prefer to play with your friends, but the main factor was the language problems. It is very hard to play with 4 people who speak a language you don’t understand, so it was more or less obvious that we would go separate ways in the future.

You are now called “The Avengers”. Is there any special meaning to it or is it just based off the movie?

The name was originally made for our mix-team for the tournament in Dubai. We decided to keep the name, because we actually liked it :). Concerning the meaning of it, it is basically based off the movie “The Avengers”.

Could you tell us about playing with PGG?

I guess it is better for both parts, if I don’t comment on that question :).

How would you rate the German scene, its players and its progression during the past months?

Well, in my opinion there was still no real progression during the past months, in my opinion it is still the same like it used to be – Germans need to take the game more serious in order to be successful, both online as well as international events.

Can you share with us your Gamescom experience (WCG Qualifier and SEE)?

It was fun, even though we only ended up being on 3rd place we enjoyed the time there, because it was a cool event, especially if you can play there with friends you’ve known for a very long time. It was also very interesting to talk to other people and also get to know each other better, e. g. Wagamama (at that time Infused).

Moving on to your video making/editing career. How time consuming is it?

“It is indeed very time consuming, but I like to do it besides my real job and Dota 2. Most of the times, it is hard to keep my channel active, but I am trying my best to provide some cool videos as much as possible to my loyal fans and of course also to everyone else who likes to watch my videos.

Can you share with us your experience from being a total beginner at movie making to becoming who you are today?

Honestly, I just started to simply cut my Pudge scenes together and I wouldn’t have thought that this channel would become as big as it is nowadays, so I am pretty happy with the result now, because like I said, it was not even my initial goal to become this big. It is definitely an experience that has affected my life. I’ve learned a lot, just by being criticized and learning from my mistakes, getting constant feedback from the community. Moreover, it also helps me with my real-life job, because I manage my social media platforms everyday which is also an important aspect I am confronted with in my company.

You mentioned constant feedback. How do you cope with criticism and haters?

Nowadays my feedback, likes etc, is about 95-99% positive, so to be honest I don’t care too much about haters, because there will always be haters 🙂 and constructive criticism is good, it is in my opinion not negative. However, I don’t get such a good feedback all the time, sometimes there are also videos which people don’t like. If some of them put constructive criticism in the comments, I might be able to improve the quality of the further videos, which is very important to provide the best quality all the time.

Blurpi has recently returned to the movie making scene. How would you describe yours and his editing style?

Let’s start with Blurpi. Blurpi is one of the best Moviemakers I ever worked with. He is very experienced and as far as I can remember he is also visiting a Motion Graphics >Luck Is No Excuse 2 , which was also time-consuming and a lot of work and with a lot of ideas, I rather edit my videos clean, so people can follow the actions better, without too many effects and camera spins.

You have been a movie maker ever since DotA: Allstars. Could you describe how movie making has changed with Dota 2?

Well to be honest, and I guess I am speaking for most of the moviemakers, Dota 2 still misses a “Simple Cam” to get smooth 360 degrees turnarounds which look very good, e. g. a slowmo Tide ultimate (camera flies 360 degrees around all the units), I don’t think that it is possible in Dota 2 to move the camera free, without any limits concerning the movements and angles, and that is pretty sad.

Would you ever consider doing something like helical did – making videos for a Dota 2 team (other than yours of course)?

Do you plan to continue your career as a Dota movie maker or move on to being a full-time professional gamer?

To be honest, I don’t want to lose my real life job and I also don’t want to just throw away my YouTube-Channel and everything, so I will stick to those 2 for 100%, which means that it won’t be possible for me to be a “full-time professional gamer”. However, that doesn’t mean that I will stop playing Dota 2 on a high level, because we are actually planning to get into the competitive Dota 2 scene with our German team, again.

What are your personal goals as a movie maker/proplayer?

As a Moviemaker: Doing more videos, becoming more known, reaching more of the Dota 2 community, satisfying my fans with better quality in future videos, maybe also getting a new partnership e. g. with a huge company
Proplayer: Getting back to the competitive scene with an all german Dota 2 team (AVENGERS).

You have probably reached a possible milestone on becoming more famous, seeing as you partnered up with Gamersbook. What can we expect from this partnership?

Yes! To be honest, this partnership is only a few days old, but it seems also good so far. We are talking a lot to each other about giveaways to the community and also videos in cooperation. Let’s see how well this goes in 2013! Personally, I’m looking forward to this :).

If you had to give advice to new movie makers, what would you tell them?

Try to learn from the best and fuck the rest!

Thank you for the interview, any shoutouts?

Thanks! Shoutouts to all my mates I ever played with in Dota 1 and also Dota 2, to all my loyal fans, friends and to the people who support me.

While eight of those squads have placed safely into the Main Event alongside the six direct invites, the four Wild Card teams still must face off in Seattle for the final two tournament spots, each one aiming to replicate CDEC’s amazing wildcard-to-finals run from last year’s tournament. With the Group Stage set to kick off in five short weeks, preparations are in full swing, and now that the qualifiers have concluded, all of the pieces are nearly in place.

Immortal Treasure II

Immortal Treasure II is now available, and includes items for Windranger, Undying, Riki, Morphling, Lich, Earthshaker, Mirana, and Invoker. All Battle Pass owners can find their unlocked treasure ready to open in the Armory. This treasure features escalating odds—each one you open increases your chances to receive a bonus rare Mirana item, a very rare golden version of the Riki item, or an ultra rare Invoker Immortal bundle, each with their own independent escalating odds chance. Level up your Battle Pass to unlock more treasures. 25% of all level sales will go directly to The International 2016 prize pool. Head over to the Battle Pass website for a preview of the custom spell effects contained in the new Immortal Treasure.

As another bonus for Battle Pass owners, we have also added new in-game Battle Predictions, which will allow in-client spectators of the Regional Qualifiers to make predictions based on in-game events. Correctly guess the number of Roshan kills, the hero with the highest net worth, which team will destroy the first barracks, and much more—the available predictions will differ each game. Make enough correct calls to earn up to three Achievements and their accompanying Battle Point rewards. Each correct prediction will be added to your overall tally and can be tracked in the Achievement tab until all three are completed.

For a chance at more Battle Points, click over to the Compendium section of your Battle Pass to predict which teams will win the four Regional Qualifiers and punch their tickets to Seattle. With the Open Qualifiers wrapping up on June 24, and the Regionals set to run June 25 – 28, make sure to get your predictions in before 7:00 p. m. PDT on June 24.

This update also includes added support for resizing the mouse cursor in the Options menu, a change to reduce hitching when watching replays, and some improvements to bot behavior. Additionally, the inaugural Battle Cup is almost here, and details on the beta tournament will be available soon.

The International Teams

The International 2016 Main Event is just seven weeks away, and we are pleased to announce the six teams that have received direct invites to compete in Seattle, as well as those that have the opportunity to battle through the Regional Qualifiers to earn a place in the biggest tournament of the year. Head over to the announcement website to see the directly-invited teams and the squads slated for Regional Qualifier action—which will run June 25 – 28. The top two teams from each region will earn invites to The International. Third-place finishers will also make the trip to Seattle for the Wild Card round, where they fight to secure one of the final two spots in the tournament.

To round out the Regional Qualifier pool, aspiring teams can once again enter into the Open Qualifiers for a chance to break into the professional scene and compete against the world’s best. Faceit (Americas, Europe, Southeast Asia) and Perfect World (China) are organizing the four Open regional tournaments running June 21 – 24, and the top two teams from each Open Qualifier will receive an invite to their respective Regional Qualifier. If you think you have what it takes to lane against the Dota elite, follow the links at the bottom of the announcement page to register your team.

Good luck to all participants. We look forward to welcoming the 18 teams to Seattle.

Additional information [ edit ]

  • Attack damage, attack speed, armor and health regeneration bonuses of multiple Armlets of Mordiggian do not stack.
  • One Armlet of Mordiggian grants the following:
    • While toggled off, grants a total of 5 health regeneration, 5 armor, 25 attack speed and 9 attack damage.
    • While toggled on, grants a total of 500 health, 9 armor, 25 attack speed and 40 (65 to strength heroes) attack damage.

Ability [ edit ]

When active, Unholy Strength grants +31 damage, +25 strength and +4 armor, but drains 54 health per second.

You cannot die from the health drain when Unholy Strength is activated, nor from the strength loss when Unholy Strength is deactivated.

  • Does not interrupt the user’s channeling spells upon toggling.
  • The attack damage bonus is granted instantly once toggled on, while the armor bonus is granted after the 0.6 seconds delay.
  • The strength is granted during the 0.6 seconds delay, 4.17 strength in 0.1 second intervals.
  • This strength bonus does not keep the current health percentage, but instead adds 20 health per strength to the current health pool.
    • Increases current health by a total of 500 once all the strength is gained.
    • This health bonus does not count as a heal, so it is unaffected by amplifications, but still does not bypass Ice Blast .
  • Drains 6 health in 0.11 second intervals, starting 0.11-second after toggled on.
  • Does not drain health while invulnerable. Health drain cannot bring the user’s health below 1. Does not toggle itself off when reaching 1 health.
  • When toggling off, all bonuses are lost instantly. The strength loss works like the gain, and only affects the maximum health.
    • However, also like upon toggling on, the user loses 20 health per strength, instantly losing up to 500 of current health.
    • This health loss is not lethal either, and cannot drop the user’s health below 1.
  • Unholy Strength does not persist through the user’s death. If it was active upon death, the user respawns with it deactivated.
  • Multiple instances of Unholy Strength do not stack.
    • If multiple Armlets are toggled on, turning off any Armlet removes the Unholy Strength buff.
  • Assuming no other factors, it takes 10.2 seconds for the health cost to overcome the bonus health on the active.
  • If a unit is affected by Doom when it gains the active armlet buff (for example, by dropping it and picking it up), their current health will retain the same percentage, instead of being increased by 500 over 0.6 seconds. In this way, while doomed, the +25 str bonus operates in the same manner as conventional strength and health gain.

Biography [ edit ]

Born in Lviv, Ukraine, Dendi got an early start with competitive gaming in net cafes when his elder brother married, moved out and took the family’s PC with him. Dabbling with Counter-Strike first, he soon found Warcraft 3 where he played in local tournaments and built a love for the competition and a thirst to be the best. Though he was quite successful in Warcraft 3 and even won a few local championships in Lviv, he knew he had found his calling when he stumbled upon DotA. He picked up the game quickly and played it almost exclusively over the next few months.

Beginning with learning only supports, he practiced heavily and was quickly vouched to the IHCS1 league and soon created his own team for tournaments in Lviv. After he led his team to a championship in Kiev, he was drafted by a team called “Wolker. Gaming” and began his professional career at 17.

DotA [ edit ]

Dendi started playing professionally with WG in 2006. [1] He was a part of the Ukrainian squad that finished third in MYM Prime Nations the same year. Only a few months later WG made it to the grand final of one of the most prestigious tournaments at the time; MYM Prime Defending. [2] When Kingsurf. international merged with WG the next year he became a full-time member of Ks. int. [1] In late 2008 he joined DTS, only to return to Ks. int in March 2009. [3] Three months later though, Dendi returned to DTS. [4] The team would end up finishing 2nd at ESWC 2010. At the end of 2010, Dendi and DTS finished 3rd at the prestigious WDC 2010. [5] Dendi joined Natus Vincere at the end of 2010. [6]

Dota 2 [ edit ]

Dendi started his Dota 2 career with Na’Vi, who quickly established themselves as one of the best teams in the world by winning The International 2011. Na’Vi continued to dominate and won many tournaments in the years 2011, 2012 and 2013. Dendi was the center of Na’Vi’s consistent stable and skilled rosters, with his performance greatly contributing to their success.

The Natus Vincere Dota 2 team achieved significant success with Dendi as their midlaner during the first few years of the game; they finished as the runners-up for both The International 2012 and The International 2013, losing out to Invictus Gaming and Alliance, respectively. 2013 would mark the last year of Na’Vi and Dendi’s dominance in the Dota 2 scene, as they only recorded two LAN victories since January 2014. The International 2014 saw Na’Vi and Dendi finishing the tournament outside of the top 2 for the first time and the following two Internationals, TI 5 and TI 6, they would finish in last place. The results would deteriorate further, as they would fail to even qualify for The International 2017, they failed to advance out of the group stage of the regional qualifiers. This marked the first year of The International tournaments without Dendi attending as a player. The 2017/18 season started of promising for Dendi and Na’Vi, who dominated the CIS scene in the early months, crowning their improving results with their second LAN victory since 2014. However, the second half of the season saw the roster break apart and finally the team would fail to even reach the regional qualifiers for The International 2018, after losing in the open qualifier.

Four years of roster instability and poor results finally took their toll on the reputation of the Na’Vi organization and on Dendi’s status as a legendary player and a top tier midlaner. After 8 years playing mid on Na’Vi, Dendi was finally removed from the active roster in September 2018. However, Dendi vowed to continue playing professionally. After a brief stint on Tigers, Dendi joined The Pango.

Beastmaster Build

Art by Asahisuperdry

The Beastmaster or Hunter is a Diablo 2 Druid build that invests points on the summoning skill tree and relies only on the summoned minions.

The greatest disadvantage of the Hunter Druid is the presence of physical immune monsters at the higher difficulties of the game. The minions can only deal physical damage, so the Beastmaster uses a Bow or a Ranged weapon of a different element in order to assist his minions and deal additional damage.

Beastmaster Build Skills

The build invests 20 points in the primary skills below:

  • Summon Spirit Wolf: This skill serves as a synergy to the Dire Wolves, that you will have active most of the time.
  • Summon Dire Wolf: This skill is more powerful than the Spirit Wolves. If you max out this skill and its synergy, your wolves can deal high damage and have good sustainability as well.
  • Summon Grizzly: This is your main source of damage. When you max out your bear along with its synergies, it is able not only to deal high amounts of damage but also have a very high Health pool. In addition, it synergizes with the Spirit and Dire Wolves.
  • Oak Sage or Heart of Wolverine: it’s not worth to max out both of these skills. Both are very helpful, so it’s better to choose one and invest 20 points in it.
  • Poison Creeper: This is the best option among your vines summons. Its damage output isn’t great, but it’s useful because it prevents the enemies from healing.

Beastmaster Build Equipment

The majority of the Hunter Druid use bows with magic/elemental damage in order to deal with physical immune enemies.

Some popular choices are the following weapons:

  • Kuko Shakaku: It provides Pierce and Explosive Arrows effects for elemental splash damage.
  • Witchwild String: It offers Magic Damage, the Deadly Strike effect and a chance to cast Amplify Damage.

Some other helpful bonuses that can boost your build are items with the effects:

  • Increased Attack Speed
  • Knockback: It ensures that you remain far from dangerous enemies.
  • Pierce: It’s useful for increasing the number of enemies hit. Also, it has a great advantage of increasing the chance to cast Amplify Damage of Witchwild String.
  • Resistances: They are less important considering your distance from the front line. However, they are always helpful for fighting Bosses such as Diablo and Baal that deal Area of Effect elemental damage.

Beastmaster Build Stats

Strength: You should have enough strength in order to equip your desired items.

Dexterity: Because this type of Druid fights from a distance, it can afford to spend more points on this attribute and less in Vitality. Some players spend 3 points to Dexterity for every 2 points spent on Vitality. If you like a more safe set up, it’s decent to invest only as many points you need to equip your best gear.

Vitality: Invest all the remaining points in this attribute.

Energy: Keep your Energy at the base value as you will need mana only for summoning your minions.
