Console Commands

Console Commands are options accessible via the Developer Console. The dev console allows the user to create an advanced configuration of game settings, using options not listed within the game’s settings menu.

Commands that are listed as cheats will not work within the normal game. Cheat commands will only work in custom lobbies with cheats enabled. For a list of cheats, see here.

How to use Console Commands [ edit ]

Commands may be typed directly in the developer console to activate the setting, however it is recommended to create an autoexec. cfg file. The file will automatically run the listed commands when a match starts so they will not have to be manually typed every time.

Steps to create an autoexec. cfg file:

1. Create a text editable file using Notepad or similar software
2. Type in the desired commands per line, including the desired values for variables
3. Save as autoexec. cfg and make sure it is. cfg and not a. Dota 2 status command txt file or any other file extension
4. Place the file in the \cfg folder found in your install directory, usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\game\dota\cfg

Proper Syntax [ edit ]

When writing a console command, it will normally consist of “blocks” separated by spaces.

Here is an example of a command with each block highlighted for visibility. Block 1 = blue , block 2 = red , and block 3 = green .

bind q “dota_ability_execute 0”

Any command with a third block must encase that block within quotation marks. Placing quotation marks around other blocks may cause errors in which the command will not work.
Code containing only two blocks does not require any quotations.

For an advanced command using incrementvar the proper syntax is as follows:

bind c “incrementvar dota_player_units_auto_attack_mode 1 2 1”

The three numbers are min, max, and delta. Dota 2 status command In the example 1 2 1 the minimum value is 1, the maximum is 2, and the increment is 1. This effectively acts as a toggle, increasing the value by 1 to switch between 1 and 2.
If the values were 0 2 1 instead, it would toggle between three states with each press. Starting at 0, then increasing to 1, then 2, and then looping back to 0.
If the delta was set to 2 instead, 0 2 2 , it would switch from 0 to 2 with each press because the delta would increase 0 by 2 to equal 2.

Adding // in front of a line of code will make the autoexec. cfg ignore that line for input. This allows you to write notes without causing errors.

You can create up to 5 Dire heroes with this command, and up to 22 heroes in total.
The prefixes behind the defining hero/unit names can be left out like in the given examples.
The hero names can also be truncated. -item -item item_blink dota_create_item Gives the specified item.

Warning: Do not use uppercase. Give it a try to see what happens. -givebots -givebots item_blink dota_bot_give_item Give all bots the specified item.

List: See above. -ping -ping dota_ping Displays ping time with server along with the packet loss information.
This command can be used in a non-cheat game, too. -spawnrune -spawnrune dota_spawn_rune Spawns an intermediate rune.
Spawn spot and/or the rune type cannot be manipulated.

The OG Dota 2 roster that’s set to play in the Open Qualifiers in Europe for The International 2018 is now complete with the return of Anathan ‘ana Pham and the pub star Topias ‘Topson‘ Taavitsainen.

OG were the first to make the announcement via Facebook.

The OG Dota 2 Roster Is Now Set

With co-founder Tal ‘Fly‘ Aizik and Gustav ‘s4‘ Magnusson now halfway across the world with Evil Geniuses, the OG Dota 2 roster had some serious holes to fill. The former, after all, has served as the team’s captain since its inception. Meanwhile, the latter is a TI winner and widely regarded as one of the most talented players in all of Dota 2.

While we can’t exactly say for sure just how well the latest OG Dota 2 roster will turn out, it certainly looks good on paper.

Anathan ‘ana‘ Pham was part of the OG Dota 2 roster as their midlaner from 2016-2017. A former pub star brought in to replace Amer ‘Miracle-‘ Al-Barkawi, ana shone and carried his own weight during his first go-around with the team. He was instrumental in helping OG win the Boston Major and the Kiev Major. However, after OG “disappointed” with a Top 8 finish at The International 2017, OG decided to shake up the roster. But, instead of picking up a pub star, they instead went with Roman ‘Resolut1on‘ Fominok to replace ana. Dota 2 roster og kush

Apparently, though, OG are now going back to their roots by picking up the pub star Topson. Although he has previously played with teams such as SFT-esports and 5ANC, Topson is mostly an unknown commodity. But, many put him in high regard. He is a mechanically skilled mid player who is not one to shy away from experimenting with builds and actually succeeding with them. Case in point, he has found a lot of success running a particularly aggressive Quas-Wex build on Invoker.

Can OG Make it To The International 2018?

In theory, the pieces on the new OG Dota 2 roster fit very well.

For starters, this is not the first time Johan ‘N0tail‘ will play as a support. He may have won four Majors playing as a hard carry, but he experienced a lot of success playing as a support early in his career. This includes stints with known teams like Fnatic. EU, Cloud9, and Team Secret. Sébastien ‘7ckingMad‘ Debs is also no stranger to playing offlane. He has played the role in certain lineups this season after stepping in with the departure of Resolut1on.

With all three of ana, Topson, and 7ckingMad arguably versatile enough to switch roles depending on the lineup this OG Dota 2 roster has all the tools to succeed.

The new OG Dota 2 roster will make their debut next week at the Open Qualifiers where they will have to claw their way out to advance to the Regional Qualifiers and earn a shot at a spot at The International 2018.

Is there really any reason to commend someone with a text box? Ive gotten quite a few commends and havent ever noticed any comments on them or any way to view them.

Reports I can understand to have a text box, but considering Valve uses a bot to do it then I dont think its really the greatest thing.

I think the Reborn should have a screen to see your Commends/Reports with the following information:
Game information
Any comments
Who commended you
What they commended you for

And a similar one with reports:
Game information
Who reported you
Any reason they reported you for

This would honestly help a lot. If a new player gets commended/reported, or even an old one we have no idea why we got reported or commended so we have no idea what we did right or wrong.
This might even add in an embaressment factor and stop some people from false reporting knowing their name is now shown.

Do they matter? nah not really and its a shame. But who cares?? its not like anything mattes anyway, its but a videogame.. nothing more nothing less..

Besides.. Report system is automated, a mmr “rank” system for public matches, Russian servers in Sweden. this game has many things that does not matter much.

I just used my own as an example, it was in no way me trying to say “look I am good” I don’t know what the avg commendations are after as many games I’ve played nor do I care much.

As for the use of them my point was there is none other than the mmr “look at me” culture. but they don’t really do anything as per say. that was my point and thus not just answering the op but also telling him abit more.

As for why my profile is private, well try making a guess.. there is a very good reason for this. Not that I expect you to understand.

And as I said. ingame its not private (all can watch anyones dota profile) Dota buff often have false information and is not a good source in general

Does Hearthstone Have Too Much RNG?

Random luck plays a role in all card games, and Hearthstone is no exception to this fact. However, as the expansions have progressed, RNG (Random Number Generator) has begun to have a larger impact on the game as a whole. Probably the best example of this is Piloted Shredder. The card is a 4 mana 4/3 that any class can use, and when it dies it summons a random 2 cost minion, from any class. There are 84 different minions with 2 mana cost that can appear, and they stretch from being as strong as the 4/4 Milhouse Manastorm to as useless as a minion who can’t attack, or as devastating as Doomsayer, a 0/7 minion that says at the start of your turn, destroy all minions. Getting something like that can completely sway the result of a game, and it is entirely luck based.

This sway is exactly what was seen in the recent Gieco hosted tournament One Nation of Gamers, in a semi-final match between Trump, a well-known North American player, and Tom60229, a Korean player. Trump had built himself a nice board and was looking well favoured to win and then his own Piloted Shredder died and spawned a Doomsayer. Tom was given a free turn to draw cards, knowing that his opponent’s board was going to disappear the next turn, and Trump could do nothing but watch as his own minion destroyed everything he had worked for, costing him the match.

Another card that has a similar RNG based effect is Unstable Portal. It is a 2 mana spell that mages can cast, and it puts any random minion into your hand and reduces its mana cost by 3. Obviously this can either be really good or really bad, but the problem is that regardless of result, it is entirely luck based. This card saw play several times through Tom’s play in this tournament. He played Unstable Portal six times throughout the final best of seven series between him and Kolento – another well-known player – and of the six activations, five of the resulting cards were legendary minions, all of which were extremely useful. To put this in perspective, there are 440 minions in Hearthstone that can be fetched using Unstable Portal. 70 of those are legendary. That means there is a 16% chance of getting a legendary if you use one Portal. He got five out of his six, leaving him at well under a 1% chance. This left Tom with such a big advantage and Kolento such a big disadvantage, that Tom was able to take the series, winning $10, 000.

This display of incredible luck caused many spectators to be in an uproar. Trump, one of the victims of RNG in this case, put out a video stating that while he may have been unlucky, he has no issue with the state of RNG in Hearthstone, but this didn’t sway many of the fans who felt as if they had a good series stolen away from them by RNG. So where does this leave them? There has been talk of certain cards being banned from future tournaments, much like many cards are banned in physical card games such as Magic the Gathering. In fact, over a year ago one card, Leeroy Jenkins, was banned from several tournaments because it was believed to be simply too overpowered to create a positive playing atmosphere. Now many of the fans are clamouring to have RNG-free tournaments. It remains to be seen if this will actually end up happening.

The real question is, why is RNG suddenly such a huge issue? It has always existed in Hearthstone and all other card games. In fact, it is the very nature of the card games themselves. So why is it such a huge issue now? One Reddit user: TheDMWarrior sought to answer this question and put together many stats regarding RNG throughout the expansions (found here: http://teammetaminds. com/blog/lets-talk-rng). What they found was that the actual number of cards including elements of RNG has been decreasing recently, the amount of RNG involved in them has ramped up considerably. All of the random numbers in the original set were from a specific card pool or with clear possibilities visible. For example, Knife Juggler randomly hits a target, but it has to be a target in play on the opponent’s board. It is random, but with a very limited number of possibilities. Animal Companion creates one of three beasts. Random, but only on the 33% front. Most of the original cards had RNG like this. Then the newer cards have RNG that pulls from pools of 84 cards, like Shredder, or 440 cards, like Unstable Portal. At this point, these cards can no longer be played around, their RNG is so incredible that it feels less like predicting odds and playing intelligently and more like pure luck.

So what is the solution? Are we going to see tournaments with absurd RNG based cards banned? Is Blizzard going to retroactively change some of these cards? Or, far more likely, are we going to go forward with RNG in mind and be excited about incredibly lucky Unstable Portal legendary minions? Whatever happens, Hearthstone is certainly an exciting game, and regardless of RNG skilled and deserving players, Tom60229 included, will eventually come out on top.

In-game Guides [ edit ]

Guides (sometimes also called Hero Builds) are guides created by players, that can suggest items and highlight abilities to level. They can be created and shared by players either in-game or through the Hero Builds Editor.

“Hero Builds Editor” has been out of order, probably since 2014.

Changes [ edit ]

• Detailed talents now show up on the Guide panel – In the Loadout / Strategy and the In-Game viewer.

• Hero Guide Viewer now has sorting options for Your Guides and All Guides.
• Author Name and Last Updated Time has been added to the Guide Viewer.
• Hero Guide Viewer now also displays visual entries for Abilities and Talents.
• Tooltip has been added to the favorite star on the Guide Viewer.

• Fixed a couple of UI issues on the Guide Builder tool.

The Dota Auto Chess ranked seasons have an average duration of two months. Season 4 “Pumpkin” will end on December 30, 2019.

It is impossible to predict the exact time of the day, so the countdown below is just an approximation timed to the midnight of the indicated day.

Drodostudio – the developer of Auto Chess – announced that each game season will have a duration of two months.

At the end of each season, there is an off-season period during which all the games are considered unranked: you won’t be able to drop candies and earn/lose any rank.

Once the new season starts, all the players are rewarded with a prize in candies based on the rank achieved at the conclusion of the previous season. I will update this page with the rewards as soon as they are disclosed.

Season 4: Pumpkin

Duration: November 1st to December 30th, 2019.
