[PLEASE HELP. ]Dota 2 steam workshop – courier animation issue.

I’ve been looking all over the internet and trying to figure out this issue, just wondering if anyone who are working courier for dota 2 steam workshop has counter this problem?

1. The transition between courier idle and idle rare has a glitch, i’ve check in my maya file and found no issue with the loop animation. I also check the last pose and the first pose of both idle and idle rare, it does match perfectly.’
It happened on both of my ground and fly courier. PLEASE HELP.

2. The repeat animation of the fly courier when its dead and killed by the tower, it just repeat the first few more frames of the animation before it dies, is it common for any of you guys? PLEASE HELP. T_T

PLEASE!! Anyone can help me?

Hey,
I figured out the transition between the idle and the idle rare for both ground and flying courier is happening RANDOMLY.
The problem is , if your idle moves too much , the transition to the idle rare is gonna pop in when they blend in the idle rare. So if your idle is 80 frames long, they can blend in your idle rare ANYWHERE in those 80 frames.
I have the same issue cause my flying idle is kind of a pendulum. My Idle and my Idle Rare both start when the ”pendulum” is at the extreme left. If the game decide to start the idle rare in the middle of my Idle , he’s gonna pop from extreme right and blend up to extreme left.
Having ANYTHING random in animation is EXTREMELY hard to take into account to make sure there is no popping/blending issue.
I just wish you could select if you want the idle rare to play AFTER the actual idle animation , instead of RANDOMLY while the Idle is running.

I wish they would allow you to increase the transition time between idles. It’s set to 0.1 seconds right now, 0.5 for fading in the rare idle would go a long way.

Hello Faceless Rex guy !
That is also a great suggestion , giving us more control over the behavior of animations in the game.
Don’t know how hard that would be to implement though. Like setting the fading to (0.0 – 1.0) would really help.
But actually playing the rares after the idles would be helping a lot. Cause right now it force the idle to be really static , and the rare to be kinda limited in response, because you never know when its gonna pop in.
It should be a simple fix , and giving us the option to play after or randomly would be even better.

I would love to second this opinion.

Any control over the rare idles would be a great help. The blending frame is a great suggestion, or even a static transition set to a higher value.

Another solution would be to have pseudo random Rare idle that only occurred after the last frame of an Idle cycle. This would allow us to easily loop the rare and standard idle and shouldn’t really affect any in game couriers built off the old system.

Given the current system you have to choose between haven an interesting idle with no rare animation or having both a boring idle and a boring rare.

Hopefully we could get some attention to this. A longer transition period might be a quick and easy solution but the best case scenario would be the pseudo random occurrence.

The Idle_rare used to be triggered after the finished loop of an idle, not randomly like Tofo mentioned. Would be good that have that back and be able to do a nice blend in the animations.

Also the suggestion over possibility to change the transition would be welcome

Dota 2’s TI9 Group Stage Standings, Results, Surprises

Dota 2’s most famous tournament, The International, has reopened its doors for the 9th annual sequence in a row. Unlike previously, the International is hosted in on Chinese soil, more precisely in Shangai. During its early stages, 18 teams are divided into two groups to measure their power and prove who’s worth to step up onto the main stage.

During the group stage, everything is possible, and even the most potent teams could put themselves on the brink of extinction and fail to advance themselves to the main event. But, to conclude, each team in the two groups will have two play between each other for max two matches.

After the conclusion of the first day, the standings both favor but also disapprove some of the top-notch teams, as there have been some ups and downs for each one of them. For example, Team Liquid got schooled two times, which put them at the bottom three of the table, while no one anticipated Evil Geniuses’ appearance to be this weak too.

At this point in the group stage, it is easy to confirm that everything is possible, and like every previous TI, there has to be one underdog pushing through. Which one would that be, we shall wait and see.

Last year OG RedBull broke the Chinese curse by stealing the momentum against PSG LGD. Does this favor a Chinese Team to win this year’s TI9? Most likely, yes, but still, there are unanticipated surprises as it is still early to delve into confirmation.

Group Standings

As always, we will be covering the group standings and update them as the event progresses through. Feel free to join and find out the results at any given time.

OpenAI Five

Overview

OpenAI’s mission is to ensure that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity.

We use Dota as a testbed for general-purpose AI systems which start to capture the messiness and continuous nature of the real world, such as teamwork, long time horizons, and hidden information. Our Dota training system showed that current AI algorithms can learn long-term planning with large but achievable scale. The system is not specific to Dota, and we’ve also used it to control a robotic hand—a previously unsolved problem in robotics.

Defeat the world’s top professionals at 1v1

Achieved August 11, 2017, this milestone showed our Dota system had learned the mechanical rules of Dota at world-competitive levels in this 1-on-1—using one of the three lanes, one of the three game phases, typically lasting 10 rather than 45 minutes, a single hero, and no neutral creeps, Roshan, warding, or invisibility.

Defeat five of the world’s top professionals

OpenAI Five lost two games against top Dota 2 players at The International 2018 in Vancouver with lightly restricted 5v5 (18 heroes, no summons/illusions, multiple banned items).

Defeat the world’s top professional team

Achieved April 13, 2019—OpenAI Five is the first AI to beat the world champions in an esports game, having won two back-to-back games versus the world champion Dota 2 team, OG, at Finals.

OpenAI Arena—we scaled up OpenAI Five to play the Internet, whether as a competitor or teammate. This final test let us answer an important research question—to what extent OpenAI Five is exploitable or can otherwise be reliably beaten—and be potentially the largest-ever deployment of a highly-competent deep reinforcement learning agent that people can knowingly interact with.

How OpenAI Five Works

OpenAI Five is a team of five artificial neural networks, which you can think of as simulated “brains” which our team has designed to be well-shaped for learning Dota but start with no knowledge. OpenAI Five sees the world as a list of 20,000 numbers which encode the visible game state (limited to the information a human player is permitted to see), and chooses an action by emitting a list of 8 numbers. The OpenAI team writes code which maps between game state/actions and lists of numbers. Once trained, these neural networks are creatures of pure instinct—their neural networks implement memory but do not otherwise learn further. They play as a team, but we do not design special communication structures—only provide them with an incentive.

Training

OpenAI Five’s neural networks start out with random parameters, and uses our general-purpose training system, Rapid, to learn better parameters. Rapid has OpenAI Five play copies of itself, generating 180 years of gameplay data each day across tens of thousands of simultaneous games, consuming 128,000 CPU cores and 256 GPUs. At each game frame, Rapid computes a numeric reward which is positive when something good has happened (e. g. an allied hero gained experience) and negative when something bad has happened (e. g. an allied hero was killed). Rapid then applies our Proximal Policy Optimization algorithm to update the parameters of the neural network—making actions which occurred soon before positive reward more likely and those soon before negative reward less likely.

Takeaway

Just like humans don’t plan out their muscle movements while planning out their day, the community (OpenAI included) had expected long-term planning to require algorithms which handle short-term and long-term plans separately—perhaps via a hierarchical reinforcement learning breakthrough. But despite its very simple underlying algorithm, OpenAI Five learns professional-level strategies from scratch—no human data provided.

Mirena dota 2 jungle path

A beginner’s gu > by theScore Staff Mar 16 2017

Jungling in Dota is a difficult job, but when done properly, can be the difference between winning a game and losing one.

While a dedicated jungler is not required in many games, picking a jungler provides a number of benefits, including securing a large amount of farm and the ability to gank lanes to assist a struggling teammate.

In this guide, we’ll go over which heroes make for strong junglers, how to effectively farm neutral creeps, and what to do to counter the opponents’ jungle game.

Jungler Heroes

Junglers excel at efficiently farming neutral creeps at the beginning of the game. As a game progresses, other heroes become more than capable of taking down neutral creeps on their own, but the jungler is uniquely suited to clearing out neutral camps without much difficulty.

Broadly, junglers come in two varieties. They can either sustain themselves through the damage done by neutral creeps, or they can summon minions or convert neutral creeps to take damage in their stead. No matter what kind of jungler you pick, it is important to pick up items that increase health and mana regeneration, as they need to be able to stay in the fight for as long as possible without going back to base to ensure they farm effectively.

Junglers with a focus on survivability typically have one or more abilities that allow them to either heal through lifesteal, or are capable of dealing high amounts of damage in a short period of time. Ursa makes for a prime example with his Fury Swipes, which increase the amount of damage dealt with each consecutive attack. Lifestealer is another solid choice, as he can heal himself with Feast to remain in the jungle for far longer than other heroes.

Summoner heroes, on the other hand, excel at jungling because they don’t have to tank creeps’ damage in order to clear out camps. Enigma and Nature’s Prophet are great for their ability to summon more units, while Enchantress and Chen can convert the creeps to their side.

Compared to other junglers, summoners can take medium and large camps earlier. In general, these heroes should prioritize mana regeneration first so that they can remain in the jungle longer and sustain their high cost abilities.

Creep Stacking

Creep Stacking is essential to proper jungling. In short, creep stacking involves pulling away the creeps from a camp shortly before their respawn timer activates. If the creeps are outside of the camp’s spawn box, additional creeps will spawn, which you can subsequently kill. The more stacks on a camp, the more farm you get.

The recent 7.00 update changed the spawn timers for neutral camps, drastically changing how jungling works. Whereas the spawn time for camps used to be 0:30/1/2/3/4/etc., it is now 0:30/1/3/5/7/etc. The two minute time between spawns now means that speed is not as important as it once was. You now have enough time to clear out more camps and possibly execute a gank in between respawns.

To stack a camp, you must first either attack a neutral creep or walk close to their position, causing the creeps to chase after you for a short period of time. While the size of each camps spawn box varies, it is generally possible to pull the creeps at the 53 or 54 second mark to safely stack a camp.

While creep stacking is easy to pick up, there are other methods that can allow for even more efficient farming. A more advanced technique is creep pulling, which involves pulling a neutral camp into the path of incoming lane creeps. This is much harder to pull off, requiring careful timing, and is not recommended for beginners. Once it is mastered, however, you can use the lane creeps to take down harder neutral camps easily and without needing to worry about your survivability.

Counter-Jungling

While having a jungler on your team is important to secure farm, it’s just as essential to know how to properly shut one down and prevent the enemy from doing the same.

As mentioned earlier, neutral creeps will not spawn in a camp if there is another unit inside of it. This includes wards, which are invisible to the enemy team unless they are using a Gem of True Sight or are placing Sentry Wards to counter-ward their jungle. Placing a ward inside a neutral camp in the enemy jungle will lower their overall efficiency, though it is up to you whether you use Sentry Wards or Observer Wards for the job.

Observer Wards are great at providing sight range, but the limited amount your team has on hand combined with the fact that the most common spots to place them are often the most frequently de-warded means that they’re often best used in other locations. That said, placing Observer Wards in the enemy jungle is a reliable way to both prevent additional creeps from spawning as well as potentially allowing you to see where the enemy jungler is, which could be used to set up a gank.

On the other hand, Sentry Wards do not provide much vision, with their only other use being to de-ward enemy wards and detect invisible opponents. These are much more difficult to spot, and can be used to effectively shut down a neutral camp without much difficulty.

Question: What is the difference between an MSW and an LCSW?

Answer: In the field of social work, MSW stands for Master of Social Work, while LCSW stands for Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

While these two terms are often mentioned together and are related, they actually mean two completely different things. MSW refers to a degree program, while LCSW refers to a profession (and a professional license). In the majority of cases, to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), you must first earn an MSW.

Master of Social Work (MSW)

An MSW is a graduate degree program offered by colleges and universities in the United States. In order for a program to be called an MSW program, it must be accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). MSW programs are offered through a variety of different delivery methods including on-campus, hybrid, and online.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

An LCSW is a social worker who has been licensed by his or her state of residence to provide clinical social work services to patients. These include diagnosing and treating mental disorders (for example: anxiety and depression) and helping patients cope with life-changing events (for example: terminal illness or the loss of a family member). All clinical social workers in the United States must be licensed to treat patients. The main path to become an LCSW requires an MSW degree from a CSWE accredited program.

While a license is necessary to become an LCSW in all 50 states, not all social work professions require licensing. The licensing requirements for other types of social workers vary by state. For more information, check out our list of social work licenses by state page. Individuals who are interested in community-based social work, such as community organization and planning, may not be required to pursue professional licensing after completing their MSW degree.

Licensing Requirements for LCSWs

While all states require licensed clinical social workers to complete a CSWE-accredited MSW program*, specific requirements in terms of coursework and field education vary by state. For example, students who wish to pursue licensing in the State of New York must complete a minimum of 12 hours of clinical coursework for licensure. In California, the Board of Behavioral Sciences requires LCSW candidates to have completed classes in child abuse, substance abuse, spousal abuse, aging and long term care, and human sexuality, prior to taking the state’s mandatory licensing examination. Due to the variations in state regulations for clinical social worker licensure, we recommend that students who plan to pursue a career in clinical social work to research the specific requirements for LCSW licensure in their state of residence while they research online MSW programs.

For students who are interested in clinical social work, some schools offer online MSW programs with a clinical social work or mental health concentration. The curriculum in these programs is typically designed for students who wish to pursue a career in clinical social work. However, an online MSW program with an advanced generalist concentration may prepare students for clinical social work as well, depending on the curriculum of the program. Therefore, we recommend students to speak with an admission advisor or program administrator before applying to a program to ensure that the program aligns with his or her career goals and aspirations. Students may also be able to complete additional requirements post-graduation if they were not able to do so during their degree program. For more information, check out our page on online clinical social work programs.

The team stopped attending new events, KuroKy left to MYM, Puppey was constantly playing as a stand-in. Eventually Puppey and a few other skilled players created new team – Bens Friendly Buddies. Na`Vi – new home [ edit ]

Na`Vi’s roster would be: ArtStyle, Dendi, XBOCT, Puppey, and LighTofHeaveN. The reason for Puppey to leave GG. net was the lack of LAN event participation. In all this time GG. net didn’t attend a single LAN event, whereas any given CIS team attended at least 3 for the same time. Puppey’s first tournament under Na`Vi tag was the ICS#8 playoffs. In the winner bracket semi-final Na`vi met GG. net and stomped them in two quick games. Na`Vi took first place over MYM (2-0), taking their first win in the first online tournament with the new roster. On the 13th of August the team played in ASUS OPEN Summer 2011. It was their first LAN – and their first win. Next up would be The International. The first Dota 2 tournament – The International, with the unbelievable prizepool of $1.6 mil, was coming. Na`Vi got the betakeys required to play the game only 3 weeks before the tournament. (Puppey interview before The International)

With Na’vi [ edit ]

Puppey made his first steps into the Dota 2 competitive scene with Natus Vincere among the likes of Dendi and Artstyle, as they competed in The International 2011. They went undefeated throughout the whole tournament, winning the unprecedented $1,000,000 USD grand prize. They also won ESWC 2011 and took home $12,000 USD. [2] In both of these tournaments, he demonstrated fantastic prediction with Chen’s ability to send heroes back to base. Puppey became Natus Vincere’s Captain after Artstyle’s departure from the team in October 2011. After The International 2011 Puppey went on to captain Na’vi to a successful second place in both The International 2012 and The International 2013, and multiple other high place finishes. During the run-up to the The International 2014 it became clear that Na’vi wasn’t the dominant force it once was. They finished TI2014 in seventh place, their worst result in a TI.

He was then released from Na`Vi on August 20, 2014. [3] One week later, on August 27th, it was revealed that Puppey, along with Kuroky, Fly, BigDaddy, and s4, had formed Team Secret.

Team Secret [ edit ]

Hailed by many as a super team, Puppey joined Team Secret as their captain. After a rough start and some roster switches for the new super team they got their first LAN tournament win at the The Summit 3. Team Secret looked really dominant the months before The International 2015, but only managed to finish seventh.

After The International 2015 Team Secret split up, with only Puppey remaining. Puppey then formed a new team around himself. The new Secret was able to win the MLG World Finals against TI5 champions, Evil Geniuses as well as taking the Nanyang Dota Championship from Vici Gaming and taking runner-up at the Frankfurt Major. The team however, faltered at the end of the year with an early departure from the World Cyber Arena 2015. At early 2016, the team’s mediocre results marched on with a 5th-6th finish at Starladder and a 7th-8th finish at the MarsTV Dota League. The team, however, made a large resurgence by winning the Shanghai Major early into the year. After a last place finish at the Dota Pit, in a controversial decision, the team opted to kick both w33 and MiSeRy to welcome UNiVeRse and Arteezy.

The shuffle did not have the intended results as the team had a second-to-last placing at ESL One Manila and a last place finish at the Manila Major. After which, the team traded UNiVeRse for BuLba, and later received Aui 2000 as a coach. The team seemed to have recovered with a second place finish at Starladder, but they were quickly shot back down to the bottom with a last place finish at The International 2016.

The team later disbanded a second time with all members and coaches, save for Puppey and Pieliedie, leaving. Although there was a major setback, the team was able to rebound when it received Midone, Forev and MP from the post-International shuffle. The reformed team was able to take top 4 the MarsTV Dota League as well as 1st at the Faceit Invitational. In the end, though, the team failed to qualify for the Boston Major, and Forev later departed and was replaced by Khezu. Team Secret would later go on to take first at ROG MASTERS.

Can someone please explain when and why people do this? I would like to improve my support gameplay and have been practicing stacking with neutral creeps, but I’m not sure what would be the most ideal situation with regards to Ancient creeps.

I was in a game where another player (Medusa) and I (Sven) were dire-side and laned bottom. For quite a long time I was solo in the lane and Medusa was stacking and farming creep. What I don’t quite understand is instead of just farming the Ancient creeps, why was this player also stacking?

Stacking Jungle creeps, ESPECIALLY Ancients, can cause a HUUUGE BOOST for your carries.

Sven with his cleave can simply ult and kill all of them with 1-4 hits

WTF, you can’t nuke Ancients. It only works well when you have lots of physical DPS or a cleave.

Actually, you can, with some (physical, AOE non-target) nukes. Tide loves helping low level carries farm ancients.

Let me put it this way, when you farm a camp how would you like to farm it for twice the xp and gold in half the time?
Thats why you stack.

Stacking is not done by the Carry, its done by the supports.

The reason is this, more GPM.

If a carry comes to an ancient site that is not stacked, he will get to kill 3 creeps easy, no doubt and get that gold. But this is not an optimized method.

The carry will have to come to the ancient every minute to get the ancient gold, which is a waste of time.

Another factor is that if the Carry comes to farm around the minute mark, he easily misses the farm from one set of ancients as they wont spawn.

What a support does is, attack the ancient at X:53 minute mark and run out of the camp, the creeps will follow, and new creeps will spawn and be stacked. Continue this 4 times or so.
At this time, carry would be farming in lane and hopefully getting kills. When you notify the carry to farm the ancient after a 4 stack, the GPM that the Carry gets goes off the chart and could become a game changing move.

MSIEvoGT. TRIC vs Click N’ Search

MSIEvoGT entered the finals with a thirst for revenge and redemption. Fans will remember that Click N’ Search defeated MSIEvoGT 3-2 during the last leg’s finals and the latter had an early exit during the Tuguegarao’s Mayor’s Cup, and they proved too strong for Click N’ Search’s pushing line-up during the first game. xLucky and Julz duked it out on the mid but Julz proved to be the better farmer as his Lycan was way too fat having a medallion, BKB, treads and vlads in just 19 minutes. But despite Julz insane farm, Bayabas’ tide hunter sealed the deal with a very huge ravage during an engagement at the bottom that led to a GG call from MSIEvoGT.

Bayabas’ ravage that turned the tides around (Pun intended)

It was evident that pushing is not for Click N’ Search so they’ve switched to an AOE-burst damage based line-up. Julz played an Earthshaker mid but MSIEvoGT countered CnS’ line-up with Patty’s Chen for survivability and Doom for disrupting CnS’ combo. MSIEvoGT’s decision proved to be successful as they were able to grab the early lead and even burying CNS in terms of gold. After a fail Roshan attempt and a fail comeback-ish type of echoslam, CnS realized that MSI is already too much too handle. CnS tapped out once again.

You know you’re in deep trouble when your main carries are poorer that your enemy’s supports.

The third game showed what CnS needs. Play their own game. Click N’ Search opted for some rat dota while the other will try to give as much space needed with Viper, Naga Siren, Enigma core while MSIEvoGT still played their usual orthodox picks. Things are doing great for MSIEvoGT since Enigma was completely shut down by the global silence. But MSI’s problem emerged when, at 19 minutes, Naga Siren joined the clash with a full radiance. From then on, relentless pressure came from all over the place for MSIEvoGT until Julz’ Naga Siren is already too much to handle. MSIEvoGT called the GG and CNS was up on the board with 1.

The Rat is real!

Game 4 took the spotlight away from the more known players and focused on Polo. Polo on his signature Razor spearheaded the team fight/push-centric draft of Click N’ Search. Things are getting good on MSI’s side up until some bad decisions from them came into play. With their initiatior being picked off twice in a row and CNS’ heroes getting BKBs, the magic burst draft of MSIEvoGT was nullified and can’t do anything as soon as the two eye of the storm knocked on their doors. With the win, CNS tied the series 2-2.

Polo is reall a rider of the storm

Fifth game is a game that deserves to be called a “final”. Both teams have their orthodox line-up. Everything is in even grounds up until the final minutes of the game. MSI had the upper had during the first simultaneous push but they saved Lycan’s wolf form and decided to get back and defend. That’s where everything fell apart from them. CnS killed them one by one until their Templar Assassin is out for quite some time but Bayabas’ Nature’s Prophet saved them the game with a perfectly timed push with a big creep wave and necro. The base race ended wtih Bayabas winning the game for MSIEvoGT.

Base Race? No Problem
