I have been having a stutter issue in my game where it runs smoothly for about 10 seconds and then the game locks up and freezes for about 3 seconds

It is impossible to play like this i have tried uninstalling, setting certain launch options, verify integrity of game cache, nothing works. Very frustrating cant cs or play properly ):

So, your computer came out of suspend/hibernate and now the issue started?

restart computer, there is no other fix, icefrog can’t code, valve doesn’t care, and there’s no point in playing after 7.00

my computer is new i have had it for 2 months max it is an issue with the game

ok, i can tell what happen.

are you using laptop or desktop.

from your GHz on your spec, i can tell you overclock your computer.

if it isn’t overclock, then the the GHz for both should be the same number. e. g 2.2GHz @ 2.2GHz.

in other words, your computer overheats and it causes your computer to crash as a result.

if you using a laptop, kindly get an external cooling fan below your laptop to offset the overheating problem and also, make sure your power plan is set to “balance” and not “high performance”.

high performance power plan will cause your laptop to overheat much faster since it uses up your laptop battery faster.

if you using a desktop, make sure your CPU get lots of ventilation. (have a fan that is on the wall blowing at your CPU, don’t box in your CPU as well)

also kindly close all the programs before you play dota 2.

my game does not crash nor does my pc get hot (i am using a desktop)

then your CPU overheats like what i said.

just the CPU internal fan is not enough to prevent it from overheating.

computers overheating is a very common problem and it is the main issue of causing computers to have multiple problems.

you can’t depend on the CPU internal fan itself to prevent overheating from occuring.

this is what is written about overclocking your CPU.

Simply put, overclocking means setting your CPU and memory to run at speeds higher than their official speed grade. Almost all processors ship with a speed rating. For example, an Intel Core i7 860 runs at 2.80GHz out of the box. Overclocking a Core i7 860 means pushing it to a clock speed higher than 2.80GHz.

this is about overclocking GPU.

Overclocking a GPU will often yield a marked increase in performance in synthetic benchmarks, usually reflected in game performance. It is sometimes possible to see that a graphics card is being pushed beyond its limits before any permanent damage is done by observing on-screen artifacts.

this is the cons for overclocking your computer.

Parts will heat up much more than usual – this means the need for aftermarket CPU coolers, and higher fan speeds

The excess heat also makes products last a significantly less amount of time, depending on how much heat it outputs. Heat = less life span (the life of an overclocked CPU is about 5ish years, give or take)

Takes a long time to overclock, and it’s very finicky

Not all parts will overclock the same way. GPUs are different from CPUs

Each CPU or GPU overclocks differently (silicon lottery). One 4690K might get 4.7ghz at 1.3V while another gets only 4.5 or 4.4 Ghz at the same voltage

Overclocking can also make your PC unstable. Make sure to stress test for at least 24hrs to ensure stability.

here is the website that tells you the pros and cons of overclocking your computer.

from my opinion, if you got a high end computer, then there isn’t a need to overclock your computer since you can run most games without overclocking it.

Dota 2 Broodmother Gu >

Dota 2 Broodmother Guide by Shaella_

Hi. I’m Shaella, I play some Dota occasionally. I’ve been playing since WC3 dota, though i was terrible back in those days and am significantly less terrible now.

And with that lack of terribleness, I’ve decided I should write you guys a quick and dirty guide on how to play what i think is one of the most criminally misused and misunderstood heros in Dota. Dota 2 bgs 2014 chevy The spiderqueen herself, Broodmother.

The common misconception about Broodmother is that she’s all about spawning spiderlings and pushing. This is actually, in my opinion one of the worst ways to play Broodmother. Spiderlings are decent, but the spiderites they spawn are nothing more than 150 hp bags of gold that the other team is all too eager to collect.

To properly play broodmother, you have to change your thinking of the hero. Broodmother is not about pushing, taking towers is something ancillary to your goal. Broodmother is a hero all about creating pressure on the other team to deal with you. Ideally you want at least 2 heros to be forced to deal with your threat against the other team’s towers, this frees up the rest of your team to accomplish goals on the map with a numbers advantage.

This is why Broodmother is best in the offlane solo lane. She requires the solo experience to get her abilities online, and the offlane provides broodmother with access to a very important resource for success. The enemy’s jungle.

And its at this point that I’m going to move away from some of the mental theory on the proper way to play broodmother, to explaining how her abilities are used to supplement this mindset.

Broodmother’s Q is spawn spiderlings. A fairly simple spell, 75 damage per level, 10 second CD, and every time you kill someone, it spawns 1 spiderling per level you have in spawn spiderlings. The spiderlings have a poison bite, and when a target bitten by a spiderling dies, it spawns a very weak spiderite. spiderites are even squishier and are worth more gold, so you want to avoid spawning them.

This ability, to a broodmother who is focusing on pressure, has very little use outside of its nice 300 damage done. So whats the way a pressure focused broodmother uses this?

Well. Primarily its used to harass to drive enemies away, with occasional uses of it in 2 other ways.

The first is to rapidly spawn up an army to push a tower, you can easily spawn up 8 with one wave of enemy creeps, with each one being about equal to a melee creep in strength, they can push down a tower.

The second is to send these spiderlings into the enemy jungle to farm and block camps, increasing the amount of pressure the broodmother is outputting, I believe this is the FAR superior way to using spiderlings.

Many people when thinking of broodmother, think of spiderling surrounds. These are possible of course, but you’ll rarely find a good situation to pull one off, unless you have truly excellent micro (I once played against Idra, who was playing as broodmother, his surrounds were very impressive)

Primarily, use this ability to burst down targets, its damage is pretty significant, as is its range, and utilize any other spiderlings to farm the enemy jungle and increase your personal income.

Overall, the most important thing is – not – to feed spiderlings away, without getting something significant in return like a tower, they give away a lot of money, and there are many heros who can wipe out armies in a second with their abilities. Spawn them carefully and rarely, otherwise you will feed the enemy team enough gold to end you.

Her second ability is of course, her webs, which allow you to walk over – EVERYTHING-.

And I really do mean EVERYTHING, cogs, ice shards, trees, cliffs, the map itself, webs allow Broodmother pretty much unprecedented mobility, allowing you to escape many ganks you shouldn’t be able to, as well as granting you a nice movespeed bonus and health regen that is extremely powerful in the laning phase.

The third, and what I think is Broodmother’s REAL keynote ability, is Incapacitating bite.

This ability allows Broodmother to simply be the best duelist in the game, a 40% slow, and a 60% miss chance means that most rightclickers simply cannot stand against you, and squishy casters cannot escape from you because of the slow.

Combined with Broodmother’s ult, you can basically 1v1 anyone and they’re going to have a hard as heck time fighting back.

Its worth noting that this ability is an orb, so certain items like Desolator won’t do anything on brood.

Finally Brood’s ult, Insatiable hunger gives you HUGE damage, and massive lifesteal to back it up, and it synergizes heavily with Broodmother’s incapacitating bite.

Your starting items should be a stout, some tangos, and some gg branches to round the lane out. Consider upgrading the stout to a poor man’s shield if you’re under a lot of harass. If the enemy buys sentries, don’t be afraid to buy your own set(or ask a friendly support to) and wage the ward war back.

Web is the most important skill in lane, and you want to put a good number of early points in it for the additional regen.

My favored skill build is W>Q>W>E>W/Q>R, max Q, then W, then E, taking the ult when possible.

Broodmother’s core items are a set of power treads, a soul ring, and a manta style.

I believe this build is far superior to the classic ‘orchid’ build for several reasons

Manta makes you even harder to chase after, as you can use it to dispel dust, and the movespeed makes you harder to escape from.

The soul ring allows you to use any spell at will, as the regen from your webs is more than enough to sustain you in lane and throughout the game.

From this point, Broodmother has a lot of options, but I would focus on items like BKB, Butterfly, and Basher as these enhance Broodmother’s ability to fight 1v1, and force more heros to deal with you, thus creating space for your team.

AC is situationally excellent, Broodmother does benefit from the -5 armor and attackspeed a fair amount, but I believe a basher is better before it. Vlads is just outdated in my opinion as well, the aura does very little for spiderlings, (besides making them soak more tower shots), and the cost of it is very cheap, brood shouldn’t have any trouble getting money post laning phase.

I don’t have much more to say, if you’re interested and have a question comment below, and I’ll do my best to reply, I find that responding to questions is a better way of explaining things than just typing more of a wall of text than i already have.

Keep in mind that in Dota, all things are situational, there may be a game when going orchid>vlads may be the right build. There is no way I can provide a fully comprehensive guide explaining the correct item choice in every scenario. This is simply a general guide to helping you get into the right mindset to play brood, and items that complement that, it is not a bible.

VG. J Officially Revealed as the Second Direct Invitee for Dota 2 The Summit 7

Dota 2 Summit 7 will be the seventh edition of the Summit tournament organized by Beyond. The event will take place in Los Angeles, California from June 14 th to June 18 th , featuring a prize pool of $100,000. Teams that receive a direct invitation, together with those who earn their spots through qualifiers, will battle it out for their share of that prize pool.

Not that long ago, Beyond The Summit has announced that the first team that received the direct invitation is Virtus. pro. They will be coming to this tournament in order to defend the title that they won at the last year’s event. Since then, not many things have been officially confirmed about other teams or the format of the competition.

VG. J Officially Confirmed for The Summit 7

However, yesterday, Beyond The Summit announced that the second team that received the direct invitation is VG. J. Besides that, the organizers have stated that VG. J has confirmed their participation at this event. This leaves two more teams with direct invitations to be revealed.

The remaining spots at the Main Event of this tournament will be filled by the teams that go through the regional open and closed qualifiers. For some members of VG. J, namely Lu ‘Fenrir’ Chao and Xu ‘fy’ Linses, this will be the third time in their career that they will be participating in this tournament.

As we have said, with VG. J receiving the second invitation we are now aware of two teams that will certainly be featured at this year’s Beyond The Summit. In addition to these two invitees, another team has already secured their spot at the Main Event through the qualifiers, and that team is Clutch Gamers.

The SEA qualifiers for the Summit 7 have already been played and in the end, it was Clutch Gaming that secured their spot at the Main Event in Los Angeles. The remaining three spots at the Main Event will be filled with teams from American, Chinese, and European qualifiers. The organizers have also revealed the names of those teams that will be competing in the qualifiers for this tournament.

What Teams Will Be Fighting for Their Spot?

When it comes to the region of China, the qualifiers for the Summit 7 will feature Wings Gaming, iG, Newbee, Vici Gaming, iG. Vitality, CDEC, LGD, and LDG. FY. There are several strong teams competing for just a single spot in the event. Hence, Chinese qualifiers will be well worth of attention.

On the other hand, when it comes to the qualifiers for the region of Europe, they will feature Alliance, Na’Vi, The Greeks, Cloud9, B)ears, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and another team that has not been announced. These teams will be battling it out for the second spot at the Summit 7.

Looking at the names of the teams, this will be one of the most interesting qualifiers this season. The final qualifiers will be held in the American region, and the teams that will be playing there include compLexity, Team NP, SG-eSports, Onyx, Midas Club Elite, Infamous, and two other teams to be announced in the near future.

Difficulties [ edit ]

Bots come in 5 different difficulties (Passive, Easy, Normal, Hard, Unfair) [1] .

  • Passive bots will lane passively, and will not attack players, bot or human, except when they see an allied human player/other bot attack their enemies. They will not try to last hit nor deny, and sometimes will stick to the tower. Passive bots will never use their abilities/items. If an allied human player disconnects, a bot on the opposing team will return to the fountain and stop playing, until the player has returned.
  • Easy bots are different to passive bots, as they willingly attack other heroes and use abilities/items (with the exception of Phase Boots , Force Staff , and Orchid Malevolence ), but usually at a slow/delayed pace, and their last hit timing is not as accurate as on higher difficulties. Neither allied nor enemy Easy bots will deny creeps. Easy bots will generally not attempt to gank other lanes, and will only group up in small groups to push or defend. Easy bots will not attempt to “stun-lock” enemy humans/bots, nor will they try to interrupt channeling spells. Also, Easy bots are unable to detect whether a hero is an illusion or not.
  • Medium bots are almost >Meat Hook or Sacred Arrow ). If their Hero has a good spammable or harassing spell, like Viper or Death Prophet , they will repeatedly use sa >Summary [ edit ]

Na`Vi’s roster would be: ArtStyle, Dendi, XBOCT, Puppey, and LighTofHeaveN. The reason for Puppey to leave GG. net was the lack of LAN event participation. In all this time GG. net didn’t attend a single LAN event, whereas any given CIS team attended at least 3 for the same time. Puppey’s first tournament under Na`Vi tag was the ICS#8 playoffs. In the winner bracket semi-final Na`vi met GG. net and stomped them in two quick games. Na`Vi took first place over MYM (2-0), taking their first win in the first online tournament with the new roster. On the 13th of August the team played in ASUS OPEN Summer 2011. It was their first LAN – and their first win. Next up would be The International. The first Dota 2 tournament – The International, with the unbelievable prizepool of $1.6 mil, was coming. Na`Vi got the betakeys required to play the game only 3 weeks before the tournament. (Puppey interview before The International)

Dota 2 [ edit ]

With Na’vi [ edit ]

Puppey made his first steps into the Dota 2 competitive scene with Natus Vincere among the likes of Dendi and Artstyle, as they competed in The International 2011. They went undefeated throughout the whole tournament, winning the unprecedented $1,000,000 USD grand prize. They also won ESWC 2011 and took home $12,000 USD. [2] In both of these tournaments, he demonstrated fantastic prediction with Chen’s ability to send heroes back to base. Puppey became Natus Vincere’s Captain after Artstyle’s departure from the team in October 2011. After The International 2011 Puppey went on to captain Na’vi to a successful second place in both The International 2012 and The International 2013, and multiple other high place finishes. During the run-up to the The International 2014 it became clear that Na’vi wasn’t the dominant force it once was. They finished TI2014 in seventh place, their worst result in a TI.

He was then released from Na`Vi on August 20, 2014. [3] One week later, on August 27th, it was revealed that Puppey, along with Kuroky, Fly, BigDaddy, and s4, had formed Team Secret.

Team Secret [ edit ]

Hailed by many as a super team, Puppey joined Team Secret as their captain. After a rough start and some roster switches for the new super team they got their first LAN tournament win at the The Summit 3. Team Secret looked really dominant the months before The International 2015, but only managed to finish seventh.

After The International 2015 Team Secret split up, with only Puppey remaining. Puppey then formed a new team around himself. The new Secret was able to win the MLG World Finals against TI5 champions, Evil Geniuses as well as taking the Nanyang Dota Championship from Vici Gaming and taking runner-up at the Frankfurt Major. The team however, faltered at the end of the year with an early departure from the World Cyber Arena 2015. At early 2016, the team’s mediocre results marched on with a 5th-6th finish at Starladder and a 7th-8th finish at the MarsTV Dota League. The team, however, made a large resurgence by winning the Shanghai Major early into the year. After a last place finish at the Dota Pit, in a controversial decision, the team opted to kick both w33 and MiSeRy to welcome UNiVeRse and Arteezy.

The shuffle did not have the intended results as the team had a second-to-last placing at ESL One Manila and a last place finish at the Manila Major. After which, the team traded UNiVeRse for BuLba, and later received Aui 2000 as a coach. The team seemed to have recovered with a second place finish at Starladder, but they were quickly shot back down to the bottom with a last place finish at The International 2016.

The team later disbanded a second time with all members and coaches, save for Puppey and Pieliedie, leaving. Although there was a major setback, the team was able to rebound when it received Midone, Forev and MP from the post-International shuffle. The reformed team was able to take top 4 the MarsTV Dota League as well as 1st at the Faceit Invitational. In the end, though, the team failed to qualify for the Boston Major, and Forev later departed and was replaced by Khezu. Team Secret would later go on to take first at ROG MASTERS.

Who is Axe ?

1.Axe is an initiator, pusher and a carry. Not only that he can support the team well by taking all hits and killing off heroes when they reach a certain amount of hp.

2.Counter Helix: This ability should be max out first as Axe has a low amount of manapool and mana regen. Not only that your Berserkers Call(that is to be max after counter helix) will give you a large amount of chances to activate your counter helix which will greatly help you out in early gangfights and killing off soft heroes near towers.

Introductions to Abilities

-Forces everyone within 300 radius to physically attack you
-Gives you bonus armor points

Since it has only 10 second cooldown it can be use both offensively and defensively. You can use it to kill off wounded heroes with disabling abilities(i. e wraith king, lion).
You can use it to survive against some skills while going to the fountain(finger of death, laguna blade)as you can use it in sight of nukers and help a wounded teammate by forcing thier attacks on you.

-Allows you to spam heroes and allowing easy culling blade in early gameplay
-Gives Axe a bonus movement speed when cast on a player

It can be use to kill off heroes that are out of attacking range
It is usefull when you need to abandon your teamfight due to low health or any disadvantages

-Deals 100-205 damage around Axe
-Has -1 sec cooldown
-No need for mana and has a 20% chance when attacked

Since Beserkers call makes the opponents forcefully attack Axe there are more chances of counter helix and making it usefull in teamfights and taking down large number of creeps.
Hence, making this the most useful ability Axe has.

-Kills an enemy instanly if health is at 300/450/625 or less Hp
-When a kill is made by using this ability, Axe and all nearby allies will get bonus movement speed for 6 sec

It is one of the most useful ability in a team fight as it can kill durable heroes easily if they are within the threshold and goes through shallow grave

Pros and Cons of Axe

Pros:-
1.Has a high hp and hp regen
2.Has an ability to handle large amount of creeps(Counter Helix)
3.Has ability to kill off heroes when they reach a certain amount of hp or below

Cons:-
1.Has low manapool and manaregen
2.Abilities consume lot of mana
3.Some of his abilities cannot work when certain condition is received
4.Has an ability that can immediately go off by killing a simple creep or hero

Items

Early Items and Boots

Poor Man’s Shield and Infused teardrops can help you in surviving some attacks and nukes. Allow you to farm and kill heroes quickly

Tranquil Boots can help you with farming in both lane and in the jungle but does not give any attributes against heroes. While Power threads can help you greatly in terms of hero as it makes you more sturdy.

Soul Ring is also necessary when there are some long ranged heroes or heavy nukers as you will need to deal damage by using your battle hunger.

When using Axe you must mainly focus on making yourself sturdy and hard. Therefore using Vanguard or Hood of Defiance depending on the battle situation. I.e vanguard is useful when there are a lot of heavy hitters while hood of defiance is needed when there are lots of nukers and ability reliant heroes.

Black King Bar and Blademail is also necessary as it provides you spell immunity for a short time(which is useful in hero handling)and allows you to repel back all the damage you received(which is very useful as you will be sturdy and will have a lot of Hp.

Heart of tarrasque and Assault Cuirass give a lot of armor/hp bonus and it one of the most needed items of Axe alongside with Shiva’s Guard as it provides Armor and manaregen both which Axe needs.

You can buy Crimson Guard and Pipe of Insight if you have troubles on farming and killing on heroes as they provide you reduced damage taken and reduced magic damage taken.

Thank you for reading this guide and please leave out a like.(P. s The talents given are just for show not recommended for every battle)

Abilities [ edit ]

Takes control of one neutral, non-ancient target unit and sets its movement speed to 425 and max health to a minimum of 1500.

Dominated units with a max health of greater than 1500 retain their original max health. Dominated unit’s bounty is set to 200 gold.

  • Applies a basic dispel on the target which removes buffs and debuffs.
  • Dominating a creep while already having one dominated causes the previous dominated creep to die.
  • The number of max allowed units is bound to the player. Buying a new Helm of the Dominator does not allow dominating an additional unit.
    • This also goes for the Tempest Double ‘s copied Helm of the Dominator.
    • When an enemy steals the dominated creep (e. g. Enchant ), dominating a new creep does not cause the previous one to die.
    • When the item gets sold or destroyed, the dominated creep dies.
    • The death is not credited to anyone so that no one gets experience from it.
  • Sets the target’s movement speed to 425, regardless of its default movement speed.
  • Sets the target’s gold bounty to 200, regardless of its default bounty.
    • The target’s default gold bounty is not granted upon killing it, only the set value is. Its experience bounty is unchanged.
  • When the unit’s maximum health is below the minimum health threshold, its maximum and current health are increased by the difference.
    • This current health increase does not count as a heal. The unit has its health set to a value.
  • Does not restore the creep’s mana. Dota 2 helm of tarrasque miniature
  • Cannot dominate ancient creeps, Necronomicon summons, siege creeps and creep-heroes.
  • Non-hero units controlled by a player gain 30% attack damage and 7.5 health regen. Treats creep-heroes as creeps.
  • Considers base damage and primary attribute of affected units for the attack damage bonus.
    • Bonus damage from other sources is not further increased.
  • Can regenerate up to 300 health in one minute for heroes and non-player units.
    • Can regenerate up to 450 non-hero units controlled by players.
  • Multiple instances of Dominator Aura do not stack.
  • Does not affect wards, buildings and invulnerable units.
  • The aura’s buff lingers for 0.5 seconds.

Pros and Cons

Good jungler
Best lifesteal ability in game
Good 1v1
Hard to kill mid-late game(very tanky and has “free bkb”)
Great carry
Easy to farm with
Not so item dependent

Cons
Low attack speed
Small mana pool
normally easily countered by bane.

– enemy has high hp str carry like alch, sven, sk, balanar, etc
– your team need a versatile tank

Start Itens

You will need this for the last hitting process since you’ll be harrassed.
Often i just w8 few seconds after the begging and buy a queling blade at side shop, because it helps a lot, but this is optional.

If you think you wont be so much harassed, another start build option is Gaunlets + tango + Healing salve + 3iron branches. You will get a nice stats boost (more life, dmg and mana) and also gaunlets can be used to build drums after.

Midas is great item especially before 5,6 min but 7,8 min is still ok. It grants you IAS and will help you farm and lvl up more.

Orb of Venom: its a great item on naix especially if you want to go agressive and try some kills early. The slow synergizes well with your skill and the extra damage over time is nice too.

Phase Boots: I used to buy power treads for naix, but then I realized that phase boots is a lot better. With treads you have more AS, but quite often, enemy heros managed to escape with red hp wich frustrated me a lot. So i tried buying phase boots, and the result was amazing: nobody can escape open woounds + phase boots! Also, the +24 dmg make a huge diference in early game last hitting. So i really recomend you to buy phase over treads, at least give it a try! (note: now that open wounds has limited range, phase boots is a MUST for naix)

Armlet of mordiggan is a MUST. For strenght hero, is one of the best dota benefit/cost item.
It will give you AS, armor, dmg and hp regeneration.
Your lifesteal skills will counter the side-effect of -40hp/sec. And if you need a fast heal just ult in a creep.

Orchid Malevolence is an awesome item on naix. Lots of pro players builds this for lifestealer for these reasons:

1) it gives a REALLY NEEDED mana pool (25*19=475 mana) and regen (150%) so you will be able to cast all your spells everytime you need them.
2) It gives you 30 attack speed, that synergizes with your passive.
3) It gives you 30 damage.
4) It amplifies 25% on the target!!
5) AND its silence is a pretty nice disable. It is ALWAYS good to silence enemys: Imagine yourself against a hero with escape skill like, magina, qop, gondar, etc. You silence them, they will panic they cant run! or imagine silencing a nuker, he will be useless against your 6 sec rage + 5 sec silence! Also in teamfights, silencing key heros can be game breaker.

Skull basher because of its bash wich synergizes with the IAS of rage. and It will be devasting especially after your Hyperstone!

Note:Drums is a great item. A must in competitive games. But in pubs you can skip it.

Core extension/Situationals

For core extension, you may consider assault cuirass or mjolnir. because the IAS synergizes with your passive skill.

I almost always go for AC, because it gives you a HUGE armor, making you even more tanky. and the -5 armor aura is rly nice and amplifies even more the extra dmg from your passive and malevolence!

I only go for mjolnir if someone is already doing AC. since it dont stack.

Abyssal is really a good option too especially to shutdown another enemy hard carry holding a bkb and because you already have skull basher (saving slots!). Also in that same “counter enemy scenario” you can think in buying Heavens Halberd or Blade mail.

Tarrasque is always a great choice for str heros.

I go daedelus when my oponents dont have high hp.

Think of bkb if the other team has a lot of disables and rage isnt enough.

MKB when i need to counter evasion.

With naix, I prefer going AC rather than Desolator, but its still a good choice.

General Gameplay

Naix is a great farmer. Last hitting with him is very easy.
Lane is a lot better then jungle because you can set up some kills early on, because you rage and open wounds.

Try to finish your phase boots and armlet at 15min max and after that you must profit from his excellent mid game presence.

Always carry tp scroll with you in case a teamfight happens (especially if you already have armlet). Dont hesitate to tp to another lane who has enemy creeps for free farm.

Skills Comments

Rage
“Your free Black King Bar, furnished with a temporary Hyper-Hyperstone ! Because you have an ultra-low casting animation, you can press on Rage’s hotkey at the last moment in order to avoid that projectile spell.

This skill, combined with Feast and the right items, allows you to deal effectively with heavy tanks, carries and support heroes, as I’ll elaborate later.”

Dota 2 asia championships tournament brackets

We pick the winners and losers in the Dota 2 Asia Championships bracket

The groups are done, the storylines written, and the bracket filled at the Dota 2 Asia Championships

The groups are done, the storylines written, and the bracket filled at the Dota 2 Asia Championships. With shocking slumps, soaring successes, and fan favorites finding old form, the one question on everyone’s mind is, “what happens next?” Here’s my take on the showdowns that will take us one step closer to handing out over $1 million.

Team Secret vs Invictus Gaming

Team Secret detractors would have been justified in questioning the team’s chemistry before the Dota 2 Asia Championships, but not any more. The undefeated group stage campaign was far from easy, but the veteran talent of Gustav “S4” Magnusson and the reliability of Ludwig “Zai” Wahlberg have proven key when the games looked 50-50.

As for Invictus Gaming, losses to HyperGloryTeam and Cloud9 nearly knocked the still-incomplete squad from the winner’s bracket entirely. If you have to choose between “team with positive momentum” and “team with negative momentum,” even the frugal would feel comfortable in betting on the burgeoning International favorites.

Prediction: Team Secret 2-0

Hellraisers vs Vici Gaming

Vici Gaming may not have swept the competition like Secret, but the East/West tandem of Dominik “Black” Reitmeier and Daryl Koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang looked potent as ever en route to an 11-win, four-loss finish. Are they the same team that caught Evil Geniuses napping at ESL One in New York? No. Are they still strong enough to threaten the top spot? If the winds blow the right way, yes.

On the flipside, Hellraisers showed that the European qualifier was no fluke. The team took fifth on the heels of CIS-style Dota, featuring runaway carries on the heels of early leads. While it’s unlikely that this early-game dependent style will net them an upset over Vici, a free-farming Slark or Anti-Mage could easily tip a game in their favor.

Prediction: Vici Gaming 2-1

Evil Geniuses vs Natus Vincere

Evil Geniuses versus Natus Vincere is the kind of match that breaks hearts, breaks friendships, and breaks computer monitors with equal proficiency. Na’Vi is riding a wave of momentum after surging through the wildcard qualifier and landing in sixth place in the group stage, taking a game off of the Boys in Blue in the process. With Oleksandr “XBOCT” Dashkeyvych and Danil “Dendi” Ishutin back in prime form, the beleaguered squad has faithful fans dreaming of a return to glory.

Unfortunately, their first round opponent is a team whose only failures in the group stage have been of their own accord. Miscommunications between new teammates have turned fights on their heads, and not in Evil Geniuses’ favor. Even a close contest between Team Secret was blown wide open only when ill-fated engagements and costly miss-fires undid a decent lead.

Provided Evil Geniuses doesn’t defeat themselves, Peter “PPD” Dager’s drafts and Syed “Sumail” Hassan’s confidence should win the day, though Dashkeyvych will likely run away with one game during the set.

Prediction: Evil Geniuses 2-1

Cloud9 vs Big God

The last team to the roster party, Cloud9 is still searching for their identity. Johan “N0Tail” Sundstein and Rasmus “Misery” Filipsen found their footing just in time to give the team a birth in the winners’ bracket, but the day-and-night difference between day one and day five are wholly indicative of a side that’s just finding its rhythm.

Big God, on the other hand, is fighting like a team of retired boxers, called out by their younger, arrogant colleagues. Sharp, talented as they’ve ever been—and rest assured, this team has talent in spades—and surprisingly committed for a team of “retirees,” Big God looks the easy favorite in a sweep.

Prediction: Big God 2-0

The Dota 2 Asia Championships is as much about unanswered questions as known talents, just as it was when the curtain first lifted. How will Hassan perform in a best of 3? Will anyone out-draft Team Secret? Is Cloud9 truly just getting started?
