DotA 2 and League of Legends Characters with Resemblance

Forget the hate for now, because today we’re not going to point the difference s and debate which one of these two popular MOBA games is the best. Instead, we’re going to name some similarities between the game specifically with its heroes and champions.

If you play both games, it’s not hard to miss the fact that there are champions of League of Legends that look like some heroes from DotA 2 or vice versa. Dota 2 luscious locks and lashes Here are our favorite look-a-likes:

Naga Siren and Nami

Photo Source: Blorge and League of Legends Wiki

Naga and Nami are both sirens, bringing their ability to manipulate water and call tide in the battlefield. Both can play as a support and has crowd control ultimates that can quickly turn the tides of the battle. Naga Siren has her “Song of the Siren” that puts all her opponents in a magical stasis where they cannot act or cannot be attacked. While Nami has her “Tidal Wave” where she summons a wave that knocks enemies, slow them, and deal magic damage.

Winter Wyvern and Anivia

Photo Source: Dota 2 Wikia and League of Legends Wiki

Winter Wyvern and Anivia are both mythical flying creatures that have an affinity to ice and can control frost. Anivia also has a skill that resembles Winter Wyvern skill, it’s her “Flash Frost” where Anivia launches a massive chunk of ice towards her target, dealing damage upon impact. Winter Wyvern, on the other hand, has a skill called “Splinter Blast” where she launches a ball of brittle ice toward an enemy.

Drow Ranger and Ashe

Photo Source: Dota2Walls and League of Legends Wiki

From the frost bow and arrows, one cannot deny the uncanny resemblance of Drow Ranger/Traxex to Ashe. Both girls posed with long luscious silver locks with side swept wavy fringe, dark blue garments, and cape. They are also known for being attractive marksmen in their respective games that can be very lethal if their opponents left them unattended during the early game.

Gyrocopter and Corki

Photo Source: Guia de DotA and League of Legends Wiki

Gyrocopter is best known for dropping bombs on his enemies and eradicating them in one blow. Well, meet League of Legend’s Corki also known as the Daring Bombardier, a yordle scientist carrying his Hextech Munitions and Phosphorus Bombs. Oh, and guess what, he also rides in a small helicopter that has a Missile Barrage similar to Gyro’s Homing Missile.

Ursa and Warwick

Ursa and Warwick

Ursa or Ulfsaar may be a bear while Warwick, a wolf, but try to look at their in-game models and see for yourself the resemblance between the two. They have also had skills that increase their attack speed, giving them an advantage over their opponents. Another thing is that these two characters can play as jungler in the game.

Medusa and Cassiopeia

Photo Source: Zota and League of Legends Wiki

Medusa and Cassiopeia are both inspired by the Greek mythological Gorgon who was cursed for her beauty and was turned into a monster. Medusa from DotA 2 didn’t follow this lore but possessed the same terrifying look with snakes in her head and a gaze that can turn her enemies to stone. Cassiopeia, on the other hand, shares a somehow similar story to the original Greek mythological character. But like Medusa, she also has an ultimate skill that stunned enemies.

Monkey King and Wukong

Photo Source: Valve and League of Legends Wiki

Monkey King may not yet be released, but League of Legend already has a character that possessed the same features as the main character Sun Wukong from Chinese Novel “Journey to the West.” Wukong also known as The Monkey King fights his enemies using his magical staff. He can also create clones of him that can deal physical damage.

DotA 2 and League of Legends are both MOBA games you can play on your Microsoft Windows gaming PCs or laptops.

Yeah ive had issues with him im some games. Even if he had a terrible lane.

If your team is heavy on physical damage you need lots of armor reduction. If your team is more varied you need silver edge.

Also you should try and get your team to focus stuns on him so as to move around him and attack.

here is the most recent game i’ve had this way. As you can see the my team had a slight advantage for the first 20 or so minutes in the game. The BB didn’t seem like a particularly good player, but as the game went on he eventually just hit a point where we couldn’t kill him, and his regen was outrunning our damage.

he got the majority of his kills in the last 5 minutes of the game, because he could just tank all of our attacks without dying, and wipe us all with quills

Looks like according to dotapicker your team lost it’s advantage right around when you were supposed to.
http://dotapicker. com/herocounter#/E_Timbersaw/E_Phantom_Lancer/E_Bristleback/E_Io/E_Storm_Spirit/T_Bane/T_Techies/T_Lone_Druid/T_Lycan/T_Visage/S_1_advcharts/S_2_matchups
(I. e. crappy picks since not only bb was a huge threat to your team.)

Surprised how accurate dotapicker is o. o

he got the majority of his kills in the last 5 minutes of the game, because he could just tank all of our attacks without dying, and wipe us all with quills

Long story sport, in the first game I linked your team was supposed to lose it’s advantage around 25 min mark (in that one you lost it about 5-10 mins sooner) and in the second one you were supposed to lose it at 15 min mark and you did. You being your team, not just you.. for clarity.

Regardless, I reckon the biggest issue in both games was that (if believing dotapicker then) even if there was no bb, you would have lost your advantage almost at the same time since whoever they would have picked (core/carry/impactfullish) they would have had enough control to keep the important heroes alive. Like in the first one there was timber and in this patch he is cancery enough even without bb. Then add pl to the mix and you might as well just /wrist and try again in next life unless you’d counter pick/go for pushpushpush tactics to finish the game before you lost your advantage.

Imo at least, could be wrong.

-Almost no disables besides bane, against 5 very mobile enemy heroes.
-They had way better late game, but your team which had 4 good tower smashers didn’t attempt to end early. Your team’s LD instead opting to go Midas, with your team doing a total of 802 tower damage.
The threat of an Io prevented any one of you to push solo, so you guys really needed to push together.

-Again too few disables. Sprout and Wraith Fireblast, that’s it. Enemy team had 2 mobile heroes plus an Omni. Literally only Lina could be killed consistently.
-Your team’s timber sucked
-Your team’s Warlock was a bad pick since it’s a slow hero that is easily picked off by Slark and BB. Would have been better if he picked a Lion or something.

Silver edge recks him. Also mana drainers, he has a ♥♥♥♥ mana pool.

needless to say i did enjoy dota

especially the part where matumbaman wreck sumail in mid :^) and the 0:30 FB on invoker

haha lmao i died when someone says 3-0 eg

btw ez bet, got 2 arcana because betting liquid

Its hard to beat liquid due to kuroky. Liquid have 4 members on top 10 euro right now for a reason. They play a team game. Even when kuroky is not in top 10 skill wise, his mentality drove the team.

I think thats the reason why miracle been playing support oriented heroes now. Thats his end goal. To be able to be captain.

Although i have to admit. Liquid always have a hard time going against vp. Thats their weakness now..

Miracle is better IMO

Dota 2 Workshop – Item FAQ

Is there a main resource web page for the Dota 2 Item Workshop?

  • Yes. The Dota 2 Item Workshop Guidelines Homepage is the starting place for item workshop resources.

Do I need a special Steam account to submit items to the Dota Workshop?

  • You need to follow certain procedures to set up a Steam account and submit bank and tax information before you can add items to the Dota Workshop. Please see Account Preparation for Workshop Submissions for details.

What are the steps to making and submitting a Dota 2 Workshop item?

  • Concept: Come up with an idea. Dota 2 workshop 1095 a
  • Reference: Go to the Hero Requirements page to find model and texture budgets and reference files for hero items.
  • Author your items. See links on the Workshop Guidelines home page and the Tutorial and Software links on this page for more information about the following creation processes:
    • Model: Using a 3D modeling program, create the model for the item, weighting the mesh to a Valve reference file where applicable.
    • UVs: Unwrap the 3D model so you can texture map it.
    • Texture: Using your UVs as a guide, paint the surface of your item.
    • Shaders: Adjust the properties of your materials.
    • Animation: Needed for NPCs such as couriers that have a custom skeleton.
  • Install the Dota 2 Item Workshop tools
  • Test and submit your items
    • Use the Dota 2 Item Workshop Item Tools to compile and test your items in game.
    • Upload your items to Steam’s Dota 2 Item Workshop and spread the word to the Dota community.

What are some guidelines for matching the Dota 2 art style?

  • Please be aware that “matching the Dota 2 art style” does not mean strictly following the coloring and silhouettes of Dota 2’s default hero items. Dota 2’s art style follows very important general design concepts that apply to the readability and quality execution of all items, including inventive items that thoughtfully differ from the defaults and add to the appeal of our game. These principles are covered in the Character Art Guide and other Asset Creation Guidelines that have been updated and expanded for Source 2.

What should always be avoided when creating items for Dota 2?

  • Obscenity: We will automatically reject any obscene items.
  • Copyright infringement: Even if you made a model yourself, if you used an existing likeness without the owner’s permission, it’s copyright infringement. Unauthorized images, audio or models from other commercial properties, from other people’s Steam workshop submissions, from artist’s galleries on the Internet or from any other sources covered by copyright cannot be used in Dota 2.

Where can I find good tutorials to learn 3D modeling?

  • There are a lot of digital art communities online with great information:
  • Search for ‘speed modeling’ or tutorials using your specific modeling or animation software on YouTube.
  • Several Dota workshop artists have created item authoring guides on the Steam Community. If you’re impressed by the items of a workshop artist, click on the artist’s link under “Created By” on the item’s workshop web page. This will take you to the Steam Community page for the artist. They’ll have listings in the column on the right under “Guides” if they have created community guides. See if they have created any guides for authoring items. Some instructions and images may refer to Source 1 procedures but they could still be very helpful.
  • Look at our list of Service Providers to find toolmakers, organizations and users who provide tutorials and other assistance to workshop artists. If any of these service providers have been helpful enough that you’d like to show your appreciation, when you submit your item to the workshop you’ll have the option to give them a percentage of Valve’s revenue if the item is sold on the Dota store.
  • Go to Steam Community Dota Guides and use the “Filter” drop-down list to find guides tagged with “Workshop”, “Weapon”, “Modding and Configuration” or “Character”.
  • Visit the Valve Developer Community Modeling Category – most of this information is only applicable to Source 1 or other games, but it still covers general modeling concepts that are helpful.

The top 10 highest prize pools in esports

We’re in the money.

Esports players have seen some outrageous payouts over the last five years. While the overall size of a prize pool doesn’t determine the prestige of an event, it’s obviously one of the major factors players use to determine whether they’ll show up.

The first esports prize was given away in 1997 when Dennis “Thresh” Fong won Quake developer John Carmac’s red Ferrari 328. In 2006, Johan “Toxjq” Quick won a Rolex from the WSVG Quake 4 championship. Those were certainly remarkable in their time. But today’s prize pools are large enough that players can often retire upon winning them.

A huge part of this is due to the popularity of crowdfunding since developers have started to offer unique in-game items to their vast player bases in order to increase the size of the overall prize pool. Valve, the developer of Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, is the most successful company to employ the model at this time. Its marquee Dota 2 event, The International, has experienced tremendous growth throughout the past eight years of competition.

Here are the biggest prize pools in the industry. But because Dota 2 and League of Legends would make up the majority of the top 10, we’ve divided the list into two separate categories: Overall largest prize pool per tournament series and overall largest prize pools in esports history.

Overall prize pools per tournament series

1) The International 9 – $34.3 million

Valve’s annual world championship in Dota 2 has broken the record for esports prize pools for nine years in a row. While offering a total of $1.6 million in 2011 and 2012, since 2013, the event has been the most successful example of crowdfunded prize pools in esports history.

The most recent iteration of the event, The International 9, is now underway. Teams all over the world are fighting for a slice of an over $33 million prize pool.

This article will be updated once the full prize pool has been finalized.

2) The 2019 Fortnite World Cup Finals – $30.4 million

Epic Games’ first-ever Fortnite World Cup Finals featured one of the biggest prize pools in esports history.

The inaugural tournament was split into two main events. Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf earned $3 million in the solo finals, while David “aqua” W and Emil “Nyhrox” Bergquist Pedersen will split $3 million for winning the duo finals.

3) The 2018 League of Legends World Championship – $6.4 million

Riot Games allowed League of Legends fans to increase the overall prize pool of the event through the purchase of in-game items for the first time in 2017. A year later, the prize pool was increased to $6.4 million overall, making it the largest event in the game’s history in terms of prize money.

China’s Invictus Gaming took home $2.4 million of the prize pool after defeating Europe’s Fnatic 3-0 in the grand finals.

4) Fortnite Fall Skirmish Series – Clubs Standings – $4 million

Fortnite: Battle Royale has exploded over the past year. To go alongside the success of the popular battle royale, Epic Games revealed $100 million for esports tournament prize pools in the first year of competitive play. A good chunk of that money was awarded through the Fall Skirmish Series – Club Standings.

The Fortnite record-setting prize pool will surpass this mark after the World Cup on July 28, where $30 million will be up for grabs

5) The Dota 2 Asia Championship – $3 million

Acting as a precursor for the eventual Dota 2 Major circuit, the 2015 Dota 2 Asia Championship’s prize pool of $3,057,000 only edges the Valve Majors out by $57,000. Taking place in Shanghai, China, the event saw Evil Geniuses’ newly-assembled roster take home the championship in one of the most one-sided grand finals in Dota 2 history. They beat Vici Gaming 3-0.

6) The Dota 2 Valve Majors – $3 million

Although the overall structure of Dota 2 Majors has changed significantly since their debut in November 2015, the first two years of the majors offered a $3 million prize pool per event. Given their substantial prize pools, the events were, aside from The International, the largest tournaments taking place in the Dota 2 competitive circuit. Out of all the teams that have attended the majors, OG have been the masters of the tournament series—winning four out of six Dota 2 Majors.

7) The 2015 Smite World Championship – $2.6 million

The inaugural world championship for Smite saw the tournament’s overall prize pool increased by $1.6 million after Hi-Rez Studios implemented crowdfunding. Taking place in Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Center, the winners—Cognitive Gaming—took home $1.3 million, roughly half of the prize pool.

8) The 2016 Halo World Championship – $2.5 million

Sponsored in full by Microsoft Studios, the 2016 Halo World Championship’s prize purse landed at a total of $2.5 million. Featuring the entire world’s Halo elite, CLG ended up taking home the event, as well as $1 million.

9) The 2016 Call of Duty World League Championship – $2 million

Activision decided to up the ante by doubling the overall prize pool of the 2016 Call of Duty World League Championship. This tournament hasn’t been surpassed yet by any other event in the game’s history, and it’s the only Call of Duty entry on this list. The 2019 Call of Duty World League Championship also featured a $2 million prize pool this month.

10) The 2017 Mid-Season Invitational – $1.7 million

The third edition of League of Legends’ Mid-Season Invitational saw the tournament’s initial $250,000 prize pool increase to $1.6 million from in-game skin sales.

Overall largest prize pools

1) The International 9 – $34.3 million

2) 2019 Fortnite World Cup Finals – $30.4 million

3) The International 8 – $25.5 million

4) The International 7 – $24.6 million

5) The International 6 – $20.4 million

6) The International 5 – $18.4 million

7) The International 4 – $10.9 million

8) 2018 League of Legends World Championship – $6.4 million

9) 2016 League of Legends World Championship – $5 million

10) 2017 League of Legends World Championship – $4.9 million

Item favoritmu apa vroh ? Bagikan komentarmu!

Jorien “Sheever” van der Heijden Reveals She Has Cancer

32 year old Jorien van der Heijden, a Dutch national and popular Dota 2 caster announced on her Twitch channel on Sunday (14 May) that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Upon revealing her battle with cancer, Sheever sent shockwaves across the gaming community, particularly the Dota 2 community and has received tremendous support through words of encouragement, advice and moral support. Her announcement also attracted the attention of Totalbiscuit, a prominent YouTuber with 2.2 million subscribers who is also battling cancer.

Totalbiscuit spent over an hour on Sheever’s Twitch channel sharing his experience on fighting cancer and tips on how to cope with the disease.

Interestingly, Sheever and Totalbiscuit are both 32 years old.

Sheever looked stunning in a red dress while interviewing JerAx, a Dota 2 pro from Finland during the 2017 Kiev Majors

It Is Believed That One of The Causes of Cancer is Stress

When a person is under significant emotional stress, it can affect the body’s immune system in a negative way. This negative impact on the immune system is believed to be one of the contributing factors to a person developing cancer.

When the immune system is weakened, cancer cells start to flourish. Of course stress is only one of the contributing factors.

Other factors that play a role in whether a person develops cancer include:

  • inherited genes,
  • stress levels,
  • what kind of foods you eat,
  • what you drink ,
  • the type of air you breathe,
  • the chemicals you put on your body (deodorants, etc.),
  • whether you get enough sunlight and vitamin D,
  • whether you get enough quality sleep,
  • and whether you exercise

If we take a closer look at Sheever’s hectic schedule and busy lifestyle, we can see that it may have been a source of emotional distress which has been ongoing for several years. Sheever looks happy and smiley in front of camera most of the time, but the kind of emotional battles she has to face behind the scenes is a mystery. Cancer does not develop overnight. It takes years before a person’s immune system is compromised to such a degree that cancer cells can proliferate.

The most recent data (2014) from the US Centers for Disease Control revealed that cancer was the second leading cause of death in the United States, causing 591,699 recorded deaths in 2014, only behind heart disease which recorded 614,348 deaths (US only).

Sheever Gets Ready to Battle Cancer

In her twitch stream, Sheever mentioned that she would be undergoing chemotherapy on Thursday (18 May). The treatment will be done in a hospital in Sheever’s home country of Netherlands. She says that her brother will be accompanying her to undergo her first chemotherapy session. Sheever will be going for a “cold cap” treatment which reduces the amount of chemotherapy medicine that reaches the hair follicles.

Being the statistician that she is, (a Dota 2 player, analyst and commentator), Sheever seemingly joked that “there is a 33% chance that I may be able to keep some of my hair”.

We encourage those of you who wish to show your support to get in touch with Sheever through her website, which has a contact form and links to her social media channels.

We wish Sheever a swift and triumphant victory against cancer. And we hope she quickly gets on the road to recovery.

Na’vi vs the Alliance: Why This DOTA 2 Rivalry Is One Of The Best in eSports

Na’vi is one of the most storied teams in DOTA history. Winners of the first International tournament, and runners up in the second and third International, Na’vi has always been in the discussion for best DOTA 2 team in the world since the game was in extremely closed beta. Dota 2 na vi vs dk 2013 bmx With living legends such as Ars Art and LightofHeaven as former members and DOTA prodigies like Dendi on the current roster, Na’vi’s history in the short existence of DOTA 2 is already storied and filled with some of the best players the game has known. So it’s no wonder that a team like Na’vi is a constant fan favorite, being a DOTA 2 team that has seen the coming and going of dozens of top level DOTA teams and staying strong throughout all of it.

The current Na’vi roster of Xboct, Funn1k, Kuroky, Dendi and captain Puppey

Who could stand against one of the strongest and longest lasting organizations in DOTA 2?

Enter the [A]lliance, a team who seemingly appeared out of nowhere in early 2013 to simply come into the scene with the force of 1000 Sunstrikes. An entirely Swedish team, the Alliance quickly established themselves as a powerhouse by defeating many of the top tier Chinese DOTA 2 teams in the G-1 Champion’s League, a tournament that included International attendees DK, Liquid, and Orange. After proving themselves at these early tournaments and generating a lot of attention and hype with their now infamous “boot camp” before TI3, the Alliance lived up to their perceived potential and won the International 3 in convincing fashion.

The [A]lliance from left to right: Loda, Akke, captain s4, EGM, and Admiral Bulldog

It’s debatable that Na’vi and the Alliance are the top 2 teams in the world at the moment, and they never fail to take the opportunity to prove this. Constantly playing each other in Grand Finals or Winner’s brackets of tournaments, these two powerhouses clash often and their match-ups are always a spectacle to watch. With their sets often going the distance, be it 3 or 5 matches, their play against each other is, in all senses of the phrase, a back and forth slug-fest. Be it for a circuit tournament, or the title of “Best Team in the World” these teams always give it their all against each other.

You’d think after meeting each other so often in such high stakes scenarios, with literally over one million dollars on the line one time, there would be a bitter hatred and rivalry between these two teams, akin to a Hattsfield/McCoy or Yankees/Red Sox blood feud. Even their playstyles, with Na’Vi’s classic teamfight compositions vs. Alliance’s infamous “rat DOTA” split pushing tactics, the teams are polar opposites and their attitudes toward each other must be abrasive, right?

If you think that, you would be so very, very wrong. The comradeship from these two teams, and the DOTA 2 competitive scene in general, is quite different than what you would expect. Admiral Bulldog himself owes a true debt to Dendi, who gave him the opportunity to play DOTA 2 competitively by having him play as a Na’Vi stand-in after playing with him in some pub games. Additionally, the two players share humorous banter on their Twitters often.

Between their skill levels, the stakes they play for, and the genuine friendship that these two teams appear to share, this rivalry proves to be, at least to me, the best one in all of eSports right now and is a great thing for it. The legitimate sportsmanship that these two teams have toward each other could convince even the most staunch believers of “eSports aren’t real” that there may be some merit in the concept of eSports. As time and DOTA 2 itself progresses, it was be interesting, even exciting, to watch these two teams advance their play and for their rivalry to grow.

Guides (sometimes also called Hero Builds) are guides created by players, that can suggest items and highlight abilities to level. They can be created and shared by players either in-game or through the Hero Builds Editor.

“Hero Builds Editor” has been out of order, probably since 2014.
