Can i use 2 DC power supplies together?

GARYN

@ alberto:
The solution you give is partly true.
When the voltage differ a little one power supply ( with the highest voltage ) will deliver more current than the other.
This unbalance will probably burn one of the powersupplies and then the other.

Yes, you can split the load between two power supplies without any issue, just be sure to track how many amps each is providing. This is routinely done in a house for it’s line currents. Think a breaker or fuse for each set of controls.

Alberto, the steering diodes help, but one supply is still going to be loaded more than the other, so one is going to be more loaded and stressed than the other. Guess which one gives up the ghost first? The OP didn’t mention power supply specs, with modern power supplies with good protections are less likely to fail catastrophically than a simple unit.

Part of the way to succeed in paralleling power supplies is to tweak them very close to each other, within a mv or so. Since individual power supplies will react slightly different there will still be an imbalance. It is better just to split the loads, the consistancy and reliability goes up.

I recently bought two 24VDC at 6.5A that I’m thinking of putting in series for 48V, for a variable bench power supply. I’m still thinking about the kind of regulator I want to use for something like this.

baberb1984

For paralleling two DC power supplies for 2x current:
Yeah I agree, reliability is just better if you separate the two power supplies into two separate circuits, and just try to balance the loads across the two circuits. Since I usually ground the negative DC voltage, and/or directly connect the DC common between the two supplies, there is no problem with feeding a load with the + from one DC supply with the – from the other supply

For series connection of DC power supplies for 2x voltage:
Putting supplies in series for double the voltage, you want a reverse-biased diode across the + and – for each supply (cathode to +, anode to – of the same supply). You do this in case they don’t come on at the same time, or if one is off, the diode blocks the other supply from frying it with reverse voltage. It’s not a big deal, just a bit of extra precaution; The diodes are not normally conducting, ever, and would only be conducting if there is a problem – thus routing current around the supply that is being protected.

You can do this for any number of DC supplies, theoretically. Just size each diode for the voltage of all but the power supply it’s biasing, and the current of the complete system. Remember the same current has to go through all power supplies. So if you have 10 10A 24v DC power supplies in series for a total of 10A @ 240vDC (wow), you’ll want 10 diodes that can withstand at least 216vDC reverse voltage and 10A forward current.

REE TO PLAY is a feature-length documentary that follows three professional gamers from around the world as they compete for a million dollar prize in the first Dota 2 International Tournament. In recent years, E Sports has surged in popularity to become one of the most widely-practiced forms of competitive sport today. A million dollar tournament changed the landscape of the gaming world and for those elite players at the top of their craft, nothing would ever be the same again. Produced by Valve, the film documents the challenges and sacrifices required of players to compete at the highest level.

You can download it in HD from Steam for free right here, or watch it directly below. If you’d like to support the players featured in the movie, you can also buy the Competitor’s Pack at the above link and get some in-game goodies as usual.

One other thing I’d add before I’ll say any more – it’s funny how much I think this scene hasn’t really changed. I remember handing out thousands of dollars in prizes to CS winners at QGLs back in the day. Sure, the prize pool has changed – $1m is pretty decent scratch – but all the challenges are still the same, the ecosystem is still similar, and ultimately whether or not the game is going to be there tomorrow is still a big factor.
one area in which I think dota really stands out is the spectator appeal. especially compared to fps games, but even something like starcraft, there is just so much going on at any one time and the potential for a single player to make a huge game changing play. the way 5 people work together in a dota match in creative and exciting ways to beat out an opposition trying to do the same is, imo, really unique even compared to other team based e-sports.
See I have almost the opposite opinion – I am a pretty avid dota 2 player but I am staggeringly uninterested in watching it. Even the clips from Free to Play I found hard to follow and boring because they are mostly out of context of the rest of the game. I agree with everything you said – the 5 player teamplay is rad and different in every single game. But for me it’s boring as s*** to watch.
I am not really into e-sports because i would rather play then watch, this is also included in normal sport. But really enjoyed watching the International last year. I found it was very well streamed and the games were fun to watch. especially finals.

I was like that, but I got in to it around TI2. It’s all about the casters in my opinion. They make or break a game.

Elon Musk’s Dota 2 AI beats the professionals at their own game

But humans d >

Last week was the high point of the Dota 2 competitive year: it was the week of The International, Valve’s biggest tournament. On Saturday, Team Liquid walked away with more than $10 million after defeating Newbee 3-0 in the grand final.

Right now, one of the requirements to be a good Dota 2 player is that you’ve got to be a living, breathing human. The game does include some basic computer-controlled bots to practice against, but any seasoned player of the game should have no trouble prevailing over these bots, even on their hardest “Unfair” difficulty (though the Unfair Viper bot is a legendary jerk that’s utterly miserable to play against). Last Friday, however, we got a hint of a new, altogether more threatening kind of computer-controlled player: an AI-controlled bot built by Elon Musk’s OpenAI. The OpenAI bot took on a number of professional players and it crushed them.

The OpenAI bot can’t play the full game of Dota 2. It can play only one hero, Shadow Fiend, of the game’s 113 playable characters (with two more coming later this year); it can only play against Shadow Fiend; and rather than playing in five-on-five matches, it plays a very narrow subset of the game: one-on-one solo matches.

These aren’t random choices; 1v1 solo mid Shadow Fiend mirror matches, where two humans both play Shadow Fiend against one another, are a classic showcase of individual player ability. Shadow Fiend is played this way for a few reasons. First, he has three skill shot magical attacks (near, medium, and far Shadow Razes) that put a particular emphasis on positioning and judgement to successfully land the attack (or dodge it).

Second, while his regular attack damage starts off very low, he has a very powerful steroid ability, called Necromastery. Each time he successfully lands the killing blow on a creep (automated drone units that spawn every 30 seconds and mindlessly fight one another) he captures that creep’s soul, gaining two points of bonus damage. This means that more than most other heroes in the game, Shadow Fiend particularly rewards accurate last hits (the Dota 2 terminology for a killing blow).

The OpenAI bot doesn’t know how to play Dota 2. But over hundreds of in-game hours of playing 1v1 solo mid Shadow Fiend games against itself in Microsoft’s Azure cloud, the AI started to learn how to win the game. Early iterations of the bot AI would just stand around in their base, wander the map aimlessly, and end up getting killed in stupid ways. As we might expect from a bot, the AI is very strong at last hitting; it can precisely judge when to time its attacks to land the killing blows. Similarly, it’s very good at precisely judging the range of its Shadow Raze spells.

But the bot went beyond that, discovering other techniques that are well-known to human players. For example, the Shadow Raze spell has a short wind-up before the spell is actually cast. If a “stop” command is given during this wind-up, the spell is cancelled. This fake casting is useful because opponents will see the wind-up and try to dodge the incoming spell; a well-timed fake cast can force the opponent to move to a less-favorable position or miss a last hit, without expending any mana or putting the spell onto cooldown. The AI can also manipulate the creep positioning by selectively drawing their aggression.

After about two weeks of training, the OpenAI bot was able to consistently beat the Dota 2 pros. Over the course of last week, it was pitted against big names in the scene, such as Artour “Arteezy” Babaev and Sumail “Suma1L” Hassan (both of North American team Evil Geniuses), and former pros such as William “Blitz” Lee. All of these players are known for their play in the mid lane (where one-on-one matchups are the norm); none of them took a game off the AI. On stage, we saw the bot take on Danil “Dendi” Ishutin, arguably the most beloved of all Dota 2 players and another strong mid player. The bot relentlessly crushed him 2-0.

Having defeated the pros, the bot was thrown open to attendees at KeyArena. Dota 2 training progress skip beat In-game cosmetics were offered to the first 50 people who could beat the bot. The bot did in fact fall, with all 50 cosmetics being won, mostly by using cheesy techniques to distract the enemy creeps or buying unusual items. This exploits a weakness of the AI; it’s much less good at handling situations it has never seen before than a human would be.

The OpenAI team says that playing Dota 2, even in this limited way, is considerably more complex than playing a game such as chess or Go. Not only is the range of possible actions greater, but Dota 2 has hidden information; players can stand out of vision, for example, so the bot doesn’t know where an attack might come from. OpenAI’s next goal is to devise bots that can play full five-on-five matches, collaborating and communicating with each other to play as an actual team.

That’s an enormously larger undertaking, of course, but if they can pull it off, humanity’s domination of Dota 2 is clearly going to end: Skynet is going to beat us all.

Best Support Heroes in Dota 2

Yet another episode of Dota 2 heroes by Kill Ping gives you insight for some of the best support heroes in the current META. Previously after covering the most neglected heroes in Dota 2 now we are covering the most picked supports that are seen very commonly in competitive matches. This in any sense does not mean that they are only limited to the current META. The heroes selected are only chosen based over their versatility and in game effectiveness that they provide to the team and carry. This means that even with patch updates the heroes would still have a great impact over a game regardless of any changes unless a particular Dota 2 hero gets completely nerfed.

Anyways, let’s hope that support players don’t see that day when their favorite Dota 2 hero gets nerfed for no good reason and without any delay we bring you the best Dota 2 support heroes of all time.

Chen

Chen is a jungling support who is one of the heroes who does not heavily rely over items to create emphasis in game. His potential can be seen from the very start of the game when Chen converts a neutral creep and goes first blood over the enemy who’s unaware of Chen’s capabilities.

Overall Chen is a very good support hero that can heal the entire team in difficult situations and if you go for Mekansm as Chen you will have your teammates at full HP in no time. Chen at the same time can be a good initiator with his converted creeps. Chen’s versatility comes from his abilities in which he also provides a decent amount of damage to the enemy with Test of Faith and gives damage amplification through Penitence. However, Chen needs times to master as controlling Chen and his max 4 converted creeps along with their powers is somewhat difficult. Even so, Chen is one of the most picked support heroes even with patch updates and changes. A hero that keeps everyone happy with his abilities Chen is a must play hero and is recommended to be mastered by all support heroes.

Dazzle

Another support Dota 2 hero that is good in lane pushing, healing, damage amplification and literally calling a hero back from the grave. With Shallow grave effect over a dying carry you can turn tides of the match with him having 5 more seconds of physical, magical invulnerability. Dazzle provides both passive and aggressive support game play and allows the carry of the team to be a more ease when farming. Dazzle with his abilities just does not allow a teammate to die. He is an easy to master hero with just timing a main factor when casting shallow grave. Dazzle’s ultimate can create huge impact in team fights being used both in aggressive and defensive manners.

Overall a very versatile hero that does not rely heavily over items, Dazzle is in the list of top support heroes that helps greatly in team fights and supporting the carry.

Disruptor

Heavy spamming abilities make disruptor and tough job for the opponent to handle. His ultimate provides him with an AOE silence and burst damage that is effective when the enemy heroes have crucial spells. Imagine a team fight broke at the mid lane and the enemy team’s tide is just ready to ravage the crap out of your team, suddenly you/ Disruptor come out of nowhere and cast your ultimate in the middle of the fight. Result? The enemy team with their crucial heroes stuck in your ultimate and kinetic field combo doing next to nothing being silenced and taking huge damage with 0.25 sec intervals.

Disruptor’s Glimpse can be a game changer if used at the correct moment by targeting on a flanking carry or a hero who bought back and teleported to be in a fight. This spell is all about timing and if you cast it at the right time you may even be the man of the match

Earthshaker

Earth Shaker is one of those Dota 2 heroes that have huge impact over the game even at level one. Proper positioning of earth shaker allows him to get early kills with the help of spamming abilities or just right click damage of another hero. With earth shaker on the side the enemy mid hero has constant pressure of ganking and has to position himself in such a manner that he is away safe from potential ganks. With a proper positioned fissure ES can just disjoint the enemy hero from his lane making him unable to fall and face ultimate death. Support players can utilizing the roaming abilities of ES to position themselves for ganks and have fissure at the right moment can seal a kill easily for the team.

ES is also a good pick since he is able to provide chain stuns with constant spamming of his abilities and is not item dependant except for just a Blink Dagger to have good initiation and damage through his ultimate. Overall mana pool is low and since fissure is mostly a spamming ability so support players may opt for a soul ring or arcane boots depending on the situation.

Lion

Lion is literally a pain in the ass. Being able to harass enemy teams from the start Lion is a Dota 2 hero that can be a baby sitter for the team carry and at the same time harass the hell out of a lane. Lion also being an item independent hero has good disables and heavy burst damage. His spell Mana Drain is at many times neglected by players but it’s not a spell that has to be neglected.

Mana drain can dehydrate core enemy players that don’t have much mana pool making them ineffective in team fights and also providing lion with extra mana that he needs to spam his abilities and his high mana cost ultimate.

Lion can create nuisance in almost any lane and his abilities allow him to be a roaming support which can duo with another support and create deadly roaming combinations in almost any lane they tend to. Being item independent Lion in many ways have great impact on the overall game and at times can solely burst down enemy heroes with proper timing.

Tell us what you think with the list of the top support Dota 2 Heroes. Also tell what you would like to read next for your favorite MOBA game.

Dota 2 international 2013 all star match replay

Dota 2 international 2013 all star match replay

The day began with pageantry as Gabe welcomed everyone to The International. Teams were introduced, videos shown, and then there was lightning inside of Benaroya Hall.

Within the first 5 minutes of the opening game between Na’Vi and Orange, there were seven kills. From that explosive beginning, Orange went on to dominate Na’Vi in the first game, but that domination was short lived. Na’Vi came charging back and took two straight.

That sent Na’Vi into the final six and guaranteed prize money. Orange was sent down into the lower bracket where they faced Dignitas in a single game for elimination.

Dignitas earned that spot by beating wildcard entry RattleSnake. The game was a slow burn slug fest that had Dignitas pushing RS back on their heels mid game and leaving them never able to counter. With that loss, RattleSnake was out of the the tournament.

Orange didn’t take their earlier loss lightly and came back strong against Dignitas. The exciting match ended with Dignitas being overwhelmed by Orange led by Mushi. With that loss, Dignitas will watch the remainder of The International from the sideline. Orange will continue their International.

TongFu Vs Fnatic was the second upper bracket match. TongFu followed Orange’s lead and dominated Fnatic in the first game. While it briefly looked like Fnatic would be able to duplicate Na’Vi’s comeback in the second game, they lost it in the late game and TongFu was victorious. That moved them into the top 6 and a break until Friday.

Fnatic was sent into a single elimination match against LGD. int.

LGD. int won their first elimination game against Mouz. That game went quickly towards LGD. int and Mouz valiantly fought back but just wasn’t able to mount a counter attack.

With that loss, Mouz left the International

Fnatic vs LGD. int was the last regular game of the evening. Fnatic took early control of the match and never gave it up. LGD. int was eliminated and Fnatic moved on.

This means both of the losers of their upper bracket games were able to move on by defeating the winners of their lower bracket games.

Because 10 hours of Dota 2 is never enough, we ended the evening with an all-star match. Who won? We all won. What did we win? Awesome fun to watch Dota 2. Watch the replay, check our Instagram and Flickr feeds for a ton of photos.

Thanks to every person who bought a Compendium or who watches\plays Dota 2. Today exists because you made it exist. Thank you so much and we will see you tomorrow with the doors at Benaroya Hall opening at 11am and the show starting at 12 noon PST.

The Main Event of The International begins today. All the action takes place on the stage at Benaroya Hall in front of thousands of fans. If a day packed with Dota 2 being played by the best professional players in the world, inside of one of the most beautiful venues isn’t enough, we have more – much more.

First up will be the opening Ceremony at 12 Noon PST. We will be streaming this to the world, so even if you aren’t at the hall, make sure to drop everything you are doing and watch.

If you are in the hall, each day of the event will have autograph sessions with the Dota 2 voice actors at 2 and 4pm. Every signature is on a picture of the hero they have voiced. While you’re there, get your badge scanned and receive a special bonus in-game item.

Today’s actors are Gin Hammond and Dave Fennoy.

Gin voices Crystal Maiden, Drow Ranger, Enchantress, Mirana, Phantom Assassin, Spectre, Vengeful Spirit.

Dave is the voice behind Faceless Void, Skeleton King, Venomancer, Batrider, Huskar, Jakiro.

We love the International Fantasy Challenge and the Compendium owners who are playing it. Knowing many of you will be attending The International, we wanted to make it easier for you to manage your teams.

We know loading up the game client will be tough with your busy schedule. So we made it more accessible. Fantasy challenge players who have already created a team online can now check on how their players are doing, make changes when the games are over, and generally do everything you could do in game but now on the web!

Visit this handy link to start making changes to your team now. Remember we lock down teams right before the day’s matches begin and it is really, really important to remember – not every player will be playing every day. Your player has to be playing to earn points. Check the schedule and plan accordingly.

Some quick fantasy stats (we will dig more into these later). The top 5 fantasy players – S4 with 62.73, Sylar with 61.98, XBOCT at 61.96, Dendi at 61.55, and Loda rounds out the field with 61.11.

Attendees also get to visit the brand new Secret shop filled with old and new items, including these little guys (1,2). If you are at the hall make sure to check for daily deals and there are multiple products bundled with exclusive in-game economy items. Receive a complimentary 3-pack of trading cards with every purchase over $50 USD

Items you see posted from the store will also be available at the Valve Store online.

Everyday includes autograph signing sessions with the players and places for you to meet top Workshop contributors and more.

But what if all of this isn’t enough? What if what you really want is even more Dota 2 than a day packed full of Dota 2?

We’ve got that as well.

At the end of the regularly scheduled matches, when the day by all rights should be done and we should all be tucking ourselves into bed and preparing for Thursday – we have an All-Star Dota 2 Match pitting your favorite players against each other in two super teams for the ages. You can find the teams at the bottom of this page.

It doesn’t matter if you are in the hall or not, you should join us on Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, and this blog for more coverage throughout The International.

Critical strike

is a passive ability that gives a chance to deal bonus damage on a successful attack.

Contents

Mechanics [ edit ]

A Critical Strike’s occurence is determined upon beginning an attack, and not upon attack launch or attack landing. This means when, for example, having a Crystalys and starting an attack, but then upgrading the Crystalys into a Daedalus , the attack still applies the Crystalys crit, since it was determined upon attack begin. Or when attacking an enemy affected by Soul Rend , and the debuff expires during an already started attack’s animation, that attack still applies the crit, since it started while the debuff was still there.

Multiplier [ edit ]

An attack which triggers Critical Strike has its total damage value multiplied by the given multiplier of the source of the Critical Strike. This means a critical strike is basically an attack damage amplifier, as it does not add extra damage on top of the attack damage, but directly increases the damage of the attack by multiplying it.

The multiplier is applied before any reductions or amplifications on the target or on the attacking unit. It only counts the unit’s main attack damage (base damage, plus damage gained from the primary attribute), plus any bonus damage (percentage and flat bonuses) it has, meaning any damage instance added to the attack damage which is separete from the attack damage itself is not considered by critical strikes. If an ability adds its damage directly to the attack damage, then it may be considered by Critical Strike, though there are exceptions to this. See Final Attack Damage for the complete calculation.

All chance-based sources of Critical Strike use pseudo-random distribution.

Visual feedback [ edit ]

When a Critical Strike occurs, a red-colored number pops up on the victim of the strike, with a lightning bolt icon on the right side of the number. This number shows the multiplied damage value before any reductions or amplifications. This means the displayed value does not equal the damage the target actually took from the attack.

Stacking [ edit ]

When having multiple sources of Critical Strike, and both trigger on the same attack, the Critical Strike with the higher multiplier takes priority, while the lower one does nothing. This means their proc chances stack, working independently from each other, but their effects do not stack, resulting in a diminishing behavior.

Attack modifier interactions [ edit ]

Critical Strike is an attack modifier which fully stacks with any other modifier. However, it does not interfere with any attack modifier. If an attack modifier increases or reduces attack damage, it is counted by the critical damage multiplier. Abilities which grant conditional attack damage bonuses may or may not be by the multiplier.

  • Lifesteal: Lifesteal is calculated after critical strikes, which means that it increases the amount of life you steal.
  • Cleave: Cleave is calculated after critical strikes, which means it deals increased damage to all units within the cleave radius.

Conditional attack damage bonuses which are counted by critical strike are:

Conditional attack damage bonuses which are not counted by critical strike are:

Illusions

Accuracy Spot checked
Depth Basic
Readability Acceptable

Illusions are weaker, magical copies of a hero. All illusions deal 60% less than their stated damage value to buildings. To enemies they look exactly the same as the original unit (with the exception of Wall of Replica and Reflection), but to allies illusions always appear very distinct from the original one. They have a different color than the original unit, usually blue. Illusions run equally fast but their attacks usually deal much less damage and take much more damage. With the exception of Haunt and Reflection whose illusions will only attack one unit, illusions are controllable by whichever player they are created by. Illusions are instantly killed by hexes and take extra damage from certain purge effects and spells. Illusions created by other illusions will be based on the original hero’s stats.

Illusions provide a 2 × Level gold and experience bounty when last hit. Illusions created by Juxtapose and Wall of Replica give a constant 5 gold and experience bounty. Unlike other sources of experience, only the player that last hits an illusion gains experience. In addition, if an illusion dies to any other means or expires, no experience is given to anyone.

0 levals of call of the wild is stupiud cuz boar does lots of dmg and bird gives lots of vision max leval boar is more dmg than a dmg item like Armlet

and that 40% slow.

you can also stack+farm anchients on dire offlane w/ wild axes. nice source of farm.

ive palyed VERY few games w/ him, but he seem to be best at pushing. Hawks scout for incoming ganks, whiel you use axes and boar to push. get a Necrobook to take towers faster, as that works great w/ your aura. Dota 2 beastmaster pets wow

that above being said, axes amd moreso your ulti are amazing in teamfights. Magic-immunity piercing stun w/ huge range? yes pls. great pick agains heroes w/ dangerous channeling spells (CM, Enigma, warlock’s slow w/ Golems, ect.)

How are you guys playing him nowadays? When I first started to play him around a year ago, i went for a really push oriented build, but lately I’ve been building him as a rightclicker, basically a lot like a troll warlord. I’ve been getting 1 or 0 levels of call of the wild and maxing my others with stats.

i know we are not talking about his power level, but he is a weak hero.

now about how i prefered to play him. i would get helm of dominator aghanims and man fight people, maxing pets and aura first.

u could also max wild axes first and try to burst people with his ultimate plus wilde axes, which his ult is worse than regular abilities. but he has low mana and his wilde axes are not cheap. atleast with maxing boar, it is real cheap and spammable. and the ward of the bird is real effective sometimes(i just wish his aghanim’s allowed him to have 2 or 3 bird wards out at 1 time, that’d be dope).

the problem w/ him is really imo that hes a very situational pick. magic immunity piercing stuns are great, but in lots of pubs, peoepl dont even knwo what BKB is for, let alone actaully buys it. the strength of the stun therforr is somewhat lost. combine that w/ a nukes that can be a bit hard to land, and 2 micro-oriened abilites, and you get a hero who isnt going to be picked often in pubs, and when he is, played largely incorrectly (not @ full potential)

his full potential is low, is why once you understand everything about dota2 you will understand from a balance stand point he is gimped.

idk aobut that. i feel like hes woudl work better ina mosre support/utility role. 40% slow from boar si not to be underestimated early game. can he really carry a game vs “real” carries w/ equal farm? no. hes not that gimped, just too much of a niche hero who has too unique a playstyle for most players.

still would like to see some buffs tho 🙂

You get 1 level in axes to stack the ancients for your carry, you get your hawk and aura up asap to support team, You give your boar control to carry and send him to his lane to be used for ganks, you spare your ulti to interrupt and disturb enemy from killing your carry or to innitiate a fight and then act as a punching bag while your teammates are hopefully doing something you cant; melt faces, you carry TPs and wards to help out your carrys.

Manfight build is pretty much stupid unless you’re the only str/melee hero and there aint no carries around so you can happily take the farm, but only then.

BM is a gimped hero with huge supporting potential, so trying to build him as a rightclicker will most likely only be a drag on your team, if you win that way, you would’ve won any other way too.

Badly, is how everyone’s playing him.

Max boar, wait for the sweet spot where you can spawn 2, and the carry is alone because his greedy support is stacking.
. then you get free gold.

His beasts are why you pick him. The clue is in the name. I’ve never understood the scrubtards who skip Call of the Wild, especially now that it’s been buffed so hard. If you didn’t want to micro his beasts, why’d you pick him? You’re never gonna kill anything without the boar slow and bonus damage.

Tips for people who don’t pick BM but think he’s weak:
Stop denying his boar. This shít is annoying. Just because it’s at half hp, it doesn’t mean it’s some kind of liability.
Stop showing up in his lane and leeching XP. He needs levels to be of any use. That’s why he’s offlane.
If he’s building Urn, don’t be a cócklord and build another — especially when you refuse to use it.

The only buff BM needs is for neutral creeps to stop attacking his bird when someone else has aggro’d them. It’s next to impossible to camp block with the bird before it has invis without sitting there microing it and messing up.
No matter where the bird is, if it’s anywhere near to the camp after someone tries to stack it, the creeps will come back and kill the bird.

In my experience with Beastmaster, he is a fragile strength hero who with good luck and patience can be used best as a support or slowly build into a semi carry. When playing Beastmaster, you will never be the strongest hero on the field but what you can be is flexible and good at clearing lanes and creep camps into the early and mid game.

One of Beastmaster’s best strengths is being able to act as an effective harasser while still being a melee hero. Using his Wild Axes to stack and clear camps while his beast either pulls creeps or annoys enemy melee heroes with slow and small damage. The bird gives a free ward of sorts, especially useful for setting up lone player kills and avoiding enemies trying to get a free kill on your lane.

The problem with Beastmaster is that for a strengh hero, he has pretty low stat gains and often stuggles to defeat other players in lane who are simply more effective at his harass and micro heavy playstyle. He especially hates fighting heroes who have superior range and durability like his fellow supports like Warlock and Necrophos; funny enough, they are voiced by the same guy! These guys can easily stop his agressive harassment cold while controlling the flow of the lane and later, having ultimates that effect the field more than Beastmaster’s own. Necrophos even scales into an effective semicarry very quickly and is often seen in the same lanes that Beastmaster favors.

To get the most out of Beastmaster, figure out what is most effective for your team at the beginning of the match and try to go that path. Be flexible, but start with a plan and get items that help match with that plan and your allies. If what is needed is a quick initiate, try to get items like Blink Dagger and disabling items. You will start to force the enemy team to buy items to counter single hit stuns but if effective early enough, your team will benefit enough that it will be worth making your own ultimate less effective. Good luck with the wild hunt using Beastmaster.
