How to: Edit an Article

This short help article will guide you through the process of how to edit an existing article on the wiki.

Contents

First step [ edit ]

There is only one requirement for editing an article: that you are logged in. You must log in using the same account you use on the TeamLiquid. net website, if you don’t already have one you can register for an account here. Then you can edit any article on the wiki by using the “Edit” buttons. At the top of the page, this button lets you edit the whole page. At the top of a section or subsection, it lets you edit that part of the page only, this can be found at the right of any header.

The editing interface [ edit ]

The edit page consist of an editing textbox containing the current wikicode of the page or the section you want to edit. You can now change that code to add, remove, fix, improve something on the page. Once you made the change, you can use the “Show preview” button to see how the result will look like, before you actually commit the change into the wiki. If at some point you become lost in your modifications, you can use the button Show change, that will display what you have done so far. Once you are done and satisfied with the result, you can click on “Save changes” to commit your work into the wiki.

To help you with formatting, some work has already been done by contributors who created templates. A template, in the wiki context, is a preformatted way to output information which is sometimes changed based on further input. By using template, you don’t have to care about formatting the data yourself, and it makes it easy to have a consistent way of layouting information across the wiki. Templates look like this in the wiki code:

Templates may seem hard to use at first glance, but you can learn quickly by looking at other pages that use templates, and compare the wiki code that contains a template and what it shows on the page to get an idea of what are expected in the template parameters. Templates usually have a documentation page, that can be found on the wiki by going to the template page. This documentation describes what the template does, which parameters it needs or accepts, and how it looks once rendered on the page. A link to all templates used on a page is listed if you click on the preview button below the editing field, which ease the access to the documentation of the templates you are using.

A good example of a template you will often encounter is the Infobox template, which comes in three flavour: player, team, league. All it does is displaying informations in a box located at the top right of the page. It is usually present on each player, tournament, and team page, and accept multiple parameters, for example “name”, or “image”, that expect a specific value. Most of the time, it expect some text or a number that will be displayed as is, like “name”. Sometimes though, the parameter expects something specific, like “image” which expect the name of a file that has been uploaded on the wiki. That means you have to do a bit of research to understand what kind of value a specific parameter expects.

The concept behind a wiki is that anyone can edit and/or create pages on it. Sources are what makes it reliable and trustworthy. So be sure to actually provide a link that readers can consult if they want to check that the information is actually true. Though not everything can be sourced, the basic requirement is that you provide, for anything that can have one, a link to a trustworthy source, like the studio that develops the game, a very well established news website, the teams’ websites, etc. Just like in real life, when you say something, people are more likely to believe you if you have a good source to back your statement.

Formatting [ edit ]

You might want to edit a page to change its content, but sometimes you also want to edit a page to change its formatting. To achieve that, you have two possibilities:

  • Use the toolbar at the top of the editing textbox, which contains a lot of useful tools to format your text, add lists, headings, etc.
  • Directly format the content using wikicode, which is what the toolbar does for you automatically (you can find more about this here: MediaWiki Formatting )

General guidelines [ edit ]

When editing, you should keep in mind a few guidelines:

  • When in doubt: do as the wikis do, it is better to have consistent pages across the wiki.
  • Search for templates: there is no point in reinventing the wheel, and that complicated task you are struggling to do may have a corresponding template already there and way easier to use
  • Ask for help: Liquipedia has its IRC channel and its Discord Server, which is always active (though more likely at EU hours), and there are people here that will gladly answer all your questions. And there is always the feedback thread on TeamLiqu >

Dota 2 disconnects my whole internet

When I play Dota 2 I can be in a match for 2 min or it can be 30 min, but it’s random. My whole internet goes out I have to unplug the modem and plug it back in just to get it to work again. It’s only Dota 2 that does it I have played LOL, H1Z1, CS:GO and it doesn’t happen.
I have tried reinstalling Dota 2 and steam and it doesn’t help or work. I have also put it on low network mode or whatever it’s called in the options of Dota 2 still didn’t help. If anyone knows of a fix please help me I just want to play without getting kicked and getting abandonments.

You seem to have to have the same issue as: http://dev. dota2.com/showthread. php? t=280906
It could be caused by your provider not being able to handle UDP packets well and thus dropping the connection. I don’t know much/anything about networking it’s just a speculation since the only game you have a problem with is dota 2 and that seems to be the only game using UDP packets in the mentioned list. All the others use TCP.

Just to anyone that might have this problem I didn’t figure out what was wrong, but figured out a work around. I ended up using a VPN and it no longer disconnects or lags during the match. Finally I can play the game in peace (sort of) 😛

Well playing on VPN has 2 big disadvantages:
1) You may be banned by VAC
2) Internet speed can be way low for a normal game

Considering those two reasons, I would advise you to find another way to solve this. Check this answer with UDP packages not being processed, maybe that will help.

If you’re using a VPN with the same IP from your country I’d think it’s highly unlikely to get banned. It’s also advisable to connect to the VPN before connecting to steam so irregularities don’t happen. People have been using VPNs to connect to games for a long time and I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say they got banned for it. But it’s still better to change your ISP or contact them and maybe they can fix this easily. Better safe than sorry.

I live in the middle of no where and the ISP I have now is the only one I can have out here, so changing isn’t an option. Also, the VPN I use I only lose 2 ping which isn’t even bad. My download and upload still max out. So, I contacted my ISP and they said that they couldn’t tell what was going on and that they had seen the UDP connection, but when the disconnect happened all they could see is that the packets had stopped. Which honestly I already knew that seeing that means it disconnects. He took the name of the game and said he was going to do some research. I can only hope they figure out what is wrong.

Cold Comfort – Crystal Maiden (6.81b)

Quick Comment

I would never build Aghanim’s Scepter on CM, Veil of Discord suits her really good, is cheaper and has easier buildup (which is really important for hard support) and benefit go to rest of the team as well.
Dagon also feels a bit weird, you usually get enough money way too late to get use of it.

On the other hand there is a nice item you forgot – Shadow Blade . It’s pretty situational – mostly for pub games and if enemy team don’t have too much AoE stuns and your don’t have any invisible heroes. You can pop it during your ultimate for some protection – so you can get it instead of Black King Bar . It can also helps during ganks.

+1 for “harrasing your lane” paragraph – I forgot that disable inflicts almost as much damage while not pushing your lane. Pretty handy tip.

This guide is made by someone, who is incompetent and arrogant.

Crystal Maiden is the most flexible hero that you’ve played? No. no. What, d > Crystal Maiden and let’s say. Lion ? Crystal Maiden is pretty straightforward, and I can’t see her being flexible.

I play entirely too many heroes, really. I d > Sniper and Drow; There is a reason so few supports are played in low-level pub games, and played so poorly when they are chosen.

Desolator being useless is an interesting thought, and definitely an opinion I don’t share – With CMs laughable DPS output she can cause her team’s DPS output versus a target to sky-rocket; It is situational, as if your team is lacking overall in right-click it doesn’t help much but definitely not useless. Crysalis, as stated before, was a purely fun add, and actually at low levels of play even fairly effective since people don’t like the big scary RED hits on them.

To get to more constructive criticisms these items have been removed.

I actually agree with you on this one, my issue being that as a hard support I often find it difficult to reach the gold levels needed for this, and often find I am better utilized without using my Freezing Field which requires approximately 8,000 gold investment (BKB + Aghs’s) to be truly effective in late game, on top of the thousands spent on wards, dust and other support items such as Mekansm , Drum of Endurance , Pipe of Insight , Force Staff ; Oh, and those Black King Bar s and Pipe of Insight s and other items and skills on the other team blunt that effectiveness as well if you want to talk about playing at that level. EDIT FOR CLARITY: Hard Support CM is NOT a damage machine at that level of play except in very exceptional circumstances, with a skilled team helping her reach that potential.

Pub games are also often finished by this point, or so close to done that I can’t even get the courier to me in time for it if we are winning, and if we are losing I don’t generally survive long enough to stack up big gold anymore.

BKB was added to the build, along with some comments about it.

Thank you for your criticism, I only ask that in future you cons > Crystal Maiden the way you feel she ought to be played; I play this game for fun, I don’t necessarily min/max my builds, and in general I enjoy a positive win/loss ratio.

Cooldown Reduction

Cooldown Reduction is a mechanic that reduces the cooldown of spells, passives, items, charge based abilities.

Contents

Formula [ edit ]

Cooldown reduction stacks multiplicatively. Flat changes are calculated after percentages.

(Cooldown × (1 – reduction) × (1 – next source of reduction)) – source of flat reduction + source of flat increase = reduced cooldown

Example using a 60 second cooldown spell affected by 25% reduction and 15% reduction sources:

60 × (1 – 0.25) × (1 – 0.15) = 60 × 0.75 × 0.85 = 38.25 second cooldown

Cooldown Reduction Abilities [ edit ]

Below is a list of abilities that provide this effect. Many heroes also have Talents that provide cooldown reduction.

Dota 2 blinkin anti mage guide

Dota 2 blinkin anti mage guide

Dota 2 blinkin anti mage guide

In this guide, I will talk about some uncommon item builds for Anti-Mage.

Although this is a guide for those who already have some experience with the game, and not serious at all; you will have to pay attention in certain points of the game progression, and change the build for a bit if something goes wrong such as: your team is feeding like crazy, you are soloing the long lane against 2 ranged heroes that deal a billion damage, and you can’t get any farm at all. And also, it is preferrable to use this build when playing with friends (so you can avoid your team to yell at you and talk ♥♥♥♥ about your awesome build).

But you may also remember that your base mana pool is horrible on early to mid game, and your int gain is not the best, so use these items wisely (or just rush a Bloodstone. \o/).

Oh, also, this guide was inspired by Flimsii’s video, of course.

To start off, get a set of tangos, 3 branches, a stout shield and a salve.

This will provide you some survivability for the early game, as well as some last hitting power.
Farm some gold, and buy a boots of speed.

Since Anti-Mage is kind of a squishy hero on early game, you could totally use someone like Lich, Crystal Maiden, or Dazzle to babysit you.
And you are going to have to rely on your teammates, since with this build, you are less likely to survive either teamfights or the laning phase without their help.
Also, always ask them to have wards up, so you can avo >

If you are feeling safe, and your team is destroying the enemy team without your help, just keep farming enough to buy a treads (You can also skip it, if you want to, but I wouldn’t recommend it, though).

Now, you have three choices: To rush a Blink-Dagger; To rush an Euls (I will talk about this later); To rush a Dagon; To rush a Shadow Blade (yeah, that’s right, a freaking Shadow Blade).

Oh, and also, buy a wand, it is worth the money: It will give you some extra survivabilty, heal some of your mana pool when needed, and also save you some inventory space.

If you choose to get the Blink Dagger first, please avoid getting ganked (since your HP will be still very low); ask your teammates to help you and place some wards.
Then you ask me: why buy a Blink-Dagger on Anti Mage, if I already have a blink that costs way less mana and has a way lower cooldown?
– Think about it: You can, most of the times use items while silenced, but you cannot use your skills, obviously.
For istance; this Drow pops out of nowhere, and silences you right away. You try to run away, but the enemy team is also approaching you, to get a successful gank, and thus making you cry OP out loud and ragequit.
Since Drow’s slience (as well as the Death Prophet’s one) lasts forever, and she deals a lot of physical damage, you may be able to run, but her Frost Arrows will slow you and also deal damage to you. What should you do? BLINK AWAY, OF COURSE. Once you have your Blink Dagger, you can blink whenever you want to (within a short cooldown).
That’s where a Blink Dagger comes in handy on some heroes like Anti-Mage. This items makes you more annoying than you already are.

Next item: Shadow Blade.
My first recommendation for buying this item is: Your enemy team has a whole bunch of disables (silence), and they like to play as a team, thus ganking you very often; But you are still getting huge amounts of farm.
– Why would someone ever buy a Shadow Blade on Anti-Mage? Isn’t his blink enough already?
I should tell you: These days, people do not buy a Shadow Blade for the active invisibility anymore. But for the extra attack speed as well as the extra burst damage. You deal an extra 150 physical damage on a target after breaking your invisibility in it. That’s why this is a core item for some heroes like Kunkka. Dota 2 blinkin anti mage guide
So, this may be a game breaking item on mid game, since you NEED the extra Attack Speed to increase your dps, combined with your mana break, and also, some extra damage is always good.
This will also give you another escape mechanism.

Another useless item: Eul’s Scepter of Divinity.

Ok, not so useless, though.
It will give you more intelligence, so that you can rub you mana pool on your enemy’s face. Because they will probably not drain yours, like you do with theirs. Oh, and you will also be able to cast more spells, and use your Dagon, Shadow Blade and your Blink Dagger more often.
Oh, and you can also use its active spell to chase enemies.

Why get a Dagon on Anti-Mage?
Then I ask you – Why not buy a Dagon?

This item will also increase your mana pool, give you some more mana regen, stats, and some bonus damage. For less than 4000 gold. Very cost efficient, right?
No. Not at all.

But the thing about this item is it’s active spell: Burst.
Yes, that’s right. It will burst a single target, dealing massive magical damage.
The first level of this item deals 400 magic. You can make some kills happen with it.
Only one level of it is more than enough, but if you have more farm than you need to, you can also upgrade it to level 5, dealing the insane amount of 800 magic damage to a single target; for only 7980 gold!

Intro

Hello everyone, and welcome to my first guide on my favorite hero, Meepo the Geomancer. Today I will show you what you will need and why you will need this to be an effective Meepo.

BEFORE WE START AT ALL, we’re gonna need to talk about control groups. Control groups are what Meepos you will control when you click a specific key.

My control groups are as follows:

1. Main Meepo
2. ALL of your secondary Meepos
3. All of the Meepos.
4. The 2 Meepos after the main one.
5. The last 2 Meepos.

You can of course make your own control groups. These are just mine and the ones i prefer.

I go for Bottle first as it is essential to your Meepos. If you have no more charges in your bottle, then go for a rune or if that is taken, take your MAIN Meepo back to base and poof it back to your 2nd Meepo who can be last-hitting creeps or just standing in the tower, and ctrl + whatever hotkey you put bottle on, onto your 2nd Meepo.

You’ll keep yourself in lane with that strat.

2nd item, BoTs. This is one of the reason why I tend to do so well with Meepo, as I can just teleport one of 5 Meepos to a lane and start farming.

And after that lane is done, I’ll just TP to another lane and do the same thing again. And get some kills too, you never know.

Aghs is an item that you MUST get as soon as possible. It is your main objective after BoTs. Why do you need an Aghs for Meepo? Well, for one, you get an extra Meepo. You can nver have too many. But the reason we want that Aghs is because of the 100% stat share between the Meepos. This is why Meepo becomes such a pain to the other team.

With the 100% share, this means that the other Meepos will get equally as strong as the main Meepo. This is HUGE and is probably why Meepo can be so strong and annoying.

If you can’t Blink-Poof, then you might as well give up on this guide. Or well, you could do it, but it*s gonna be so hard to get kills without any good initiation on you. Blink Dagger fixes that problem tremendously, and is one of the best items on Meepo. I’ll give you a quick-fire tutorial on how to blink-poof.

1. Make a control group (which is gonna be 2 on your keyboard) with ALL of your secondary Meepos.
2. Have a control group on your main Meepo. (which is 1)
3. Switch to your 2 and poof all of your Meepos as fast as you can. Switch over to your 1.
4. Blink over to your target.

And done! This is how I learnt it, and it is honestly the most easy way to do it (IMO).

And for our final item, which you probably didn’t expect, Dragon Lance. “Why Dl? Are you 1k?” This is the usual message I get when people see me buy DL, but they won’t be laughing when the whole other team is dead.

DL is one of the most cost-effective stat items in DOTA. And probably one of the best stat items for Meepo, atleast in early and mid-game. 14 AG and STR for just 1,9k gold? That’s insanely cheap for such a good item.

Don’t believe me that it is great for Meepo? Well, for 3,8k gold (for 2 DLs) you get 28 AG and STR for such a cheap price, and that is ALOT of stats for Meepo. Buy it. It is absolute core for your m >

Early Game

The reason that i do so well with Meepo is because I ALWAYS get kills in mid. Why? Because Meepo is an insanely strong hero who can solo alot of midders at lvl 4-5. You may say “But isn’t lvl 5 too late? The other hero is so strong already.”. Well, yes and no. It depends on what hero you are against.

Midders like Invoker, Pudge, QoP or alot of other midlaners are REALLY easy to kill. “Pudge easy to kill? Pffft, ********.” Say that to the lvl 3-4 poof that just almost one-shotted him.

You may think that this is a bit too daring for you, and that is okay. You can get just as much gold from stacked camps as you can from a kill. Go crazy on your stacked jungle and you’ll be fine.

Mid Game

Mid game is where Meepo truly shines. This is your strongest phase and you should be using it all you can to help your team. Splitpush with BoTs, get blink-poof kills, TP with your BoTs and blink-poof at the same time for a kill. Do whatever it takes to end the game. Fast.

Ain’t much to say here, so lets go to the dreaded late game for Meepo.

Late game

This is danger territory for Meepo. At this point in time, the other teams carry’s have probably gotten farm, and you aren’t so strong anymore. Sometimes you can get a kill off on the enemy carry, but you should really be helping your team by splitpushing and come to teamfights, since you can’t really 1v1 anymore.

Do whatever you can to disable the enemy carry and any other potential threats by using your Sheepstick on them, and then poofing them to hell. After that, try to push as if your life depended on it.

By the way, it is very bad if you die as a Meepo, as a simple death with you not having a kill-streak could net the other team up to 1k gold. Watch out for your Meepos.

Finale

And that’s it! Here’s a pic of my dotabuff with him if you are wondering.
Well, I’m off to Meepwnd some more. Be sure to comment if something was unclear or not.

In 2006, Akke along with highschool friend Loda became a part of Team_Team. The team signed up for an ESL qualifier, and shortly upon winning, Loda was approached by Maelk to form a new team; Jukes on You, which Akke was invited to.

Jukes on You [ edit ]

JoY had their first professional win at the MYM Prime Defending #3, which in turn secured them sponsorship under the MYM Organization.

Meet Your Makers [ edit ]

Under sponsorship (and name) of MYM, Akke along with fellow teammates managed to win Dreamhack Winter 2006. Following the win, the team had many fluctuations in the roster, resulting in Akke and Loda’s departure from the team.
