While the interest from the users on this site seems to have gone down, judging from the number of posts on KDL threads, I think Dota is actually getting more popular in Korea. Zephyr titan dota 2 Not anywhere near LoL or Starcraft by any means, but it’s at least going up.
And season 4 seems like it’s going to be the most competitive season of the 4 so far, which is exciting.

But who is doing the english casting?

6 months, and I feel like that’s not enough to truly develop a synergy for most teams, my team included. Not only that, but the players are new as well. The skill is definitely here, as it is korean gaming nature, but dota is not starcraft, pure micro and macro management skill does not bring victories alone. There are small, seemingly insignificant mechanics of dota that take years of experience to completely comprehend.

As someone mentioned Korean dota dying, I don’t think that’s the case, it’s getting more and more popular here. However the games are not bringing much international interest because there are no big names for foreigners to relate to, and when there was (when Merlini, purge, and the netherlands guy came) the spike in international interest was clear. Not only that, a good amount of money is getting pumped into Korean dota. Zephyr titan dota 2 Even for tier 2, if your team goes 5-0 that’s $11

12,000 the team can make, just for 5 games. Same with the nexon sponsorship stuff, zephyr won $60,000 from like 8 easy games.

I have lots of hope for korean doto, but at this point I do think they should also promote a chinese league that includes korean teams as well, just so korea has something else to play besides KDL. Plus we’re pretty close so ping and maybe offline matches wouldn’t be an issue

moonglade and carn(from monkeyspanners i think) are casting

re: china vs korea matches i doubt the ping is going to be that great on perfect world servers, when Titan/Orange played in WPC-ACE they were at a severe ping disadvantage since they had to play on PW servers (so much so that for the next season they just traveled to china for a week and played all their WPC matches at that time)

I’m pretty sure that they traveled down because it was a requirement for all the matches to be played on LAN for WPC.
