Just noticed hes over 8500 on leaderboards, did someone beat him to it and drop though?

Also kinda stupid that you can get top MMR just by spamming strong heroes. Icefrog plz

yeah he’s the first 8.5k
He also happens to be the best spectre player in the world and spectre is the strongest hero in the game so it makes sense he would top the leaderboards
He will drop to 7k when 6.87 comes out and spectre is nerfed.

You can’t get to top by spamming strong heroes. No matter how strong a hero is you still need to know how to play said hero and have abstract skills such as map awareness and game sense. If it wasn’t like that, everyone would be 6k+.

And yes, he’s the first to reach 8500.

I once played with him like 8 months ago and he was around 6.2 at that time. Goes to show that if your hero patch comes just spam that shit over and over and don’t ever stop.

I suck with spec but am 8-3 this patch so if I was to exclusively play her who knows how high it could get.

well he was like 7.5 or something from venge carry spam which isnt considered super common

It’s not that spectre is too strong, it’s more like it’s the hero that combo the best with everything that is picked right now. (and one of the only carry that can actually survive invoker’s burst without bkb ^^)

Combine that with the fact that most carry are either garbage for this meta, or terra bad against spectre.

It’s probably worth noting that Spec has got better as well because people have started going for early game fighting builds, instead of rushind diffusal/radiance with bad farm and being useless/losing games most of the time. I mean, sure a ton of people were already using the urn/drums into yasha early game builds before but now it seems it has become more prevalent and more “normal” than Radiance rush, or even diffusal rush, and there’s also vanguard (since the dispersion change) to fall back to both for farming and against a ton of rightclick damage.
