Dota 2 limited commendations

Is there really any reason to commend someone with a text box? Ive gotten quite a few commends and havent ever noticed any comments on them or any way to view them.

Reports I can understand to have a text box, but considering Valve uses a bot to do it then I dont think its really the greatest thing.

I think the Reborn should have a screen to see your Commends/Reports with the following information:
Game information
Any comments
Who commended you
What they commended you for

And a similar one with reports:
Game information
Who reported you
Any reason they reported you for

This would honestly help a lot. If a new player gets commended/reported, or even an old one we have no idea why we got reported or commended so we have no idea what we did right or wrong.
This might even add in an embaressment factor and stop some people from false reporting knowing their name is now shown.

You can display your commendations under your profile.. IE all can see my 990 commendations.

Do they matter? nah not really and its a shame. But who cares?? its not like anything mattes anyway, its but a videogame.. nothing more nothing less..

Besides.. Report system is automated, a mmr “rank” system for public matches, Russian servers in Sweden. this game has many things that does not matter much.

Note that ingame you can tell it “even if my profile is private” when you play games together

Wait wait valves comendation and reprots are done by a bot? So if ur in a party and all decide to be douches and report 1 guy he goes to LP?

Nah not like that, it looks for a pattern.

If you play 10 matches and in 3 of those random people report you for fun or because they think juker is a bad name or whatever you might go to low, due to the pattern “reported often”

Nobody looks at the replays etc. its a bot that handles the “pattern”

You think I will add random people from the community discussions ? Well, I have no reason to add you, and give you access to anything in my profile. People here, doesn’t take whatever a private profile owner says. Deal with it. You will understand that if you stay here long enough.

I never claiming anything about mmr.. I merely said you can see your commandations.. “I just looked it up to be precice” I have 916 commendations. Its one of my “featured” settings on the display you can have in dota, the other one being my first dota 2 match 29/03/2012

So if people wanted they could as me, just display their commendations, they can also look others up by going to their dota profile. does this do anything ?? no.. but that was not the op’s question

And about private profiles. The best someone would do to verify it, is look up your steam profile and check the number of hours in Dota, or see your Dotabuff.

Having a private profile and saying that they have 7.5k mmr(or 980 commends in your case), is like hiding under the bed and claiming the same.
And to add to that, saying ‘you can add me to check’ sounds more like a social engineering tactic than anything else.

I just used my own as an example, it was in no way me trying to say “look I am good” I don’t know what the avg commendations are after as many games I’ve played nor do I care much.

As for the use of them my point was there is none other than the mmr “look at me” culture. but they don’t really do anything as per say. that was my point and thus not just answering the op but also telling him abit more.

As for why my profile is private, well try making a guess.. there is a very good reason for this. Not that I expect you to understand.

And as I said. ingame its not private (all can watch anyones dota profile) Dota buff often have false information and is not a good source in general

Note also that you are speaking with an account with only dota 2 as a real game (2 games in total) so where is your main account? I could pose questions like this, but what would be the point. I don’t care and I take your opinion into account and reply..
