Dota 2 blinkin anti mage guide

In this guide, I will talk about some uncommon item builds for Anti-Mage.

Although this is a guide for those who already have some experience with the game, and not serious at all; you will have to pay attention in certain points of the game progression, and change the build for a bit if something goes wrong such as: your team is feeding like crazy, you are soloing the long lane against 2 ranged heroes that deal a billion damage, and you can’t get any farm at all. And also, it is preferrable to use this build when playing with friends (so you can avoid your team to yell at you and talk ♥♥♥♥ about your awesome build).

But you may also remember that your base mana pool is horrible on early to mid game, and your int gain is not the best, so use these items wisely (or just rush a Bloodstone. \o/).

Oh, also, this guide was inspired by Flimsii’s video, of course.

To start off, get a set of tangos, 3 branches, a stout shield and a salve.

This will provide you some survivability for the early game, as well as some last hitting power.
Farm some gold, and buy a boots of speed.

Since Anti-Mage is kind of a squishy hero on early game, you could totally use someone like Lich, Crystal Maiden, or Dazzle to babysit you.
And you are going to have to rely on your teammates, since with this build, you are less likely to survive either teamfights or the laning phase without their help.
Also, always ask them to have wards up, so you can avo >

If you are feeling safe, and your team is destroying the enemy team without your help, just keep farming enough to buy a treads (You can also skip it, if you want to, but I wouldn’t recommend it, though).

Now, you have three choices: To rush a Blink-Dagger; To rush an Euls (I will talk about this later); To rush a Dagon; To rush a Shadow Blade (yeah, that’s right, a freaking Shadow Blade).

Oh, and also, buy a wand, it is worth the money: It will give you some extra survivabilty, heal some of your mana pool when needed, and also save you some inventory space.

If you choose to get the Blink Dagger first, please avoid getting ganked (since your HP will be still very low); ask your teammates to help you and place some wards.
Then you ask me: why buy a Blink-Dagger on Anti Mage, if I already have a blink that costs way less mana and has a way lower cooldown?
– Think about it: You can, most of the times use items while silenced, but you cannot use your skills, obviously.
For istance; this Drow pops out of nowhere, and silences you right away. You try to run away, but the enemy team is also approaching you, to get a successful gank, and thus making you cry OP out loud and ragequit.
Since Drow’s slience (as well as the Death Prophet’s one) lasts forever, and she deals a lot of physical damage, you may be able to run, but her Frost Arrows will slow you and also deal damage to you. What should you do? BLINK AWAY, OF COURSE. Once you have your Blink Dagger, you can blink whenever you want to (within a short cooldown).
That’s where a Blink Dagger comes in handy on some heroes like Anti-Mage. This items makes you more annoying than you already are.

Next item: Shadow Blade.
My first recommendation for buying this item is: Your enemy team has a whole bunch of disables (silence), and they like to play as a team, thus ganking you very often; But you are still getting huge amounts of farm.
– Why would someone ever buy a Shadow Blade on Anti-Mage? Isn’t his blink enough already?
I should tell you: These days, people do not buy a Shadow Blade for the active invisibility anymore. But for the extra attack speed as well as the extra burst damage. You deal an extra 150 physical damage on a target after breaking your invisibility in it. That’s why this is a core item for some heroes like Kunkka. Dota 2 blinkin anti mage guide
So, this may be a game breaking item on mid game, since you NEED the extra Attack Speed to increase your dps, combined with your mana break, and also, some extra damage is always good.
This will also give you another escape mechanism.

Another useless item: Eul’s Scepter of Divinity.

Ok, not so useless, though.
It will give you more intelligence, so that you can rub you mana pool on your enemy’s face. Because they will probably not drain yours, like you do with theirs. Oh, and you will also be able to cast more spells, and use your Dagon, Shadow Blade and your Blink Dagger more often.
Oh, and you can also use its active spell to chase enemies.

Why get a Dagon on Anti-Mage?
Then I ask you – Why not buy a Dagon?

This item will also increase your mana pool, give you some more mana regen, stats, and some bonus damage. For less than 4000 gold. Very cost efficient, right?
No. Not at all.

But the thing about this item is it’s active spell: Burst.
Yes, that’s right. It will burst a single target, dealing massive magical damage.
The first level of this item deals 400 magic. You can make some kills happen with it.
Only one level of it is more than enough, but if you have more farm than you need to, you can also upgrade it to level 5, dealing the insane amount of 800 magic damage to a single target; for only 7980 gold!
